  • Saint-Saens recorded both on roll and disc, in some cases the same pieces. Yes, it would be wonderful if any recordings by Sant-Saens of Chopin or Liszt had come down to us. Saint-Saens played for Chopin at the age of nine. He was a close friend of Liszt who thought highly of his interpretations of Liszt's piano works.

  • @gerardbedecarter There are plenty of great early recordings of Liszt's and Chopin's works, few of Saint-Saens. Glad to hear the few on YT by the composer himself.

  • omg this is some sick piano playing!!! It doesn't even sound like he is old or having any technical problems at all!!!!

    THANKS!

  • anyone knows if he recorded his etude in form of waltz?

  • Amazing fingers for a man of nearly seventy.

  • I remember the first time I heard this recording, I was simply stunned at what an amazing pianist he was. He can match any recorded pianist for sheer technique.

  • Ditto on billystewart's comment. I never knew there were any recordings of Saint-Saens. Thank you very much for posting this.

  • BRAVO

  • Sound quality matters not when you have something as amazing as this. A recording of Camille Saint-Saens performing his own piece. Thank you very much!
