  • God made man in his image. No wonder why Lucifer hated God.

  • That IS a Chinese accent.

  • They're not chinese, they're spies from other countries poses as chinese.

  • Dog bless these animal advocates! It's a hard fight everywhere but China seems particularly difficult to crack. The animal markets remind me of Jakarta's live animal markets which i witnessed and will be haunted by forever. Keep educating and changing people's perceptions & their appetites. How many endangered species will we lose because of superstitions?!

  • Diamonds in a cesspit of animal cruelty....God bless them they have a hard job on their hands...x

  • Chinese people have feelings? Jep it is and yes we can, we protect the voiceless together. Respect from switzerland!!!

  • Good people. I know that people have to eat, and as a vegetarian, I still understand that meat will be preferred by the majority. But it's essential that animals are treated with dignity and respect - they are after all losing their life just to fill someone's belly. So cruel practices everywhere need to be policed and revised.

  • China videos on youtube are constantly spammed by either chinese ultranationalists or ppl racist against China, so from now on I hope all China videos simply disable comments

  • uniteddogsdottcomm sign petition 500000 signs over. im not alliliated tho w/ these the animal rescue site on left sign petition ban cat dog fur sales

  • good job guys!!! china needs you..............

  • they didn't translate that convo b/w the two cantonese guys! the older guy was like "they close the snake shops every year, and yet they always bounce back. Nothing's gonna change" and the AR kid was like "well what if they enforce them more strictly?" I really hope China and Guangdong can improve its animal record, but the older man may be trying to ground these activists in reality. so i cant really blame him either

  • BTW the girl is soooo geeky looking, yet really pretty, she's like a perfect girl-next-door XD, i think i'm in love XD

  • I have family roots in Guangdong myself, the most diehard "eat anything" province in China, yet also perhaps the most "westernized" province at the same time. It is an interesting dichotomy with many animal activists as well as diehard dog meat eaters, etc. Guangzhou is home to animal shelters and dog meat restaurants simultaneously. however, I think eating dog, etc will die out in the next 10-20 years even w/o a full ban, no one my age eats them AFAIK

  • @ChineseinCanada 20 yrs is too long. also im actually a vegan, i dont eat any animals at all for ethical reasons.

  • @ducrozet74 You can't change these habits overnight. AFAIK no one... pretty much absolutely NO ONE, or close to it, our own age or below eats dog/cat any of that stuff. What are you going to do? Force them at gunpoint? The custom will die out eventually, just give it some time.

  • @ducrozet74 And what does being vegan have to do with anything? I wasnt going to comment on how westerners eat this but not that etc... this is mainly a domestic Chinese matter for the Chinese to decide, and how strict the Beijing Govt will enforce anything who knows really... but that doesnt mean foreigners can budge in and forbid old customs at the drop of a fucking hat, u know? BTW I have nothing against vegans or vegan diets or foreigners working/living/commenting constructively on China

  • @ChineseinCanada 50 years ago there was still many, many, tribes in papaua new guinea that practiced cannibalism, its a very deep rooted long tradition spanning thousands of years. i suppose when the british invaded papaua new guinea they had no right to tell them to stop eating their ancestors?? i mean it's a papaua new guinea problem not a western problem right??? the tribes sure saw no problem with it, i mean its tradition, and why are these white people all coming up in their business? lol

  • @ChineseinCanada i understand the Chinese that do this point of view, but that doesent mean i like it. i mentioned vegan because most will throw that in my face "but u eat cow" just wanted to clarify that no i don't, in fact i am equally appalled at factory farms in the US as to people in china/korea/vietnam/philipines eating cats/dogs. feel free to PM me if u want to discuss more, i let me know more of your point of view

  • @ducrozet74 Well, a better way will be just to let it die out naturally. If westerners start pestering them, China will end up like Korea where dog-eating will be seen as a sign of patriotic nationalism, THEN it will take a much longer time to die out. Right now, in China, dog/cat eating or whatever the shit else doesnt have any nationalist connotations. But if foreigners and westerners specifically keep pushing this button, it may well end up being a "patriotic" thing to do.

  • @ChineseinCanada also boiling cats alive is just so unnecessary really. And as in korea where if you beat the dog and torture it before killing it, again unnecessary. I think if you are going to eat meat, any meat at all, at least try to kill the animal as fast and humanely as possible. Try to keep the animals in a "proper" condition, no need to further torture. This goes to chicken, goats, cat whatever. Torturing an animal because it makes the meat taste better is just ridiculous.

