The first album "Affection" was freakin' hot. She got rid of the club heavy beats and her youthful style after the "Affection" era for a softer look on her sophmore album "Real Love" to showcase her talent more I think. She should've waited for her 3rd or 4th album to that.
@Ivor356 That's real homie. It's the same background drum sample used for the intro to Streets of rage when you wait past the title. I was a freshmen in high school when this song was new and I remember saying the same thing when Streets of rage actually came out.

The best white R&B singers historically have been British: Dusty Springfield, Boy George, George Michael (who also hit the R&B chart), the Simply Red dude, Lisa Stansfield, the Jamiroquai dude, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Adele, etc.. Thus, Lisa Stansfield's success in the '90s should've been no surprise. Regardless of race, this cut is a jam! That's why "All Around The World" was a #1 U.S. R&B hit for Lisa Stansfield.
I love this song and I love youtube for having EVERYTHING. I look up all my 80's music from when I was little and all the 90's r & b jams from the 90's when I was in Jr. High and High School.
yo yo yo this is my jam "been around the world an ya ya ya i cant find my baby" this is the song i love this song especcially to be fourteen this is my jam!!!!! P.S i wouldnt go around the world to look for my baby
My mom loved this song. She died while I was a baby. Now,I'm 16 and I listen to this song very often, wishing she's next to me.Even though I never met her,I love her so much. I miss her everyday of my life...But,I know one thing: I can always find her in my heart and mind, she'll live inside of me eternally.
@hardtechnoboy dude I totally feel you there this girl is amazing this song is the shit. I dont know what happened to music to bring it to where it is now
I was really little when I first heard this song, even, if I wasn't born in the 80's but, in the 90's, this came on the radio most of the times, sometimes, I wish we can have type of music like this again, because, I can't find any music now that's good like this song... -_-
@missbham205 some brits like Lisa, and sinead o'connor have soulful voices. I also like blue eyed soul such as Kenny Loggins (heart to heart) or real old skool band like Dr. Hook (sharing the night).
@lovepigz2007 Oh yeah, thank God I do have memories of listening to good music when I was younger. I was born in 1985, so I can kind of remember music from 80's. This is when I fell in love with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and not long after them, Mariah Carey in the early 90's. AAAHHH, the good old days!! Atleast Janet is still out there doing her thing. R.I.P. MJ and Luther.
I can really appreciate her dedication... she's been around the world and even a place called Iyai, yai yai, and she still didn't find him...I've been re-examining my geography!!!
I can really appreciate her dediacation... she's been around the world and even a place called Iyai, yai yai, and she still didn't find him...I've been re-examining my geography!!!
I was in highschool when this song came out. I loved it then and love it now. While I like her singing and the beat, I have to admit that personally, it was the violins that really made this song kick. If you removed the strings, it probably wouldn't move me as much. When they were recording this song, I wonder who decided to add a string section at a time when no one was doing strings in the 80s/90s. Strings had fallen out of favor after the 70s so I think they were taking a risk and it worked.
