  • This was the song back in my day 80s baby!!! When real music was being played now adays it is just a mess!

  • @TheQueenofPoetry19 .....Absolutely!!!

  • The first album "Affection" was freakin' hot. She got rid of the club heavy beats and her youthful style after the "Affection" era for a softer look on her sophmore album "Real Love" to showcase her talent more I think. She should've waited for her 3rd or 4th album to that.

  • Thumbs up if you listen to this at 2012!

  • the most horrible haircut looks gorgeous on her...

  • This was my cut LOL old skool

  • Y'all, this was my JAM when I was six man!!!...me singin' my heart out in our black '86 Astrovan.....yep....

  • One of the most amazing vocalists of the 90's. I miss music like this.

  • British R and B was so good. Don't make music like this any more. Soul to Soul, Maxi Priest, Lisa, music too good to be true

  • Im 14 too and she is good i listen to stevie wonder and minnie riperton all the time and she is definitely my new itunes song!

  • facebook says this was number one song when i was born.. nov 15 1989 lol thought id check it out

  • I noticed there's something similar about a certain part in this song that sounds a bit similar to Streets of Rage

  • @Ivor356 That's real homie. It's the same background drum sample used for the intro to Streets of rage when you wait past the title. I was a freshmen in high school when this song was new and I remember saying the same thing when Streets of rage actually came out.

  • @PumaSweat streets of rage 1 or 2?

  • @kiduprock04 Both really but I was thinking of 1. Both games have a very similar theme in the beginning.

  • Lov this song .... Where r u Lisa

  • Where did good music go? We need to warp back to the 80's/early 90's and bring these artists back to the future.

  • Does it matter that she isn't "Black"? Give me a break.

  • The best white R&B singers historically have been British: Dusty Springfield, Boy George, George Michael (who also hit the R&B chart), the Simply Red dude, Lisa Stansfield, the Jamiroquai dude, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Adele, etc.. Thus, Lisa Stansfield's success in the '90s should've been no surprise. Regardless of race, this cut is a jam! That's why "All Around The World" was a #1 U.S. R&B hit for Lisa Stansfield.

  • @herkeda I wouldn't classify Adele as R&B, though. She's more of a soul & pop artist!

  • @herkeda you forgot lulu bit that ok

  • the fact that everyone thought she was black means she had some soul :) reminds me of Michael McDonald or Rick Roll with "Never gonna give you up" or

  • dis my kjnew joint

  • i love this song...kept trying to remember the title so I could see it here...... thanks for the posting

  • I remember hearing this on the radio when I was in grade 7 lol, And it's still a cool song!!

  • Just heard this song shopping at the super market. Now I'm on youtube listening to it. It's funny how well trained we are. . . .

  • One of my favorite songs. Girl can sannnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg!!

  • This was the song! 90's music was so good..idk about this music :-/

  • Even after all the years...this song still rawks!!!

  • It takes a truly sexy broad to pull off a damn-near buzzcut. I present to you.... Lisa Stansfield! (albeit "back in the day" ...)

  • This is the jam......All around the world....wow..how the time quickly flies and the music started to stink after 2004.

  • @moonwalkergal think the same every time I hear Pitbull, Bieber and other nowadays popular 'singers'

  • @Vladormcf right.....i just want to know why they are popular!

  • @moonwalkergal I know! I rather be born in the 70's though

  • @Serenityrockstar me too the 70's seeme pretty cool :))

  • @moonwalkergal See,another person agrees with me. My friend said that she rather live now instead of the 70's. The 70's had some awesome styles!

  • A previous post was about a user's mom that passed away. Smh

  • My mom loved this song. She died while I was a baby. Now,I'm 16 and I listen to this song very often, wishing she's next to me.Even though I never met her,I love her so much. I miss her everyday of my life...But,I know one thing: I can always find her in my heart and mind, she'll live inside of me eternally.

  • I THOUGHT SHE WAS THE 5TH MAN TEE HEE

  • nice

  • How many of you thought she was black when you heard her on the radio as a kid

  • @fredmand It just goes to show that white folks have soul too!

