But I understand him because he sings the most emotional music and he is an emotional singer. @jennaflor I mentioned those others because you said she has voice "waaay better than any other female singer out there"....so I just had to prove your wrong because she isn't even in the top 50. She is just another good singer. There are plenty of those out there. To be a singer you have to have more than just a great voice. You have to have star quality, good stage presence, and some special "it" factor. Unfortunately, she has gotten as far as she is ever going to get.

Compared to Heart's original or Carrie Underwood's cover on Idol, this sound like something out of a karaoke bar... She's probably a good singer, but this was not a great performance, too little volume in the loud parts, and too unsteady vocals in the soft parts.

Allison IS the best Idol of season Eight, and she is the best cover of all Idols on "Alone." Matt, of Season 8 is the only one who came close at besting Allison. I hold NO freaking illusions:I LOVE CARRIE, I voted 4 her that Season. But Carrie prettied the song:she sounded as expected--predestined, just like a studio recording(which is fine, like I said I Love Carrie"). But, I LOVE Rockers(musicians) who IMPROVISE, not sound as expected. Allison has no Num1 hits bc she is latino.

every musician has a different way of expressing himself/herself. each voice is going to be different as well as interpretation. i don't see why people need to keep comparing and pointing out what was good or bad. unless you're going to give some constructive criticism, then i guess your remarks are just not helpful. besides, if you feel that Allison's version of 'Alone' was so terrible, then perhaps try enlightening us with a rendition of your own. otherwise, just save it!
