If you play a sucky game you expect the ending not to suck, it's like gaming 101. >.< Even in todays games from time to time you still get terrible endings, of course anymore your so distracted by say the graphics and other stuff not to pay as much attention as you would say these older games, because games have some a long way since then, well some to most games have, but thats just my opinion.

That streets of rage ending shouldn't have been there. It's one of the better ones.

*spoilers* it's one of the rare moments in video games (especially for an old 16bit game) when you get a chance for the good guy to be a bad guy (no typical "save the day" type ending).

Also, I like the laugh they do at the end of the credits (not shown here).

Alot of these games couldn't help having "bad" ending because the memory or graphics wasn't good enought to compare to the trouble you went through to beat them. It's games that could/can deliver an ending worth beating the game for but don't that deserve to be on this list. Modern games are the ones most guilty of this because they're able to complete just about any story in any way they choose, so you can tell how much thought went into making the game by watching the ending.

The lion king ending should've been longer. It should've shown the true kingdom (in other words...had a scrolling/scrolled and/or animated ending showing all the land) ratther than just have a sound byte playing at the cliff - thus turning it into a much too short (and therefore lame) ending. I thought the "let's get a burger with the president" ending for bad dudes wasn't so bad though....pretty funny ending....like a b movie or "worse" than b movie ending for a game - so bad it's good

OMG I remember Bart's Nightmare...! Probably one of the most frustrating games of all time. The game controls were terrible, graphics looked like they were done with Mario Paint (it's supposed to look "animated" but cmon, is that all they could come up with??) , and the music seemed to have nothing to do with the Simpsons what so ever.

All games from "Acclaim" had terrible controls and sparse music/sound. Thank god they went belly up.

I can't judge too harshly on the old 8-bit game endings (since story telling wasn't crucial in the the olden times of gaming), but when any game just ends abruptly and/or with a pretty ridiculous text message, that's just bad, lame, and ruins the game experience.

Worst is games that end up being a dream/simulation (I see the simpsons had a knack for such a plot twist). This also applies to Super Mario Bros. 2 (the one with Birdo in it), just because it was so freakin' long!!
