Saint-Saens recorded both on roll and disc, in some cases the same pieces. Yes, it would be wonderful if any recordings by Sant-Saens of Chopin or Liszt had come down to us. Saint-Saens played for Chopin at the age of nine. He was a close friend of Liszt who thought highly of his interpretations of Liszt's piano works.
@gerardbedecarter There are plenty of great early recordings of Liszt's and Chopin's works, few of Saint-Saens. Glad to hear the few on YT by the composer himself.
I remember the first time I heard this recording, I was simply stunned at what an amazing pianist he was. He can match any recorded pianist for sheer technique.
Sound quality matters not when you have something as amazing as this. A recording of Camille Saint-Saens performing his own piece. Thank you very much!

Ditto on billystewart's comment. I never knew there were any recordings of Saint-Saens. Thank you very much for posting this.
