  • Wonderfully sensitive! The lutenist is, I think, Hermann Leeb, playing a surprisingly historical-sounding lute (listen for the 8ve stringing of the lower courses).

  • @JoelvanLennep Yes, it is Hermann Leeb; Westminster Hi-Fi-, XWN 18776. Not sure of the publication date, but I bought the LP around 1961, about 50 years ago, so I would guess someplace aound '59, or '60. I've pretty much played the grooves off it!

  • May our Lord keep him with that divine shine in his still young eyes. It is a sweet interpretation that speaks of a talented and sensitive artist. I will keep his voice and eyes here close to my mind, in order to keep inspiring me. Thanks for posting Hugues Cuenod!!!Bravo!!!

  • Delightful to know he is still very much with us and still as sprightly as ever. Happy birthday and all best wishes to a great artist.

  • @dantitustimshu His age is almost inconceivable. In his youth, he attended a party given for Camille Saint-Saens, met him and heard him play the piano. Simply unbelievable.
