You have a good voice, but you're approaching this song wrong. The compelling thing about Danzig's voice is that he preserves the YOWLS and all the other peak-y stuff for once in a while. You're basically peaking for the whole song, and when you do that it isn't "special". You need to mellow out and build up to a burst.

I use a free program called vogone. Its really easy. It will remove the old vocals so you can hear yourself when practicing covers.

I tried the program out with a few songs, and it either didn't remove the vocals properly, or it also raped the rest of the bands instruments.

I only used the actually free demo, but if the demo is a representation of the real program, the real program sucks.
