@ceriana11 Hi there, There was never a ribber made for the MK70. Garter stitch could be created by either using a 6mm garter bar or by knitting a row, removing it on waste yarn, turning and rehanging it, then knitting the next row, and repeating that over and over. A garter bar would be a whole lot faster!
Hi, I just bought one of these. When I got the bed ends in place I found that one won't pull out so I can fold it back up. Any idea why it would be stuck? Also just curious what these might be worth. I just paid $65 and hope I didn't overpay!
This could be a silly question, but I will ask it anyway. Can the blank punchcards from the 12 or 24 stitch cards be modified to use on the MK70. The 18 stitch punchcards are scarce, well I haven't found any, so maybe I am not looking in the right places. Thanks for any help. Love your demos. Look forward to more.
thank you so much for the video could you please tell me what I should clean the plastic parts with as I think oiling it may have clogged it up. would be greatful for your advise regards Anne
Hi Anne, you can get Singer Oil (same as sewing and knitting machine oil) from big W or some Woolies stores. Do not use too much oil. If you're cleaning any metal bits i've been told a solution of metho and four drops of the oil.
I have watched all of your videos and you are awesome. I wish there more more available for newbies. I just purchased two machines from 1978 that had no manuals. The Silver SK-120 I have somewhat figured out and actually did my first project on, but my Juki KE-2400, which is a punchcard machine, and has a ribber, has me totally baffled. Keep mup the good work! V
I've never seen a Singer 810 and could not find much about it on the internet. Are you able to email me a pic of your machine? I'd love to see it, and could perhaps tell you more about the differences once I see it. TWD :)
Hi Neto, Your best bet is to watch for one on eBay. There is also a yahoo group for this particular machine and you can join that and ask if any members have one to sell. Good luck in your search! TWD :)
Actually I just saw that Lion Brand sells LK-150 midgauge knitting machine. I checked it out to see how much - nearly $400!!!!! So shockingly expensive. It didn't show how it was set up or done until your video. But sadly, since I am Deaf, I have no idea what you said. Wish it was captioned tho.. oh well.
What a fab video! After watching it, I feel sad that I had to sell mine. They are truly unique machines, and I will never understand why they stopped making them! Thanks for making this.
Thank you! Yes they are really unique. I guess they stopped due to supply and demand. It is wonderful though that they built them to last and last. Mine is just like new after all these years :)

Hi Anne! I use Ballistol gun oil on all my machines and really like it. It's a very good, clean product and has never given me any trouble.
Happy knitting, TWD
