Salmon Falls Road, Wentworth Springs, H193, 49N - Downieville, Old Forest Hills Road, Mosquito Ridge......Some of the best riding roads in the World within a hour of Sacramento.....
Finally got to drive on this road, what an experience, I only looked on it on a map so I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. One of the turns said 20mph..I felt a little to overconfident thinking it wasn't a big deal until i first turned in....scary road yet so thrilling. Look for a black c5 z06 with GS strips on Sundays. I would like to meet up with some riders as I am interested in purchasing a bike.
dude you are a tard. 70% on the streets man, that's the rule. i ride that road alot and it is a really tight road. no shoulder, tons of cars, deer, etc. it is a pretty technical ride and any speed over 50 mph on this road is fast. anyone can gun it in the straights with no skill so speed isn't that important.
Yeah i agree, i think maxed 60-70%throttle on the "strait" if that is what you want to call it on salmon falls, other than that, <40-50% everywhere else, to much torque, debris doesn't help either.
not me. i'm not that crazy. i have been riding for a while and wrecked many times, but i'm not that impatient and i will wait for the right time. i feel bad for the ones that do though.
i wrecked my car at that corner on :29. was going up hill and came in too hot..understeered straight into the dirt. lucky i didnt go into the ravine toward the left..lol
sweet video. local rider from folsom so it know that one. everyone should give it a ride and take a loop off of salmon falls to mosquito, 193, wentworth.
dude. the speedo is visible in the film. he(assuming chuck is a guy) didn't go past 92mph. i'm pretty sure he could have since he was only in third gear which is also visible at times on the display. that is a cool road and one of my favorites. that is a tight road and very technical on most parts.
Well done, awesome video, I just got my licence, so I need more experience to get one of these bike's :)
Take care :)

Buzzes from 5.5 to 6.5. Very similar and common with most of the R and S riders. Well at least with several forum members that i talk with.

Nice clip. I've been riding a couple months, so I don't think I'm ready for that trek yet on my GS 500F. By the way, whats the speed limit there?
PlayerPe 2 years ago
I think the speed limit is 50 in the straights. The curves range from 35-10. there are some tight turns.
Just take the ride and keep a safe pace that is within your ability. this is just a slow, easy ride. i have ridden that road at a much faster pace.

Want a good challenge on that road - try driving a rafting bus pulling a trailer full of whitewater rafts!

i have seen tons of those. want a good challenge, try passing on of those POS's, without killing yourself.

Loved it! Not to fast, not to slow, enough to enjoy the ride and road...One of the few videos where someone isn't trying to brake a speed record...

Ok well it might not have been this dude, but there was a K1200r going REALLY fast (id guess 120)

I love the "S"ister of the K 1200 R.
The hinge moment is soo large!
But the rotation is small.
That´s the right way!
