hi know this is a bit late, but isn't the bit on the suspension on the race one an anti roll bar?
also lolled at the 2 twin webers, only using one barrel! wonder why they didn't get a split weber :) also nice optional extra of the rear wash/wipe....
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

ohk austin, leyland, and morris were companies the minis were made from. the cooper and cooper s were these austin/mrris minis that a guy called john cooper has up-spec'd for racing which these companies put into production. then there is the clubman which austin and leyland made which has the square front
Just to add, Austin Motor Company and Morris Motors were two separate companies, in the early fifties they merged. They were big motor manufacturers in their day which gave the new company issues. There were strong Austin buyers who wouldn't buy Morris's and vice versa. Therefore most cars they produced used both, hence Morris Mini and Austin Mini. Cooper Garages produced race cars and wanted to build a fast version. Therefore the Austin Mini Cooper and the Morris mini cooper was born.

since the mini was in production in for 41 years parts are ready available. The mini lasted longer in hotter countries. In the uk rust killed them.

I think you'll find that exhaust isn't standard on an Austin Cooper S.

these cars rusted so horribly. used to own one. I think they painted them directly rather than rustproof them beforehand. But rather fun to drive