  • @catfigura of course look at Teena Marie Micheal McDonald I feel you

  • @fredmand She is Black, It is impossible for anyone other than a Blacxk woman to sing like this. I don't care how light her skin is.

  • @User5973 Really

  • @User5973 LOL, that's what people said before they saw what Amy Winehouse looked like. The brits got a lot of blue-eyed soul singers.

  • Fave from back when MTV actually played music videos!

  • This song literally brought races together......EVERYONE was singing this song when it came out......even my black ass!!!!

  • @Xzamilloh All I can say is... Amen to that, brother.

  • Arr Yea Where u at babe lol <<Good Jam

  • this is one white girl with plenty of soul-or should I say seoul-something like that! anyway-she's awsome!

  • 35 people have NEVER been around the world.

  • God I love this women. That song takes me back!!!!! Way back! Damn!

  • I still have a crush on her.....

  • This song still sounds good today, like I knew it would back in the day

  • Wow, a female singer with ACTUAL talent who doesn't have to show off her tits and ass. Take me back to 1990!

  • @hardtechnoboy dude I totally feel you there this girl is amazing this song is the shit. I dont know what happened to music to bring it to where it is now

  • I was really little when I first heard this song, even, if I wasn't born in the 80's but, in the 90's, this came on the radio most of the times, sometimes, I wish we can have type of music like this again, because, I can't find any music now that's good like this song... -_-

  • 34 people never found their baby.

  • No, you didn't post Lisa.. Wow taking me way back. I was like 8 when this came out.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait...I thought this was sang by a black person

  • @missbham205 That's why it's called Blue-Eyed Soul.

  • @missbham205 some brits like Lisa, and sinead o'connor have soulful voices. I also like blue eyed soul such as Kenny Loggins (heart to heart) or real old skool band like Dr. Hook (sharing the night).

  • @BEAUMECLOKAL don't forget Dan Hartmann (i can dream about you)

  • @missbham205 I thought the same thing. You're not alone.

  • @missbham205 //nope...white & british!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is my jam

  • THIS WAS MY JAM WHEN IS WAS LIKE 4, LOL!!! YES I HAD MY SONGS BACK THEN, LOL!!!

  • @naturaluv85 OMG. i thought i was the only one.lol I remember so many jamz from a super young age.

  • @lovepigz2007 Oh yeah, thank God I do have memories of listening to good music when I was younger. I was born in 1985, so I can kind of remember music from 80's. This is when I fell in love with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and not long after them, Mariah Carey in the early 90's. AAAHHH, the good old days!! Atleast Janet is still out there doing her thing. R.I.P. MJ and Luther.

  • @naturaluv85

Good Lord, lol, I was just graduating High School when this was popular lol! Those were the days though *sigh*...

  • @naturaluv85 You where a really smart kid. haha

  • @naturaluv85 my jam at 4 was strawberry, 5 pm its blueberry and then around 6 I have strawberry again. that is what you;re talking about right?

  • @naturaluv85 Lol hey me too! I was 7 or 8 & remember loving this song every time it aired on the radio & still do.

  • I can really appreciate her dedication... she's been around the world and even a place called Iyai, yai yai, and she still didn't find him...I've been re-examining my geography!!!

  • I can really appreciate her dediacation... she's been around the world and even a place called Iyai, yai yai, and she still didn't find him...I've been re-examining my geography!!!

  • I was in highschool when this song came out. I loved it then and love it now. While I like her singing and the beat, I have to admit that personally, it was the violins that really made this song kick. If you removed the strings, it probably wouldn't move me as much. When they were recording this song, I wonder who decided to add a string section at a time when no one was doing strings in the 80s/90s. Strings had fallen out of favor after the 70s so I think they were taking a risk and it worked.

  • 1989 or 1990

I meant her hair. That GOD AWFUL "Greaser" hairstyle. She looks pretty hot with a regular do otherwise.

  • @doucheku

Like honestly, I believe that her baby ran away when she started rockin' that style.

  • Still love this song! Some songs are simply timeless...

  • I would LOVE to go back to the early 90s! It was such a fun time, and so much good music!!
