A good piano sound indeed, I have a Yamaha Motif XS and I personally like this sound more than the XS preset pianos. Also the M3 sequencer seems nicer for me. At some point I may sell my Motif XS and get a M3 instead
Great keyboard, playing, and patch/sound effects. How should I decide between the Korg M3, Pa2x Pro, or the Tyros 3? They all seem very powerful. I'm particularly interested in the accompaniment features and less so the workstation aspect of it. Interested in contemporary and spacey sounds. Thx for any opinions.
I am so confused about the M3 88 and fantom g8. All I care is about acoustic piano. I play them today, but the fantom g piano was quite better and clear than the M3. I dont know why I still like the M3, I still like the M3 4 way piano (not xpanded I think because there is no " 1 EX3" as show in this video, but it was kinda electric, I really want it to be more acoustic on the low notes, cauze I bang really hard on the low notes as a serious pianist.PIanosounds is ok on the fantom,it s2 huge damn
Have you tried the Kurzweil keyboards? They have awesome pianos and all the other sounds are superior too.
Also there's Nord of course. The Nord Stage has awesome pianos, E.pianos, organs and other cool vintage sounds. Plus, it has a nice synth section on it! But of course it isn't a workstation. :'p
And now there is coming that Nord Piano which will blow off all the other piano sounds on market I guess. You could buy the Piano+perhaps a Korg m50 with the price of Fantom G.
@2010FerrariEnzo The XPanded Piano is very expressive, like a original acoustic piano, you can listen hammers that strike the strings of piano, very cool!
But the other piano of the Korg M3 are very lower than this new piano sound.
I read and hear a lot of comments about built in piano sounds but in the end it's how you play them that can make the sounds come alive. Have you tried using a damper pedal with your current synth or keyboard? It really makes a lot of difference. ;-) Do try it.
I really didn't like the M3 piano next to my Fantom X, but now? HOLY SMOKES! This new piano sample blows it out of the water. It is so woody and organic, and you can actually play it softly and feel like you're in the room with the piano. Gorgeous- NOW the M3 is a killer with the Xpanded pack.; before- just cool pads, really.
Please make something like that (Korg M3 - XPanded Acoustic Piano) for Korg M50... Just like me lots of M50 owner are almost dying to get a good piano sound from M50..!!
It only needs to be plugged in while the M3 is starting up, or when loading PCM libraries from MEDIA mode. After that, the sounds are stored in the sampling RAM. You can always hot-swap USB drives if you need to load different content.
$8,000 is the price of the oasys, which is no longer in production :( . You can get an M3 which has the same karma technology for $2-3k, just got my M3 and am loving all the new features I unlock everyday. Thank you for this video, very informative, helpful and awesome.
@lujoebonjo Actually, I found a brand new Oasys on Chile, it was less than US$ 7000 (new!). And yes, the price on Brazil is just crazy 'cause of fucking taxes here.
If I can recommend, get the 88key - it beats 77key hands down. The difference is staggering, Just like in OASYS. Weighted keys are must if you want to make really dynamic music. Good luck and lots of fun!
Yea... I don't want weighted keys... You can't play very fast with them... Seeing as how I'm a metal head and I play music like Sonata Arctica weighted keys are a MAJOR hinderence
thats only the case if you don't have the necessary finger strength. If you do, then you can do any high speed passage you want and have dynamic control over it to boot!
Did you go into Global mode and choose "Update System Software" ? Although you don't need to update the OS as you already have the latest version, it should find the .KEP files and load in the first one which is the pianos.
There are Pianos out there like sand at the beach, but what makes the difference with the M3 is the huge amount of customization and flexibility. If you dislike a sound aspect, you can literally rip it apart and change every single detail.
hello from france! whatare the best monitors for m3;thanks

The brasilian Korg guys are crazy !!
