When being on a tower without a tripod and suddenly both cars start you really don´t need to be a monkey, I was the one that took the video. The Z06 won.
Actually they raced many times that day, a lot of the videos are on this site.. The z06 hardly killed anything. The viper was driving with a 220lb passenger, he eventually kicked him out to get rid of some dead weight. After that, both cars won a couple races, and they appeared to tie even more often than not. They are two, very evenly matched American super cars

ZO6 is a hell of a car, but you see them all the time, I would rather be in a Viper or Lambo then roll out on the town in a Vette. The Saleen even gets SO much attention because you never see them on the road. So trust me on this, the Viper WILL out handle the Vette ON a road course. The Vette is the better Street car hands down unless you go into mods then nothing can really compare. 10lbs of boost in a Viper makes around 1100 hp compared to the same setup in a vette running around 750-800hp.

Granted the ZO6 is a better highway car because it has better acceleration. Change the gearing in the VIPER and GOOD-BYE. The ZO6 is absolutely crazy fast, but once again, it is still a Corvette and you see them on the road all the time. You bearly ever see a Viper. So Z06 better highway car, Viper better Road car.

actually the coupe is about 300 lbs heavier although technically the new corvettes are faster its kinda odd that a 505h[/470 torque 3,132lb vette would beat a 510hp/535 torque 3,410-lb viper. Just a little intresting to me anyways. DC is supposedly releasing a 650-700 naturally aspirated all motor stock viper for its 08 model.

Yes the Viper can outcorner the Z06. they both pull 1.05 ave g on the skidpad. For a quick corner though the Viper can hold a maximum of 1.27 g, the Vette 1.24. The Viper beat the Vette around Motortrend's 1700 handling track by .2 sec despite being heavier and suffering from more drivetrain loss. Not only that but new Vipers are also easier to drive.

acutally the new c6 zo6 is good at taking turns, the body is wider, and the wheels are placed further apart alowing it to corner very well, the srt10 would still lose, very hard to control car
The Z06 is fast enough to beat the coupe too, the coupe's 100 lb heavier. I'm just hoping that Dodge's lack of effort means an ACR version is coming like the 620 hp SEMA concept Viper

1992 was first year of viper.. '89 were concepts.. nothing in '90-'91. First was V8(VM-01), second V10.(VM-02).. and it was 400HP even.

Yeah thats true...but it takes alot of skil to drive a Viper. No electriconic assit. ABS. Thats it. Everything else is power.I like the Z06 to tho.

The corvette is faster around the track simply because its 300lbs lighter and can out accelerate the viper. Which has changed with the 08 model year.
