guitar hero is actually saving music, it brings good songs back to kids, and jams them into their head.

i intentionally bought guitar hero to get my little sisters that had to grow up with grotesque shitty pop music into actual music and actual instrument playing, and it worked all too well.

you know how hard it is to play guitar when you have to scavenge each room for your own guitar, pedals, cables etc. under bra's and skirts....!?

Not only is it introducing great music from decades ago to kids who would otherwise end up listening to Lady Gaga, but it's piquing their interest in learning to play an instrument and start a band (the guitar part at least teaches strumming rhythm). Besides, I don't think Kurt Cobain and The Pixies would have sat there and told someone they're not cool. They were ANTI-cool. Which is cool.

@Alphabex8 It's a steinberger bass... a headless bass. the strings have the ball ends on both ends (i.e., you have to buy special strings) and the tuning/tension is adjusted at the bridge. The guitars are somewhat popular, in a retro, 80's sort of way. the bass was popular because it offered reduced neck weight and was therefore more comfortable to use for long periods of time.

The Pixies always destroyed Sonic Youth in my opinion.. i respect SY but sometimes it has no hook or anything just babbling and guitar noises but i love certain songs by them they are very hit or miss.. Pixies always were rad to me.. guitar hero has NEVER been rad tho