  • @ducrozet74 I know you Scandinavians dont get the patriotism thing but in China its a very real undercurrent, mainly due to the education there. So be careful what you ask for. As I said before, more and more ppl are owning pets, and they wont eat them. You know another way to stop it? Its to import massive amounts of viagra. Eating strange animals has a reputation of giving a boost to.... "the rocket", so if viagra can do this job, they will abandon this habit and take viagra instead. LOL

  • @ChineseinCanada PT 1 LOL haha , everything in china is to boost the rocket LOL dried tiger penis for stamina etc, well i heard a lot of older people eat it and women but they dont need it for stamina. I hear dog meat is really yummy and sweet tasting meat, and cat is more sour and not as favored, CONTINUE next post........

  • @ChineseinCanada PT2 . I just don't understand the eating of dog i mean do they don't understand how smart, useful, and loyal dogs are? dogs are used as seeing eye dogs (to help blind people), in the army, sniffing out bombs/drugs etc, used in the police force, as guard dogs, rescue dogs (to help find people after an earth quake etc), and as companion, they are so useful and so damned smart. You really can't compare a dog to a say chicken....I just don't get it..

  • chinese see everything as food, and if u run out there is always human

  • @kanatapaw Wow. Just, wow. If you really do think that, I am truly sorry that you have to live such an ignorant life.

  • @Graymoths

your calling me ignorant? after the way people treat animals

hmm! its your opinion hun not mine

  • @Graymoths Tsk, ignorance is bliss, its because of the population pressures over the centuries and the lack of religious taboos in traditional China that led to ppl in certain parts of China eating, well, certain things. The lack of arable land and the use of oxen and water buffalo (eliminating them as food) in the farms led to, well, other animals being cooked and eaten. Dog eating has for better or worse existed for 1000s of years in China, so it is what it is

  • @ChineseinCanada I like how you try to justify the stereotype. If you would had read kanatapaw's comment, you would know that I am referring to his stereotype of the Chinese eating "everything." It implies barbarism. As a Chinese individual that does not eat "everything" does this mean I am a fallacy to the stereotype? Your explanations might be true or false, but really, in this context, they are irrelevant.

  • wonderful :)

  • Hahahaha guang dong dare any of you try to complain to these people, they will just tell you to fuck off and throw a butcher knife at your head.

  • @AsianPedoPanda ROFL I have family roots from Guangdong, Guangzhou and Shunde specifically, haha yeah those butchers in Guangdong dont take kindly to outside criticism XD XD. And worse of all they can call on the triads to chop you at night XD

  • Its always good to see young people trying to bring about positive change in any country... Well done. :)

  • @xblindxxpainx Well we know where our food comes from and its fresh, can't say the same for you though.

  • I think you should target both!!

  • ACTIVISTAS CHINOS, MILAGRO, POR LO MENOS HAY GENTE ASI ALLI, PERO COMO ESE GOBIERNO COMUNISTA DE MIERDA NO LE INTERESA LA VIDA ANIMAL, LOS DEBEN DE PERSEGUIR A LOS AMBIENTALISTAS CHINOS.

  • Yeah, young "activists": give the racists more opportunities to vent their prejudice on your own people.

Go get a real job and you probably won't have to live in that hole of yours.

  • chinese is dirty

  • Unless my life is on the line i dont plan on eating bugs or animal penis but if i have no choice id eat it without complaining.

  • damn ive never seen anyone chase down a chicken in the street lol

  • its mainly the older generation in China that still follow this old traditional way of eating

  • @smoochiezmwaz

Middle aged business men actually eat a lot of the endangered animals, not just old people.

  • pradagirl: you shouldnt critisize the chinese, or asian people. If you knew anything about their culture you should note that buddhism involves human and animal equality. Many chinese and asians follow this, and many are vegetarian...theres billion people in china not all of them follow this way of lfie.

  • its not just a 'cultural thing' its a world wide thing, I honestly dont know how someone can work in a meat factory, that would scar me for life.Being vegetarian does make a difference, for every five people that become vegetarian or vegan, meat industry productivity goes down 4%. and also your not supporting the cause.

  • Did you really think that after reading my comments that I was a meat eater? I've been vegetarian for more than 10 years.

  • good!!!!

  • How can I help this roganization??? Let's not stop here, let's protect sharks, elephants, and rhinos. I am chinese too and it is shameful that my people are associated with the illeagal poaching of endangered species. My heart weeps for the planet.

  • @95ellington Eat me, you ass. Oh, wait! You eat dogs. How sad.

  • @pradagirl9791 You're a perfect example of how people generalize Chinese culture and mentality. Try to know something about the country first before you critisize.

  • @pradagirl9791 Well, unless you are a vegetarian, you're a hypocrite. If you're eating American factory meat, you're being equally cruel to cows, chickens, hogs and other animals that are born in conditions that are equally or possibly worse than the Chinese.

  • Yes Chinese people eat turtle. What is the matter?

  • F**k their culture. They skin DOGS alive, those motherf**kers!

  • @pradagirl9791 China has rich culture. Don't you say f**k China's culture.

