.....anyways should have known better to trust their safe because i was so close to losing my belongings. Got to get my own personal traveling safe just like this!!!
I was in a really nice hotel in Portland and the room had a programable safe. Testd it, worked great all weekend, and the morning i was leaving to catch my flight back to LA the safe didnt open. Hotel said it would be a day or so till they had the means to open it and they would mail me my valuables (cash, laptop, etc) ..such b.s.!! So upset, I told them the whole point of the safe is to prevent strangers from accessing the valuables. Just as i was leaving maintenance shows n opens it.....
its a pretty good safe just small for full frame guns, it says it fits a full size 1911 but BARELY.. my 1911a1GI has less than half an inch of wiggle room in there.
Warning - Because there is no finger depressions or handle, I had a tendancy is to insert the key, turn and then pull on the key to open the case. If you do that too many times you will break the key off in the lock. Make sure you have the spare key available or you might need a crowbar to open it when it breaks.
I have one of those, use it for my passport and stuff when I travel, however I wouldn't even put my gun in it, the case is VERY flimsy, the metal can't be thicker than 2mm at its weakest point...
Is there any security at the doors of the SHOT show with metal detecors and such and is it still possible to bring guns inside even though its against the rules?
It's still legal to carry there under state and federal laws if you are licenced so I bet some people still carry inside the show, concealed of course.
If you get caught you cant be legally charged, you would just be asked to leave and could be charged with illegal trespass if you refuse to leave.
Yes you do. As long as the NSSF and/or The Sands says you can. I'm sure there are "some crazy" people in the media and in the hunting, shooting and law enforcement industries. The "T" in SHOT stands for "Trade". This event is not open to the general public, so the chances of "getting shot by some crazy guy inside the show" are pretty slim.
The organizers and venue have the right to impose "ridiculous" rules.
I have the combo lock version its güd

The California option would be the Taser or some good pepper spray or the revolver if you get lucky with the sheriff.

Great idea! If the hotel room doesn't have a safe, then this is a good alternative. Thanks

I have the nano 300, I like the combo instead of the key,. however I dont like the plastic knob for unlocking it, but it holds the xdm 9, and 2 mags.

I keep one under the seat of my daily driver for those trips into the post office.
It takes FOREVER for the smell to go away from the foam they use.

These work great. Not perfect but will probably discourage 90% of the bad guys out there.

@JoeDurobot
Why would you want to do that? If you WERE caught with a firearm you'd probably never be able to attend another show.
I would imagine that it's a requirement made by the shows insurance provider. Same as all of the firearms at the show can not be fired.
lostburro 4 weeks ago
@lostburro Because I would have the right to do it and I want to be able to defend myself, that sounds like good reasons to me.
Not being able to attend another show is better than getting shot by some crazy guy inside the show if something were to go south.
You never know, the thing is that it's legal to carry so I imagine some people must do it.
That is ridiculous in a place that show guns that you cannot carry one anyway.

I use one of these for my Ruger SP 101 3" in my car, but used it in my home before that. They work great when you don't have a lot of room.
