Rodelinda is a masterpiece from Handel's repertoire of great operas. OMG, It is so beautiful, so deeply touching...Kurt Streit does it so well, it is such a pleasure to see and listen to his voice....
Being a great fan of Handel's Operas, I think Rodelinda is on the top of my favorites, followed by Giulio Cesare.

I ripped the DVD of this production, extracted the audio, and split it into individual songs and recitativi. Took hours, but hey worth it for the best production to date of this opera (IMO) on your iPod, no? Except maybe the original cast with Senesino playing Bertarido, that must have been something.
Definitely. To have heard Senesino sing those three "pathetic" arias throughout the opera and then burst into the some of the most difficult strings of coloratura in the end would have been heart-stopping. I also particularly like the tenor role... would have been nice to hear how the tenors might have sung in their day.
Bad king, good singer!