  • @pradagirl9791 Fuck you.

  • @pradagirl9791 Lick your own c*nt clean before you yell out to fcuk others.

  • Well done! I am really proud of what the youth are doing in China. It's really time to change some old conceptions and embrace new ones within Chinese culture. It is after all, a constantly changing culture.

But sadly, this kind of illegal market is rampant throughout Asia. Not China alone. The tigers in India, the exotic birds in South-East Asia. We have to put in more efforts to stop it and preserve the biodiversity! Add oil. ;)

  • GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

why the FUCK do they kill animals soo inhumanely.

    its VILE!

    keep up the good work!

  • no animl is safe in guanzhou, they even eat cat to, alive cat is best for taste they say.

    /watch?v=eW5hPwdbVe0

  • Its the way they kill their food... ie dogs and cats. why treat them so inhumanely F""ck them all. Bastards. The same with the west we are not innocent either!

  • just check you tube of liveskinning of animals, dogs, cats, racoons, they are stripped alive because it is easier that way, after the stripping they are thrown on a heap, and it akes hours for them to die in agony. Great culture China, thumbs down all the way. I boycott any product that comes from China, Phillipenes, Cambodja, Vietnam, etc. Not interested anymore. I'm vegan and also fight our westernculture till I drop. NO KILL

  • As to people against consumption of cats and dogs: that is a very narrow-minded viewpoint. In certain parts of the world cats and dogs are seen only as pets. But in a lot of places they are also seen as food, just how some cultures do not view cows as food, yet many Western countries see beef as a typical protein. Is this really a problem with consumption of animals, or is this more a problem with certain people being violently biased in their Eurocentric view of a more diverse world?

  • Most people against Cantonese consumption of various animals are simply ignorant to the facts. People call Chinese horrible for eating this and that. But I would assume most of the people claiming Chinese to be so horrible have never even met a Chinese person before. Eating many different creatures is simply a part of Cantonese culture. This is not a time to ethnocentrically judge other cultures. People should stop looking at other people through their own bias and start thinking, not judging.

  • @hoisan1 What you say is true, and "Western" culture is guilty of it too. But that doesn't mean we cannot change, right? I am a Cantonese, and I think I have the rights to voice out against the flaws I see within my own culture. If I could have it my way, we would all be vegans, but I see that isn't quite possible without some effort put into it. Nevertheless, verve aside, we can start step by step.

  • @Graymoths "I have the rights to voice out against the flaws I see within my own culture" - This comment itself is ethnocentric, eurocentric in particular, because how can any one culture have a flaw? Cultures are an embodiment and manifestation of the collection of experiences of a particular group of human beings, and therefore how can any one practice be a so-called flaw? Sure maybe things such as human sacrifice with the Maya are immoral to us, but who are we to judge another's way of life?

  • @hoisan1 In that case, you believe every culture is flawless? Perfect? And we have no rights whatsoever to criticize them or to change them or to apply our own morality upon them? Even if they involve hurting another life? How did you think cultures today came to be if no one changed them?

What're you trying to say here? I am posting a comment about the mentality within our own cultures, and here you are nit-picking on certain words I had used.

  • this is nothing...it goes much further, TIGERS, liones are there favourite,

  • @muslimah871 There's no lions in China, and they don't eat tigers. The poachers sell them for their fur.

  • These young adults and others like them are the only real future China has. The rest of the country relax and their asses and eat the meat of dogs and cats and expect that nothing will happen to them are archaic and SO lame. NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST TO ALL CHINESE WHO EAT SENTIENT BEINGS!!!!!! ROT IN HELL WITH THE REST OF YOUR BROTHERS AND FATHERS WHO THOUGHT THEY COULD DO THE SAME THING!!!!!!

  • your comment is epic fail in trying to be dramatic... lol.

  • @urw51002 Here's another good example of the "collective" mentality again. There seems to be alot of people like you on Chinese-related videos, yes? I am not trying to defend those Chinese people you had just insulted, but let me ask you this. Had you met with every Chinese person to know they do this? Did you have a choice to choose between your race when you were born? And is your country flawless enough to give you the rights to criticize others? Think about that.

  • Oh, great, those are the nicest Chinese I have ever seen!! Thank God, there are some that feel like us. What is it in the Chinese mentality that makes them to be so cruel to animals?

They want our respect? Then stop insulting our feelings and treat animals with tender care, respect and love!!!!!

  • @swissmaid Nicest Chinese? You said it as if you had a choice of what sort you want to meet. There is nothing in the Chinese "mentality" that makes them cruel to animals, it's just some of the "traditions" which still lingers today.

Stop being ignorant and seeing Chinese 'mentality" as the direct contrast to animal rights. There are (alot) of Chinese people out there who are drive behind animal rights. How come they don't get enough recognition? I feel your media is downplaying the Chinese.

