I read somewhere that the point behind this song is that people are too obsessed with death and the after life and how if we are "good" all through out our life it won't matter anymore cuz we'll go to heaven so the guy in the song goes through life without feeling any of his emotions too strongly and thinking life "is just a phase" in a greater scheme of things

Love this song...Thought it was pretty weird until I heard Max explain it. Max is so well rounded even though he has had such a hard life. He understands the deepest part of people and what they are saying when they complain about life. Then he puts that into music...truly an amazing human being.
