  • @tracker9921 but they are...by the very cowards who sent them to hell in the first place

  • My thanks to all the brave men who fought the communist beast.

  • @nightrider836 pew pew pew

  • The communist authority orchestrates the agent orange lawsuit as a propaganda for money through Nguyen Trong Nhan, a former health minister who is a vice chairman of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange, and millions of dollars of compensation for victims would end up in the pockets of corrupt high-ranking officials as in the case of PMU-18 scandal in which foreign aid was used to gamble and pay for prostitutes. (Vietnam is ranked as second most corrupt nations in Asia)

  • @tim666661 why did u use this poison in the first place you little white turd?

  • this was right after the MARINES landed in da nang in 1965 right.?

  • Lost a lot of friends to that damn action. God bless all the brave men who fought over there. Heros all.

  • cant wait till this weekend im going to a 1st cav reunion, my dad lost his leg during this 3 day battle...

  • This is the battle of Ia Drang where several hundred US troopers fought a whole division of crack NVA. They landed and were immediately surrounded. They fought for 3 days and killed 2,800 NVA out of 6,000. NVA gave up, we lost 37 men killed. Yeah, we slaughtered the fuck out of the NVA, they did a good job killing you little yellow bastards.

  • we lose in vietnam not good for us soutvietnames.we live 1975 over the word.

  • montagnais?

  • all "our" life is in the arse of foreigners :befor now Frech's,now Yanks's arse.

  • ctener1970-And before the french colonial rule it was china that Vietnam had defeated. The bottom line is the U.S goverment Fucked up. America should not had been there.

  • why does everything have to be so political with dicksucks like you? Why can't you just sit back and simply just be grateful and cherish the men who served, fought and died. Their opinions on politics were as varied as yours and mine.

  • @jfiles000000 CORSICAN MAFIA rules things in Saigon. They stink and controlled the drug trade. All Corsicans are complete turds, lazy and blood-thirsty also got heavily involved in slave trade. They whinged at Jonhsson who hated reds so US sent troops (to their death) there is no bravery there...just mass controled by the few and absolute madness. A lot of crazy vets became lawless hells angels in the US and raped/killed thousands in Viet Nam...only two or three helped south vietnamese wo

  • this isnt hollywood

  • Thank you for that message and taking the time to type it. I will try to find these groups. Yes my dad is at peace now but I'm not just yet. Take Care

  • At lesat in Brazil were not totaly controled by the government, you still think communism is horrible? Its not perfect but its much better than some capitalist contries were people starve to death. In Cuba no one starves, they live longer lifes they have what they need. The "rebels" you talk about rewbel themselves because those governments controled by the USA explore their countries and lifes.

Those "rebels" fight for life and justice.

Your american soldiers fight for oil

  • Anyone that thinks they're not controlled by their government is completely ignorant. Seriously get real.

  • Again, I have to disagree with your comments. Why do you think that so many people risk their lives trying to get to the U.S.A.? Cubans by the boat load try to escape their country. If Communism is so good, why do people try to flee their countries? I know that we are not perfect, but people of all nationalities live here for the freedom to go and do as they please. North Korea is a fine example of Communism in action. I for one have no remorse about fighting in Vietnam. AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!!!!

  • kapitalism is so good, why Mexicans imigrate tens milions to USA?

  • Do you really think Mexico is a Democracy? Mexico is run by Marxist and the country is poorly run because of corruption. It is sad to see a rich country with oil and other rich commodities, let their people live in poverty. They come to the USA to work and to keep from starving.

  • ctenar1970-America is a corrupt society. The mexicans bring drugs into our country by illegally hopping onto a freight train coming over with a little payoff to some corrupt border patrol officer. The Mexicans work our sucky jobs that real americans don't want by using fake social security numbers.

  • Roullex :you are right.the more (-),the better.I know, who are those readers .I'm Viet.

  • FOR VC CTENAR1970:

Criminal of war, murderous Vietcong of woman and child, takes care, I already bought the ticket for the Vietnam, you he goes to swallow with blood its words here in the YouTube, and to pay for your past its murderous coward. Democracy for the Vietnam. SAT CONG

  • Now you revile Vietnamese and want SATCONG - the word you used when you shoted to babies and women in My Lai-why your war crimes I can not remind of ?You have got right to fabricate and to lie,let us have right to enucleate.

  • @ctenar1970

fuck you, stop sucking your mommas bloody cunt rags, it will never make you a man. Stop sucking russian dick, that won't help either.

