    Cheers

  • thank you for taking so much time behind the scene my question is why did you shoot in manual power at 1/8 instead of nikon cls? thank you

  • @papiwe1 I am more comfortable in manual for off camera flash.

  • this video takes a lot of effort from you... thank you so much for sharing...

  • @chemroom glad you enjoyed it.

  • Hi Matt, thanks for the wedding tutorial, I will put it into practice at my daughter's wedding in February. Any advice?

  • @whanauli1 you are welcome. Advice - watch the series again, charge and check everything before packing, take lots of spare batteries and cards, take your time on the day.

  • i have no idea what motivates you to spend all of the time and effort that you must go through to create these videos but i hope whatever it is it continues because these are excellent. great job

  • @sg100000000 It's all part of a plan for world domination ;-)

    Glad you like them.

  • i have no idea what motivates you to spend all the time and effrt to

  • Another great video. Love the BTS. It's not long at all. Thanks for sharing your thought process on the day. Super effort managing the job and doing the BTS without an assistant.

  • @ranhma thanks for the comment.

  • @Hansvtm See you then!

  • @Hansvtm See you then!

  • Thanks Matt! Continue with the behind the scenes, great learning points as well.

  • @4DSquad cheers

  • Wow, great video. I like the group shot setup section; It's helpful to see the thought process, then the actual lighting setup, then the finished images. It's amazing what one can accomplish with a couple of lightstands and speedlights.

  • Matt, thank you so much for sharing the entire sequence of the wedding flow. My first wedding is this weekend ( my first as the Only shooter that is, not as the second shooter) and this post really showed me what to expect. I like hearing how you are thinking things thru. You give this skill a humanistic view - something that everyone else out there on youtube has failed to do. Please keep being so wonderfully candid and helpful!!! Wish me luck for this weekend!! Thanks - Julie

  • @kurtschoemig Thank you so much for your glowing feedback - nice to hear.

All the best for your shoot. Get there early, plan things out, and remain calm as things go off road. Assuming it is a paid job - make sure you check in with the couple (or their delegate) a few times to see if they want anything else, any more group shots etc - so the onus is on them that all is covered.

Please share some of your shots on the flickr/facebook pages. :)

  • Great video. I like it that you include the behind the scenes. People who don't like it can always skip past it.

  • @MrNullifier thanks, good point.

  • Another great video. Thank's Matt!

  • @brierleyphoto thank you - you're welcome.

  • Another great video. Thank's Matt!

  • Thanks for another in the wedding series. I think its good to have the behind the scenes section but would suggest speeding it up with something like Twixtor in post processing. Also would be nice to get some more behind the scenes stuff with dealing with difficult lighting like on the dance floor. What was going on in your mind, what are you meetering from... etc. Keep it up

    from thatcanonguy

  • @alanemail11 Thank you - all good tips. I have another wedding last day of month, will try to keep that all in mind then.

  • keep the long part!!!! Thanks

  • @stanboy123 cheers

  • excellent, the behind the scenes stuff was very useful to me, please keep more like this coming, also other non wedding shoots would be great

  • @mpsje cool - I will be putting up a couple a week from now on - wedding series just here and there. Please subscribe to keep up to date.

  • wow u r really a multitasking guy, scouting, video tutorial during wedding etc. Salute u mate. So far u r best, better than the other youtube photographer wannabe.

  • @leeaman88 thank you! Please subscribe, more videos coming soon.

  • From Denmark - thanks a bunch for a helpful and inspirational video!

  • @polloloco26 Thanks - great to get nice feedback - you are welcome.

  • Much prefer this to all the other wedding vids you have done, not that they are no good but this is much more detailed, gives us a proper look at how it's done and gives us a chance to compare it to how we do it. More like this :)

  • @MrDannyDMR thanks for feedback. One more this month on weddings.

  • Can't wait ;)

  • It is perfect.. the setup is the most interesting part!!!

Was the low/high light the one that pushed you to BW?

  • @augustomet thanks. What do you mean by your qn? Sorry, I don't understand.

  • great stuff. The behind scenes was best part. In my opinion , videos are not too long. Sorry to bother , bur extensive post processing video wud really complete this series ( if u got time, that is :-) ). thanks

  • @devwag thanks for the comment. Wil lookat a processing video.

  • You are doing the best videos about "how to shoot a wedding".Like always...good work :)

  • @82ngt thanks

  • Excellent video on how you shoot a wedding, and all the info you have given, a good video for photographer's that are moving into Wedding Photography.

Just one thing that stuck out to me>>>> are you wearing trainers?

    Regards Terry.

    Langtoft Photography..

  • @Langtoftphotography Hi Terry - thanks. Trainers - sure am. Terrible style I know, but in terms of comfort (on feet all day) and OHS (climbing ladders etc) - I very rarely wear anything else to a shoot.
