  • Vidyadhar, I liked it too much. Thanks for bringing classic back here! Superlike!!

  • simply beautiful

  • dadi ne kamal kar diya.... bravo... kudos to dadi

really it takes hell of an age to get that kind of proficiency in playing any instrument... hats off...

  • 1 person who dislike this video is aurangzeb

  • as an instrument to play it is so difficult after almost sixty or more years i have heard

it really soothes your soul so serene and peaceful thanks to you tube and to the company to present this

  • i think jal tarang is the most soothing instrument i have ever herd and it has the power to take my migraines away!

i studied this instrument for a brief time but fell in love with it

although i did not have the time to continue studying it

    i love it!

  • Amazing. God bless you both.

  • muzitek, thanks *so* much for making and uploading this video. I keep coming back to it, because I think Mrs. Ranjana's playing is so beautiful, both technically and artistically. (Fine tabla accompaniment, too!)

I am a percussionist myself and hope that I will be able to keep playing when I am older, as Mrs. Ranjana has done. My very best wishes to her, and to you as well.

  • @numofan

Thank you so much. Age is no barrier as long as you have self belief , interest and passion. blessings from people like you, continue me to play as long as I can. You will do the same.

God bless you and all the best

    Ranjana Pradhan

  • @muzitek Thank you for your reply. I am so glad that you are able to continue playing and loving music. You are an inspiration to me, over here in the US! (And it's always nice to learn about other women musicians. :))

I also really enjoyed the interview with you that was posted by mhcnsw.

All the very best to you!

  • Thanks you so much, I appreciate. I am living in poverty, but blessings and love from passionate and caring people all around , I am happy, I have two square meal, , I do not have to worry about today's rat race and all politics and mistrust.

  • Blessings upon Susri Ranjana!

Thank you so much for uploading.

  • I'm SO glad that most people don't like this kind of music.

Otherwise, that WOULD be Britney Spears up there, butchering the living hell out of such a beautiful and sacred sound.

  • @rainbowscythe

many people do like it and i live in israel but you are right im glad indian musicis not part of american pop i love the purity of indian music old bollywood and mohammed rafi and others they deserve more recegnition than stupid justin bieber

  • having learned and performed tabla for about a decade, I always thought of it as a masculine percussion instrument. These two gread ladies here shook me from within!!

  • What a treat to the ears and the spirit! My deepest pranams to you Madam! What a melodious piece. I am speechless. It is soul reaching music....sheer bliss. I felt that every drop of liquid in my body respond with joy to your music. May God keep you well and may you reach out to millions. The Muse is living in you!

  • No Wards !!!!! Only watch & Listen.

  • jaltarangam rules! I have about 6 cds of this music and have seen two concerst in Wisconsin. I have never heard of this performer before...does she have cds?

  • i got inspired and made my own jal tarang!!though i have no knowledge of Indian classical music, i managed to get the notes in tune. is there any specific standard tuning for jal tarang...thanks for uploading

  • It is really GOOODD

  • India's got talent...many that old lady is too good...Indian women make us proud.

  • un-be-lie-vable!!! the part that ended just before 3:31 secs was beautiful!

this is one "instrument" i am going to learn for sure....its so much fun!!

  • Awestruck, amazing, superb!!! are really small words for her. At her age the ease of her hand and the reflex is nothing short of a magic. I guess all the so called Pop and Rock superstars should spend 6 minutes of their "valuable" time to listen to this video and judge what Indian classical music is all about. I simply touch your feet Ranjana maam. You are my Granny's age and I see goddess saraswati in you. You live looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong and bless us with your blessings.

  • Thanks Mr. Mitra. Your moving thoughts and best wishes touched our hearts. Her blessings to you.

    Writing on behalf of mother.

Ranjana Pradhan is a great practitioner of this rare art. Thank you Kiran pradhan for this upload.

    thats ORIGINAL REALY SUPER TALENT

  • Thanks Ichhier. Your comments means a lot. It is all about marketing and unfortunaltely real artists are deprived of.

  • voll fett

    five stars

  • Hi ! Beautiful. Glass has class. Cheers !

  • patty fino.

  • I feel Respect, Awe, Joy , Pride (that I am an Indian too)and Shame (that this is a dying art in India) all at once..

Srimati: Ranjana Pradhan, you are really an inspiration.

  • nice

  • Of all the people in the world it took a sydney based company to record this video and load it(I dont know who loaded it. But this instrument and its use is a dying art and if one could get this lady to perform the way she is doing it, it goes to explain how much she loves the art and the instrument. Thanks a lot to whoever loaded this.

  • Isn't it amazing! I live in Mumbai, love classical music, and hadn't even heard of Ms. Pradhan!! She must be self-effacing, and Jaltarang not so popular; I used to hear it much more frequently on the radio in my childhood (I am 65).........

  • nice performance, but I would have liked it better had the "Kya baat hai" person kept shut throughout the performance !!

  • Its simply magical to see the movements of twin sticks and both hands that create stunning harmony of 'raaga' in fast tempo, from water bowls, that makes lingering sound notes in your mind.

  • Another good use of ceramic bowls! Excellent Music!
