This is the battle of Ia Drang where several hundred US troopers fought a whole division of crack NVA. They landed and were immediately surrounded.They fought for 3 days and killed 2,800 NVA out of 6,000. NVA gave up, we lost 37 men killed. But we lost ONLY because our government is corrupt and didn't care about us and what we as soldiers had to face day in and day out. Hal Moore was a very brave and honourable soldier. There was none of the sitting way back from the front-line with him. he was right there fighting actual hand to hand combat with his men in Vietnam. His unit were the first US soldiers to confront the VC. This guy is a real man

He did 2 tours ('68-'70)before being shipped back to the States wounded. I sat with my mother many a night waiting for the late night phone calls, telling us her brother was alive, dead or worse, had killed someone during his many flashbacks.
