Hey man, let me ask You a question, I have a boss CE-5 too and I've always used only one output of this pedal (mono) with the volume at 12 hours, these days I tried to use it in stereo, but I realized that in stereo if the volume is at 5, when I turn it on, it looses gain (distorted) or volume (clean), so the volume knob has to be at 3 hours to avoid this. Is your pedal like that too? I found it strange!
@ROBBEMALL666 It depends what your connecting too, the output will need to be stereo so if your connecting to an amp you will need either two mono amps (one for left and one for right) or a stereo amp. Then you connect output A of the pedal to the left channel and output B to the right channel. Hope this helps
I think the best BOSS pedals are: D-D7 Digital Delay, Chromatic Tuner, and maybe Chrous Ensamble CE-5. Indeed, as last one: Digital Reverb. The other kind of Mod and OD/Dist i rather MXR and Electro-Harmonix. Z.Vex in some mad FX's, and in wha's sound Dunlop Cry Baby or Real McCoy.
This pedal is a pretty good chorus pedal, depending on your style though, it might not be necessary. I use these pedals:
DD3 Digital Delay
OD3 Overdrive
NS-2 Noise Supressor
CS-3 Compressor
CE-2 Chorus
RC20 XL Loopstation
I reccomend the delay, the compressor, and the noise surpressor. They come extremely useful. Lot's of boss's distortions/od's have alot of noise on them, the NS-2 is awesome for it. The compressor gives my tone a nice poppy sound
hi, i havnt personally used the super chorus however looking at the boss website it seems that the only difference between the two is the tone controls. the super chorus has a simple low-hi tone control whereas the CE-5 has both high and low pass filters. If you want a simple chorus then the super chorus might be better however the CE-5 allows more control over the tone
hi most guitar amps are mono, as are many effects the ce5 and the boss dd3 are stereo. therefore output two signals (left and right) from jack sockets A and B. If you are using it in mono just use one output, boss suggest output A.
To be very clear, the 2 output jacks are for the left channel and right channel. While you don't NEED to use them, this pedal is a stereo pedal and it will open up it's sound a lot more using two channels of audio. Each channel will be a little different from the other, creating a wider and more unique effect. A lot of professional players run stereo cause it sound absolutely awesome. You can run Mono (usually left output or output A on Boss) and still get a good sound though.
I will sometimes plug my amp into the second output only, it gives a sickly detuned sound. Kinda reminds me of the modualation on the old phonograph recordings. Ive got the older analog version.
yeah if you want it in stereo plug in two amps, left will come out of one and right will come out of the other. ive done it once and it sounds pretty cool...
cool thanx.i needed to no bc i got a little zakk wylde orginal rig.liek the hendrix wah boss ce 5 overdrive and i hav 2 marshall microstacks.and i didnt wanna try pluggin it in so it wouldnt explode or sumthing lol
hmm should be ok. you need to have two heads, not just one head and two speakers if you plug straight into a speaker i dont think it will work hope that helps
the CE5 has stereo outputs, so output A is the left and output B is right this demo is in mono as youtube only supports mono, I provided a link in the video description this should take you to a stereo version of the video!
I'm fairly new to this. I know it will split into two amps. Does it pan back and forth between the two? And if so, have you tried it and what is your opinion? Thanks!

@avengedguitarfreak
No Boss pedals are. Sometimes it can be good to have a buffered pedal in your chain, tho, so don't assume that since it's FET it must be crap;):)

Do you think the CE-5 Chorus is better than the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus ?
Why ?
Cyberbob182 1 year ago
im not sure i havent tried the CH-1 apparently the CH-1 effects an wider frequency range and the CE-5 effects lower frequecies.
theres a good site called bossarea that has loads of info about boss pedals see what you can find on there

chorus pedals aren't really as necassary as say: an overdrive or a compressor. or definitely a delay.

do you think i should look into buying the ch-1 or the ce-5
i mostly will use chorus for the smiths
samnninty 2 years ago
@samnninty CE-5 all the way , CH-1 sucks .

@VertSpike disagree. Boss compressor sucks tone and has an annoying buzz most of the time

Why are there 2 outputs jacks, I am a beginner and I am planning on by this, and I was also wondering why my Boss digital delay 3 had 2 output jacks
