People amaze me out here.. I got a 99 4x4 blazer this year, so I'm hoping to have some fun with it.. I made it from forest park to north edmond in this storm with no problem, driving a 98 eclipse..
@Tungsten23 I don't have the CRV anymore, but I do have it's dad, a '91 Civic Wagon RT4WD. We'll see how to old compares to the newer if we get a cold, white winter here. Which I hope we do! :)
Great footage. This was the first blizzard I experienced up close and personal. It took me 11 hours to get from OKC to DFW. White out conditions at times. I'll never forget it.
I live in OK and PLEASE don't be mean to us we are just like you guys, just not very good drivers in a blizzard. The only people that were out in that were mostly teenagers who had nothing to do and wanted to get stuck on the side of the road or slide into the other lane backwards.(no offense to you, you probably just wanted to get a video of the bad drivers.)
so i know that the vid was sped up but you were really driving way to fast, passing all those cars and such. people like you cause accidents and lead innocent people to get into an accident and die, damn redneck. but on a lighter note, your CR-V did a great job in the snow and im surprised that it did not get stuck
Who the hell teaches these idiots to drive. Seriously, if youre an OK resident and reading this now. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. And BTW you use the GAS not the BRAKES to merge onto the HIGHWAY...
@TheStealth721 LoL, I remember this one dumb broad pulled out from an autozone and almost hit me. So what does she do? Honks and throws her arms up like it was my fault she didnt know how to yield. Dumbitch.
Oklahomans can't drive worth a shit on a clear sunny day, you can't expect them to drive in snow. They 'aim' their cars instead of driving them. When I had to move there because of my job, I felt like the best driver in the state.
The people using flashers are the same drivers who turn on their flashers in a pouring rain while still driving at 50mph. The same who think their flashers are going to prevent my Kenworth from flattening them when they stop in front of me on snow, ice or in that same rain. ;)
Okay, so I am from North Dakota and my 14 year old sister who just got her DL drives better than all these people! We got 26 inches from that storm and we went on our normal lives (without 4WD too!). Oh, and whats with the flashers? everyone is using them!
You've got me on the flashers, I don't know. They are Okies. In their (our) defense, the last time it snowed like this was in 1988. You guys get snow like this, and worse, every year...more than once!
Also, people down here do not have an extra set of snow tires. And some people (like the Corvette), don't understand that 285mm+ summer/runflats do not get traction in the snow. Hell, you wouldn't believe the amount of people that were stuck because their tires were bald!
I know I'm resurecting this here but I think the biggest difference between what we get and what you get is that the majority of ours is actually ice. Driving in snow is easy... Ice is a completely different story.
This is genuinely entertaining. I saw behavior like this twice in my life, once when I lived in Lawton, OK and there was about an inch of snow, and another time in South Carolina with even less than that.
You saw the carnage in my video, being stopped while people are advancing behind you is how accidents in this weather happen. Both lights that I went through had a clear intersection with no one approaching the intersection, except from behind. I really didn't feel like getting rear-ended. : )
thats true thats like wat happened to me i went up to michigan during winter and hit balck-ice when i came up to a light so i kept goin i got pulled over and told the cop i didnt want to get side swipped cause i slid into the intersection lol
You are right though, people around here can't drive.
I on the other hand did pretty well. I had my Subaru to thank for that. Went out and had some fun. Looks like you were having fun too watching the retards. I hope this snow stays around for a long time. We don't get enough here in Oklahoma.
But yeah people here are pretty dumb...lack of common sense is what hurts most Oklahoma and Texas drivers.
Americans with no winter tires... please never come to Canada in winter.

@dkrykard I was actually out rescuing my friend in the Civic. Figured I'd bring the camera along for the shenanigans.
For Blizzard 2011, my roommate and I took his lifted Bronco out and rescued stuck cars. Was pretty fun, and that Bronco is a BEAST.

I was just cruising in my jeep, watching idiots in huge trucks get stuck.
and watching people in civics get around fine.
it's all about driving slow and not mashing the gas or slamming brakes and watch out for everyone else. today it's the blizzard of 2011.
Driving on the expressway is cake.
oklahomans can't drive.
I just moved here from NY

your car scoots along nicely, no traction problems. It's all about having the right TIRES.
strange those other cars are not prepared for winter conditions.
A good set of wintertires will get you everywhere . (except maybe during icerains)
