to this day scientists are still researching ways to go deeper into sea trenches, but there are so many more things we have not yet discovered, it is quiet possible that there are other scary fish that lurk in the dark. i for one believe that prehistoric fish survived due to the fact that they have been down there millions of years and they have been untouched. im just waiting for the day that we can explore the deep sea and find many more wonderful sea creatures.
