DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE I LOVE MORE 2 DIFFERENT SONGS SAME TITLE. THINK THIS A TOUCH BETTER THAN THE BAD COMPANY ONE BUT THEY BOTH LAY DOWN A TASTY GROOVE.
No one could touch Little Feat. They were the openers on the European Tour in '75 for the Doobies but ended up the headliners cause the Doobies couldn't play their show due to crowd after the Feat played.
Oh people, are you serious? Billy Powell of Skynyrd doesn't even get a mention when we are talking about great rock keyboardists? Love Bill Payne too, but come on, Billy Powell was certainly one of the great ones!
When you sit down and list the truly great rock and roll/ blues/r&b piano players, I immediately think of Ray Charles, Leon Russell, Little Richard, Ian Stewart and Nicky Hopkins of the Rolling Stones, Chuck Leavell of the Black Crowes and now with The Stones and Elton John, Billy Payne for damn sure belongs in that group.
I think Lowell George is the most underrated musician in the Modern Era..you listen to Little Feat and then to modern country music and tell me it Didn't start with Lowell and Little feat!!!
No Band Like LF That bogus Rock Hall inducted Rap Crap. No Feat,George,Doobies,Los Lobos,Tower Of Power,Average White Band,Roomful of Blues,Ronnie Earl,Marc Bonilla, Spirit,Tommy CAstro, PR &Raiders,Deep Purple..etc.
@TheStampedehero Are you serious about Deep Purple not being in it? I know it's a screwed up situation there& all bands & artists mentioned by you SHOULD be/already been inducted. But Deep Purple.....along with Sabbath & argueably (some would argue not heavy metal) Led Zeppelin STARTED a new genre of music. There were others....but mainly those three. That late 60's early 70's stuff that they started evolved into what we all know as Heavy Metal. (imho) Can't believe the dumb shit the HOF decides!
Dayton Ohio around 1977 .I walked out of Hara Arena(after the live concert) and it was as if I had a religious experience.Prince was a close second in mpls around 1998.About a year later I heard Lowell died.
I saw hendrix, the doors, miles davis, leonard cohen, john lee hooker, free, pete brown and piblokto yusef lateef, larry coryell, bb king, dylan, the band, joni mitchell, sly and the family stone, xtc, talking heads, dire straits, shocks lu mania captain beefheart, etc etc etc and this is the best band I have ever seen live..... all the members of this band are gods of music
Lowell George is amazing. He was everywhere when he was alive. He is definitely underrated. Those who know of him, know how great he is. God rest your soul my brotha!!!!
"...sitting here thinking 'bout a red-haired dream, if I could only see her tonight..." Agreed, Lowell George was never underrated, even way back when he started off with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. But the REAL secret weapon in the Feat's arsenal was/is Bill Payne (keyboards) and the Tower of Power horn section...Aii-yiee Who-Dat?
I was played Feats Don't Fail me Now in 1975 and I didn't know what hit me. We were all devstated when Lowell died and the band was never the same but still a fine band. Now we have to say goodbye to Richie who was definitely one of the finest rock drummers of all time. So laid back they were horzontal! HOY HOY!
@inatizzy2 Bad Company did a different song called "Oh Atlanta" written by Mick Ralphs. Little Feat's "Oh Atlanta" was written by keyboardist Bill Payne.
Got turned on to the Feat at the U of Az in 1977 after buying Waiting for Columbus at Zips (3 albums for $9.99). Still can't get enough 33 years later!
Thank you for this video, I saw them several times in different venues and at various stages in the band's history and at their peak....none were better.
Yes, because after their 1st 2 albums, he never spent 3 days sober. I couldn't bear to watch him fluff line after line, falling down stairs...cleaning up vomit. they should have stayed in the studio, but no, the promoters wanted more than he could take. Bye-bye, baby, I hope you're not lonely in your '...rock n roll lovers / they lay in graves without flowers...'.
@saywhatmachine ..........>>>>>>>>>>>>> he was never underrated.. ..just short lived. Me and mine enjoyed his slide and cried when he was gone. God love him, he was a genious but what a troubled soul. We would all be blessed if he were still with us.
@saywhatmachine Those of us that listened to him and played at the same time knew he and Greg Allman were the kings of slide. Give Waiting for Columbus a listen. Some complain that there are some overdubs on that but I don't give that any credence. Either you can play or you can't.
