  • hank sure was and is the best musician that ever lived we will never see his like again what a talent his voice is just amazing and now weve got the williams dynisty

  • Who else can have such an influence on his chosen genre of music nearly 60 (five dozen) years after his passing? ? ?

Hank Williams was, no, IS the greatest! !

  • Very good--as all he recorded!

  • I ,ve been a hank fan all my life,Great song.GARY VUORELA

  • This is my favorite song by Hank, or is my favorite "Never Again Will I knock On Your Door" or is it "Mansion On the Hill", or is........, I give up, all of his sad songs are my favorite! Hank's music brought me so much joy. I don't remember which of his songs I first heard back in the 40s. It might have been "Never Again" or "Last Night I Heard You Crying In Your Sleep" but from that moment I was hooked for life.

    Thanks for your posts

  • this song brings back so many memories of mom and dad singing, entertaining visitors in our home...and they would sing this song in the Cree language as well...one of my all time favorites! Thank you Hank Williams!

  • This is another one of Hanks really great songs. A real tear jerker.

  • My dad( in Indian summer) would sit on the porch playing harmonica and I would .Wonderful childhood memories , my dad has been dead for 4 years and was a deadringer for Johnny Cash when JC was younger.Come to think of it he still kinda resembled him when he got older too.

  • Hank, you will always be in our hearts. No one comes even close to you. I will love you until I am on the other side of the dirt.......

  • this was the first duo by hank , and jr.not tear in my beer . look it up

  • What a phenomenal talent.

  • simply amazing!! sing it Hank!!! Nobody else will EVER touch your talent!

  • Father abandoned mom with 5 kids in 1950. She was left alone to raise and feed us on a $ 140.00 per month welfare check. I recall the rent for the house we lived in was $ 75.00 per month then. That didn't leave her much. I slept on a mattress on the basement floor next to the huge oil furnace those days and I could her right above me, where her bedroom was, play this song over and over. I also remember her crying while the song played.I feel emotional just thinking about those days.God Bless Mom

  • much better then junior and the 3rd

  • hanks god

  • i can never keep it together when this song plays...i just hafta hear it..

  • I thought Porter Wagoner had a great rendition of this one as well. And according to the credits on the album he included this song on ( Confessions of a Broken Man), Hank is credited with writing this song.

  • the-greatest-singer-of-all-time-we-love-hank-s-r-

    plus, its the "blues"

  • Hurting or not this is the greatest of all Hank's songs he wrote and sang...

  • Hank had that special something...no question about it. He is truly the greatest that ever lived.

  • you hit the nail on the head

  • great Singer he just let it flow. bee\ats new county. stood the test of time..

  • never been a better singer before or after

  • Love this song!

  • I love listening to one of the founding fathers of REAL country music.

  • One of the saddest Hank songs ever, describing feelings that we've all experienced.

  • Rockhunter42. Like all his songs, thay just make you wont to sing. Hear one and

    hume it for weeks.

  • I can't imagine the pain Hank felt when He wrote down the words to this song.

To bad todays country music doesn't get it. Country music should come from the heart just like Hank wrote it.

  • @MrSrh49 hE DIDN'T WRITE THIS, HANK ON RARE OCCASION DID BORROW FROM OTHER WRITERS.... I BELIEVE THIS IS A LEON PAYNE SONG, SAME WRITER AS THEY'LL NEVER TAKE HER LOVE FROM ME....

  • @douglaswsandy Hank did indeed write this. Leon Payne wrote The Lost Highway. Whoever wrote the song Hank made it a Hank Williams song.

  • A very true singer I like this song didnt hear since along time tks for posting

  • This man was truly in touch with human nature and the true things that mattered and occurred in life. Modern Music will never have these tangible lyrics...

  • i can understand this song verry well because ive ben there.

  • thanks for posting alan, as this is my favorite hank song & is hard to find

  • True Country Music Wish It Was Like That Now.

  • Hanks voice, drifting cowboys, the songs! Man, they all played a big part in hanks success. I still have yet to hear anyone do a hank song better than hank himself.

  • So true whiteavenger33, NO ONE CAN EQUAL HANK, there are some great covers, like by Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings & Bocephus, but they all fall short of the KING of COUNTRY MUSIC's versions, yes, HANK WILLIAMS, SR.!!!

  • Alan,I hope you don't mind me adding some of your songs to my favorites.I love these Hank songs.5*****'s. Shirley

  • Don't worry Shirley, I'm doing the same thing, *****

  • Ole Hank is the best who is playing the mandolin
