This was the year I was born in Berbice. It's the first time I have seen what Guyana looked like - besides the old WildKingdom episodes. Thank you very much for sharing the video, where was this footage shot?
I left Georgetown on March 7, 1970, at 10 years of age...arriving in Toronto, Ontario at midnight. As a youngster, I often wondered why my family left Guyana. Time has allowed me to become a Canadian with Guyanese roots. And though it's been 40 years...some of the images in this video brings back great vivid memories of a time long past. As Dave Martin sung "...I remember moonlight...~~~...long time ago, in Guyana..."
I love, love, love this video! I wished you had written more about the content.... year, places, people.... It's amazing to see Guyana as it was back then(looks like '50's-'60's) Thanks for posting this!

I was not fortunate to be born in the 1960's but watching this video brought tears to my eye. ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE DESTINY.