  • I have a great deal of respect for the Vietnamese but unlike you, it comes from facing them face to face, will to will. They were hardcore fighters and kicked some ass. But we lost ONLY because our government is corrupt and didn't care about us and what we as soldiers had to face day in and day out. You can say what you want but some of us actually know about Vietnam, we were there. I was a helicopter door gunner and saw about every inch of that country. How about you?

    Paul Greiner

    USA

  • listen mr. Grenier descendant of french Canadian immigrants you lost over there because you faced in your own words hardcore fighters, who were not gonna back down ; and yes a corrupt elite who sold you grunts out to pocket a sick amount of tax payer's money (Iraq) . War = $

  • frog

  • my grandpa fought in world war II and i never got a chance to say thankyou...he passed away before i really started caring about war stuff and our American Soldiers..i regret it every day not saying thankyou thats why today i have the up most respect for our fellow US soldiers...God bless them.and THANKYOU!

  • COL Moore was right,

they are fuckin heroes, plain and simple, nothing else to say.

  • @Alexn1067 you left out cowards rapists and child killers

  • @endracismguy I find it hard for a man, assuming you can even call yourself one, to sit there at a screen and keyboard and talk about cowardice in regards to men who served their country while in harm's way.

You can dislike the politics behind it, but since you just demonstrated what an inbred piece of shit you are, I won't even grant you any consideration whatsoever

    have a nice one pussy

  • @Alexn1067 so i take it if you are against war and killing you are an inbred piece of shit ,remember moron if there was no soldiers there would be no war ,but there is a never ending supply of brainless twits ready to serve and die for your sick countries corporate interests

  • thanks for posting

    3rd Batt. 7th Marines Chu Lai 10/65-1166

  • Thanks to all who are commenting on the video.

Unfortunately the war in vietnam was a real hell for the Americans.

But who fought with all forces to survive!

    SEMPER FI !!!!!

  • The war was real hell for the Americans? Like a walk in the park for the two million Vietnamese they killed I'm sure, right?

Really, the war was colossally worse for them. All had mothers who cried too.

Like any war, it was bad for all.

  • You are totally right, they put their nose in where they didn't belong. War just harmed, and didnt' do any good.

  • @lumbriga68 fuck you, peace.

  • @lumbriga68 and it wasn;t for the other faction ? 93 000 vs 1 000 000 viet-congs dead or unnaccounted for. Unfortunately US multinationals have a crack at Vietnam now and the poor viets think it's all cool. The central comittee people of the people's (most wearing caps and medals) see the big US DOLLARS coming their way...and the land gets poisoned (twice)

  • the worst part is most of these guys were drafted, and those who came home were met with protesters yelling and degrading them. Most of these men didn't even want to be there.

  • Absolutely heartbreaking. Makes you so proud and so sad all at once.

  • I agree very sad! My dad never told me what he went through I know he was stabbed but that is all I know but he is now dead and I have the upmost respect for him and what he stood for along with his pavillion and along w/ every American who served or gave there life at such a young age I would like to find Robert Dean Swishers' pav who served with my dad God Bless America!

  • Or imagine pulling yourself psychologically through every day of your life after you've killed another human being... who might have been a nice guy (or maybe a jerk), who might have been married (or maybe engaged, or lonely, or distantly admiring someone who was preoccupied loving someone else). Who might have not wanted to join the fight (or signed up with naive zeal). Who maybe studied math, or wanted to be a writer, or a farmer. Who loved and was loved. Imagine having killed A HUMAN BEING.

  • You know how seeing someone dead depresses you all day? Imagine seeing SO MANY, scattered, left to rot, slowly wash into the ground, as they stare at you. Bodies left to fester are war's crowning insult.

  • Recruiters and drummers-out get help from TV and film, which always show people getting killed: terrible, but thrilling. Instead of showing the captivating action of war, how about its stagnant reality: dead people, dead men, dead kids, dead animals, scattered, exposed. Faces. Still-open eyes. Some of them must seem to stare at you. Static, stupid anguishing misery of looking at death constantly... I can't imagine it. My heart goes out to those who have seen that. But not their leaders. Fck war.

  • any one knew my father sfc. henry revelez contact me 253-266-6000 stationed ft. lewis. ft. ord, ft bliss, ft. eustis, vietnam 1971-72 thanks henry(ft. eustis)

  • We were winning when I left!! Combat Engineer/VietNam Nov 67-Nov 68

  • sgt. How can I find who fought in this war ith my father? me # and ss# probably? Thank you if you can help

  • This is why youtube is so awesome...A perfect song for time when many people would like to forget yet many people can't.God Bless all who fought in this war and rest in peace for those who didn't come back...

