I have spent much much much more than that to date. Yes, I have custom head, cylinder, piston, lifter, pushrod, (etc) work done. All specially produced for me. All of it has been done to look as stock as possible.

Very nice bike, not much of a harley guy. More into the rockets myself, Not to be a dick or anything but in order for you to beat those rockets you had to have a ton of mods done to your bike to have them beat just a 600. That amount of money and you could easily have a 600 destroying your bike. Srry but your bike is 1200cc's not exactly a fair fight, but none the less dude very nice bike. Very nice bike, I give you props on it, dont hear that 2 much from a rocket guy bout a harley

Now Im not here ta get into an argument this is not my intent as you do have a very nice bike and will admit that, so lets keep it nice. But you can also add a PC (power commander) as you have, stiffer valve springs, titanium valves, titanium crank, bore and stroke it, decking of the block, exhaust headers and can, matched fuel injectors. Right there your looking at a ton of power for a crotchrocket., A 07 zx6r on methanol makes 138-140hp with 58-60torque. 160hp is easily duable with those mods

Ehh I dont know about that, now I'm not ganna talk any trash on here but stock the sporsters are not all that fast. While the same amount of mods or more mods are able to be done to a sporster I dont know if you'll ever really get a sporster as fast as a crotchrocket is. Plus I've never seen a titanium crankshaft for a harley haha but in the end I just think the rotchrocket will win out via a small margin. It's just designed to be much more aggresive then a sportster is.

IDK...... I mean the harley has the bottom end and will beat the crotchrocket off the line, but straight line speed IDK to much about. But the thing is, how big is your bike(cc wise) compared to the bikes that you are racing????? I'm not saying that your bike is slow cause you obviously have a very mean bike, but engine size to enigne size I just dont see a harley beating a rocket. Maybe down low but but past 130mph, and thats only stright line speed. add corners and the harleys lags behind

Right but a Harley is also 2 Cylinders, a V-Twin, and puts out almost as much if not more torque than it does Horsepower. A crotchrocket is an inline 4 (in most cases), and also meant for horsepower and not torque. In the 1/4 Mile you can do the same amount of work to both bikes and it's all up to the driver. On a road course, gimme a GSXR. But on a straightaway or long distances, Harley or nothing.

If you really wanna eat a crotch rocket, look into a Pingle Air Shifter. I added one to my Nighty a couple months back. Full throttle, clutchless shifting at the push of a button. Even if the punks have you on horsepower, they just cant go through the gears as fast. Has made for more than a few interesting stoplight take-offs and I am bone stock!

Do you know if the Night Rods engine would fit in the Nightster? Would it be too much stuff you have to change? Is this even a good idea? Nice bike BTW.

I am not completely sure.... but I know the chassis layout is way different. As far as I know *imho* it would take SERIOUS crazy mods to do so....with many other things changing. Check with a dealer as they are the pros and know what to do. But that would be sick wouldn't it?

where'd you get the highways pegs? And how badly was your gas mileage effected from your performance upgrades?

I got the pegs @ Harley ...but u can get 'em on Ebay for cheaper. As for the gas mileage....I went up about 2 miles per gallon.

Do you have forward controls installed? In the idle portion of the video I see mid controls with forward highway pegs, but in the driving portion it looks like you are on the forwards the whole time.

Kudos Fearnight! You are quite observant! No I do not have forward controls, only highway pegs. I prefer mid controls just in case I want to do some serious spanking of rice rockets. Otherwise my feet are always on the highway pegs. The "illusion" of forward controls comes from the fact that I use my heels to shift & brake with little movement to manipulate them. This allows me to always be in a "relaxed" position. Thankx 4 the great question!

Sneaky Pete's we call 'em. They are small hidden shots for short quick bursts (suicide bursts!). The beauty of a Harley is that there is so much that you can do to them for performance --- especially the sportster. And it looks so good with or without anything added!

But seriously, this thing is layin' down pure raw power. The torque alone is sick...pure raw power, and I mean power!. I can see 50 miles an hour in 1st gear without trying too hard. And then comes 2nd...and there goes the competition. But wait...there is still 3rd... which is more than enough to carry me into needle burying speeds within seconds...and it still will pull. 4th? I'm not sure that I ever recall using 4th...LOL

And as for it's current state...no one but me truly knows that. What I have listed is to bring a little more awareness to what can be done with HD, for both looks & performance. I never give away all my secrets. That is reserved to be a surprise for any naive kid who thinks he can pull up next to me and "race". They get STOMPED and pull up at the next light with a stunned (if not impressed) look. The normal quote that proceeds the look is, "WOW...That's fast!". They are right. It is VERY fast.
