Obviously I can't say it for sure because he didnt' get many minutes in his first seasons, but when the Lakers finally started playing him he was already playing better than Vince ever has. He's more clutch, he's a better shooter, he's arguably a better ball-handler, he has better dribbling penetration and rebounding, and he has better finish at the rim when a dunk is unavailable.

defensively kobe has always been better...offensively kobe has NOT always been better...the consecutive 50 point performances and 81 point performances began from 2005-2008...i clearly stated that vince was a better offensive and team player than kobe in 2000 and 2001 as well as 2004-2005...and speaking of clutch vc has also been clutch throughout his career from his rookie year till now...and has just as many, if not more gamewinners than kobe bryant throughout their careers...

they averaged the nearly the same points VC had higher shooting %, and kobe had more assists.