  • @swissmaid And what do you mean we want your "respect"? There's that mentality of yours again, seeing us collectively. As a Chinese myself, I don't really want your "respect" at all if this is what you think of us, and I really can't stand people like you. You're just making the gap wider between all of us, and that doesn't help one bit, especially in a case as sensitive as this one.

  • @swissmaid "Then...treat animals with tender care, respect and love," says the woman whose own culture is a large consumer of meat. Is it not odd how eurocentric people will judge other groups of people for eating certain protein just because it is not consumed by white people? Europe is known for consuming large amounts of meat: ducks, of which only the breast is consumed and the rest is wasted, beef, which constitutes the majority of the meal, racks of lamb, and too many to list here.

  • @swissmaid It is funny because Chinese and Asian countries in general are known for consuming small amounts of protein with lots of vegetables and other foods, while westerners are notorious for eating large amounts of protein and little vegetable (hence the term side dish for vegetables and other non-protein dishes, as well as the ostensible idea that children do not like to eat their vegetables). In Asian countries, everyone eats vegetables, because they are seen as food.

  • @swissmaid Also, many vegetarian staples such as portabello mushrooms, tofu, tepan, etc. all come from Asian countries (Japan, China, and Indonesia, respectively). Is it not a wonder that all of the vegetarian food staples come from Asia and that Europeans have no indigenous cuisine which will satisfy a vegetarian diet? Let's look at the facts: Westerners are the ones who are ignorant about a balanced diet and therefore must borrow Asian foods to assuage their feelings of remorse.

  • @swissmaid Also, your comments are made out of chauvanism and bigotry: "Thank God, there are some that feel like us." Ms. Deprived, here, needs to get a reality check: Most people in the world are not european, and most people do not share your mentality. Stop being afraid of what you don't know (you've probably never met a Chinese person before) and start opening up your stubbornly sticky eyelids. Most people cannot be vegetarian, because such a diet is only sustainable in western countries

  • @swissmaid Only western countries have enough wealth (which was lazily accumulated through the enslavement of colonized people) to sustain a vegetarian diet and actually CHOOSE what food they eat. In many countries, people are just happy to have food on the plate. I'm sure that you would barely survive anywhere outside of Western Europe, North America, or Austrailia. But it really doesn't matter to you, because those three places are the only places in the world according to your ignorant mind.

  • @swissmaid Oh so the whole world has to pay attention to how Westerners feel? Do you know what the Hindus feel when you eat beef? Or what the Muslims feel when you eat pork? I'm all against illegal poaching of endangered species, but being bigoted against my people isn't going to solve anything.

  • @ManjuSu Why don't we all go vegetarian? I'm pretty sure that isn't condemned in other cultures. That would also give us better health as a whole (some people do need to eat meat for health reasons, though) and help bring back some species into the ecosystem that we killed because of them eating our farm animals, or animals being over hunted like some species of bear and many fish.

  • @swissmaid It's nice of you to judge other people's mentality when you look at Chinese people as "they" and everyone else as "us." I doubt cruelty to animals is a trait to Chinese mentality, seeing as I am Chinese myself and I know plenty other volunteers who are Chinese as well.

You can help these young people too, by changing your collective (not to mention, racist) outlook on Chinese people, to close the gap between different people and maybe, just maybe, they'll listen.

  • i wish i can save them=[ cat and dog too

  • as long as they eat it theres nothin wrong

    food id food

  • well my goodness its about time someone speks up for these animals.please stop them from killing dogs & cats too

  • I don't think that opinions from the outside have any meaning in this matter. You think cats and dogs are pets. Chinese think they're a good meal. Problem solved.

  • what the hell, my first first comment.

  • Good for them!

  • cheers 4 the post

  • China needs many more youngsters like this, the Chinese will eat pretty much anything that moves through misguided notion that it will improve their health, anybody for Tigers penis soup it will make you more of a man according to the Chinese!!!

  • I wish them all good luck, I am a young vegetarian living in Britain I would love to help them but there is little I can do.

My brother had a salmander as a pet, I had no idea they were eaten! That shark's tank really upset me, It was such a small tank! It is awful the way animals are kept sometimes.

  • WOOOH XD

These guys rock! It's horrible what people do to animals and it it great knowing that there are people like you guys defending them. You guys are such an inspiration :) xoxo

  • Could anyone give me a convincing argument why either:

    1. A species, as a whole, has an intrinsic right to exist, even if no individual member of that species does not?

    or

    2. Human A has a right to tell Human B that they may not appropriate property in the form of animal life, and, Human B, having put hard work into aquiring such property, should listen to Human A's ideas about how she should use it?

Genuinely sitting on the fence here.

    Any persuaders out there?

  • Glad to see there is a new generation of more compassionate people in China