  • I agree fathers didn't talk about the battle or what they went through during this war. I hated my father for many of years while high but god damn I would of been too during this time and probably until i died! Thank You American Vets!!!!!!!!!!! Always remembered!

  • Mustang, I hope you can find some inner peace. Your Dad's suffering is over, and he would not want you to feel guilty for not being able to understand him and what he went through. Find a Nam Vets group on line and go talk to them. Perhaps that would help you and also help another vet who may want someone to listen. Good luck!

  • again thanks can I find these groups under yahoo or somewhere else?

  • A very beautiful and underrated song.

  • Hal Moore was a very brave and honourable soldier. There was none of the sitting way back from the front-line with him. he was right there fighting actual hand to hand combat with his men in Vietnam. His unit were the first US soldiers to confront the VC. This guy is a real man

  • I agree..but ur facts are off...Colonel Moore never had to fire his weapon...and his unit, the 7th cavalry, was the first to confront the NVA..the VC had already been engaged by Americans prior to 65'

  • The documentary clip is here.

Search'Letters Home from Vietnam Once I was'

A longer clip (song incomplete) with narration of the young officer last letter just prior to going out and getting killed is also here.

Search "Tet Offensive & Khe Sahn Vietnam War Footage'

  • I remember this song being in the documentary dear America letters home from vietnam. an excellent movie if you havent seen it you should

  • Sometimes I wonder

    Just for a while

    Will you ever remember me?

So haunting and such a comment on the futility of the waste of life that few even remember other than those directly affected who waited for those close to them who never cam back (not me personally by this particular war)

    Ever remember me?

The footage fits the lyrics. I googled the lyrics I remebered from this haunting song I remember from 20 years ago and then found it by searching here.

  • Watch my video its called honor our fallen it sends a clear message not too forget these mean and womens sacrifices in war zones

  • Brilliant caption of the soldiers that fought in the La Drang Valley against 2000 enermy soldiers. On the video there is a soldier being bandaged up. this was Clinton Pooley. Also at the end is Lt Col Hal Moore. I will remember you Sir and your fellow soldiers always and forever. "We were Soldiers Once and young"

  • In my opinio the American soldiers were and will be always the best soldiers in the world. Those brave men in Vietnam won't be forgotten. Soldiers forever! Sd Campos, from São Paulo(Brazil)

  • The Polititions lost the war NOT our soldiers!!

  • Watch the movie "Coming Home". Feel the emotions. This song fits into the movie perfectly. Sad times. I still feel the pain. Lives wasted in a useless war.

  • Are you refering to the movie with Jon Voight, Jane Fonda & Bruce Dern? This is a very good movie and yes, it does make me bring out the tissues for a good hard cry.

  • Those of us who lived thru that era will always feel the pain... Welcome home Vets... Welcome home!

  • Yes. Coming Home with Jon Voight, Jane Fonda and Bruce Dern. At the end of the film, Dern swims out to sea while "Once I was.." is playing.

  • Omg i cant belive this crap you guys wernt even around during nam my father did a tour and even today he is still scared by the events of it there is no glory we lost a pointless war where 58000 were lost for nothing charlie still took over the south so where is the justice for the 58000 young men who were drafted coz of politics johnson should of finished the job instead nixon caved in under pressure!

  • Your profile shows you to be 24 yrs old. I'm in my 40's deary. My family & I put my uncle on a bus, sending him off to that war. He did 2 tours ('68-'70)before being shipped back to the States wounded. I sat with my mother many a night waiting for the late night phone calls, telling us her brother was alive, dead or worse, had killed someone during his many flashbacks. I know all about the hell these Vets have and are still going thru.

  • Yes we lost that war, but we had no business being there. YET... the soldiers went when called. That is where the honor comes in.

  • Nixon went to China in '72 and sold us out. I knew what he was doing when he did it. That is why today we are buying everything "MADE IN CHINA" by Communist. Three boys from my class of 1967 died there. It was worthless.

  • A great job on this video and no song could have been more perfect. (I'm still wiping tears.) I'm no stranger to the aftermath this war caused for the Vets, upon coming home and their families. I experienced it 1st hand. God Bless all our Vets, but those who served in Nam will always be nearest to my heart and several are my closest & dearest friends... My bro's know I'll never ask, but am always there to listen...

  • i was in the fucked nam

  • You're profile shows you to be only 22 yrs old. Hmm...

  • Once I was - Tim Buckley

  • whats the name of the song ?

  • 1ST COMMENT....HAHA IM THE BEST
