1. It's not a radar / laser detector, it's a GPS camera locator, so not it does not detect laser.
2. detecting laser is pointless as it's too slow. By the time a laser detector detects it, the gun has already recorded your speed. Investigate laser jammers like the Blinder M27.
Is the detector that you are using to detect the police radar/laser itself detectable by police??? coz if it is, it will be confiscated and you'd also have to pay handsome amount of fine.
@muzammilali007 The Cheetah GPS mirror is not a radar or laser detector - it's a GPS device, so legally it's classed in the same way as a Tom Tom or garmin, etc.
There is a Valentine 1 radar detector used as part of this old demo video and the legality of radar detectors varies from state to state and country to country.
I have a Range Rover Sport which has a very large standard rearview mirror. Although the measurements of the Cheetah are larger than my standard mirror & the clips will expand wide enough I would like reassurance that the clips will hold it in place as the standard mirror is 4.4cm deep & does not seem to taper towards the windscreen. Also with the standard mirror being so large i.e. 26.5cm wide x 7.4cm high, will this interfere with the GPS signal or speaker?
Please tell me you can turn off the mirror display of your current driving speed? There's no point spending a bomb on anti radar / laser equipment if the cop can read / record your current speed on your own equipment.
We use a NIGHTblue anti glare coating rather than auto-dimming. It gives better night vision (i.e. doesn't go as dark as auto dim so you can still see what's going on) but you are not dazzled, even by those xenon bulbs. It's better than auto dim
It doesn't affect the V1 in any way - your valentine display still works exactly the same as normal. The only way to disable the valentine display is to connect a Valentine Concealed display
does it work in south america?

So you're telling me, that this is NOT a radar-detector ? ...but simply a GPS ? ...like Garmin, iGO, TomTOm ?!? Are you sure ?
What if i can't upgrade it more than 3 months ? It won't work independently ?
I'm asking this, coz in their page i read something different...

Just bought this to compliment my Valentine 1 radar detector. Excellent product!!!

When you use it, can it turn off the lights of the Valentine? What doesn't it show in the mirror? Presumably the number of bogeys? What else?
