  • I love this video. I've been practicing for months and months- seen huge improvements- and still come back to this for motivation.

  • This is so nice, I've wandered through many contact juggling videos, but they nearly always start you with something so simple or more advanced that it's just irritating. This is a great way to begin and you explain things very clearly. It's all appreaciated by this novice!

  • Great lesson! Will practice it...

    Thanks!

  • @diannadavid this video is really, really awesome! thanks!

PS: you should consider changing the title of the video so its easier to find from the search bar!

  • This video may be from 2008, but it is helping me *today*. :) I have a ball and am going to work daily-just started. This was a great starter tutorial, and I look forward to all that I learn, so I can create my own tricks down the road. Really excited about the (even tedious) learning process. :)

  • great video. Where did you get your red ball from?

  • @bringmesomepie

you can practice with the chinese medicine balls, sure! They maybe a little small and harder to learn off of if you are trying to do some rolling up and down your arm. The larger the ball the slower it rolls and the better you can learn the control. However, if you are doing the simple translation tricks on this video you can simply use any ball that is solid in color. GOod luck!

  • @diannadavid Cool! thanks!

    and I think youre awesome!

  • cool!

how bout chinese medicine balls? is it possible to contact juggle with them if theyre patternless?

  • This is so inspiring! Thank you so much :D

  • Im really trying to do this and all I have right now is an orange. Im working on getting me a ball but thank you, this is a really big motivation to me getting into this. Thank you so much !

  • Right on, I have been looking into doing this myself... just watching your video, I already see this is a possibility, Thanks!

  • thanks for tue tutorial.

I just bought my first ball and it's a good beginning.

  • thank you very much! and keep juggling!

  • Very cool beginner's lesson ^_^ I really want to try this now. Love the sound effects too! I do too just in everyday tasks, lol.

  • I seriously want to learn this, but I need to buy a ball first. What I'm using doesn't show the illusion (all the balls have markings on them). What would be the best ball for a beginner to use and are there any available at Wal-Mart or such stores?

  • Cool video. I've been watching a load of Contact Juggling videos and really want to try it for myself so I'll be relying on Youtube videos to help me out!! =^_^=

  • adorei seu vlog.. ajuda a divulgar o meu?

  • You are an excellent teacher.

  • This looks like a fun thing to learn. Thanks for creating this video, but I just have one question. Is contact juggling good or bad for RSI? I work in IT so my wrists get sore, but I'm always looking for interesting ways to exercise them. Contact juggling looks like it could be good..

  • Great lesson looking forward to more, you are very easy to understand, and follow along with, keep up the great work.

  • Awesome! I'm just getting started. Thanks for the help!

  • WoW Thanks! I will take that challenge!

  • Hey, aren't you the one who went to Simon Fraser Elementary a few days ago to do the "Look Closer" thing?

  • If I'm just learning how to CJ, can I still use a ball with seams without wrapping it up in tape? I don't want to start purchasing a nice CJ ball until I feel more comfortable with the basics, and I'm using my dad's practice juggling balls, so I'd rather not color them if I can help it.

  • Thanks for a simple explanation of isolations! I was trying to figure that one out. I'm limbering up with my small Chinese exercise balls while I wait (impatiently) for the mail carrier to bring my silicone ball.

  • thankyou SO much for this it's really helped me!

  • Those crystal balls remind me of David Bowie's character contact juggling in the 80's movie "Labyrinth" =D

    Anyway, thanks for posting this!

    I

  • Thanks for the websites and the tips! I have been thinking about learning how to contact juggle and you have inspired me to do so. I'm going to start as soon as I have the time to do so.

  • You came to my school

  • thanks for the tips on the 'do it yourself' contact juggling balls (just add sand). I'm getting mine through mail order as I write this, but I've been scouring the city for months (Ottawa) for any reasonable facsimile without luck. I plan to make several practice balls for the kids using this method. Thanks again for the great video!

  • Wow. I actually got me these two balls because I thought they were pretty ^^; ~ Now I wanted to try it out and... ACK! Totally owned!

I absolutely fail doing this with my left. Got to really try this out I guess~ Nice video! Thanks for the motivation~

  • well. i've learned it may not seem like you're doing a whole lot going slow, but that actually is the illusion itself. Even though I'm pretty good now, people still tell me to slow down....that's the secret! Control and accuracy wins the game. Wow, all news to me.

  • Very good tutorial! I tried some few days some months ago (I'm not good at all. I can just do 1 move :D), but I was too lazy to continue, but once I saw this, you really want me to get started again. I will deffinatly start practising what you showed us here. You're also very funny and cute ;-)

  • Have fun in Edmonton!! nice vid

  • Love your dancing and Contact Juggling.

I must say u r one of my favorite idols.

    (Sorry for the fan boyness)

But could u post a video of the two handed rub off ball and make it float thing?

  • hiya! Thank you so much! I'll try and put something up soon for ya! -dianna

  • Thank Brinechild!

I like your videos too! if I could suggest...MUSIC would be great with your Silent Film tutorials.

  • yeah probably a good idea, i wanted to keep them completely legal so they could be shared around, but a little bit of royalty-free music could be good.

This could be the inspiration I need to make some semi-decent videos. Cheers.

  • FANtastic, probably the best free lesson I've seen yet. Kinda makes me wish I'd put some kind of effort into making mine. Ho hum.

Mind if I link this off my butterfly video? this is such a better starting point, any plans for more contact tutorials?

  • well...i could try doing more. just so tied up. Totally don't mind about the link. thanks!
