The minute and a half he spends starting from 6:30 searching through the songs seems to reveal a problem with the Serato Itch's system for searching. Are the songs just listed as one gigantic playlist, or is there a facility for organising them into 'crates' of some kind, *and* to be able to go directly to seek out certain songs with less twiddling about, all from the hardware and not having to touch the computer? (I'm not familiar with Serato, so apologies if this is an obvious question)

the serato app on your pc or mac does have the ability to create crates. There are several different means to organize/filter music. If you are an itunes clone, you can just import your itunes playlists.
