  • Best partsfor me were 0:01 to 4:14

  • I find that link gets good lookin around ocarina of time

  • i think the reosen you all here starwars and superman is because i think john william composed this soo yeah

  • My cousin came in and heard this. His response?

"Wow dude. Your such a nerd".

Me = "Why thank you. Now get out before I slice you with my light saber". ^^

  • Chaos Leader never found the Lantern.

  • Zelda And Gradius are the, best damn games Nintendo made. crap they have today is lame and stupid, to bad Nintendo sold Gradius to sony (From What I Heard) 93 was the best year games where ever made, hell I play Zelda II still, Gradius III and Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past Are my favorite and I'm 18 years of age, and they haven't made a good game sense

  • @DarkPhoenixization Konami made Gradius, and the Wii has received a new installment called Gradius ReBirth, so get your facts together man.

  • @DarkPhoenixization Konami made Gradius, and the Wii has received a new installment called Gradius ReBirth, so get your facts together man.

  • It's not from John Williams ok? lol

  • This reminded me of the opening of The Real Legend Of Zelda.

  • it's sad that LoZ will never become an amazing film. John Williams would've been the head music transcriber!

  • Dos personas perdieron el sentido del oido...cuando jugaron o cuando vieron este video,,,

  • Ah I havent heard this tune in AGES!

  • wasn't the very opening from Jonny Quest, from cartoon network?

    0:00 - 0:20

    ???

  • 1:08 - 1:18 for some odd reason, I thought of the Star Fox 64 ending here....

  • I think they mean the part at :20 leading up to the main theme sounds like Star Wars. I have a very large musical range and I even thought so.

  • no it's not you ignorant¡¡

  • @chaosLeader0

I find it hilarious that somebody would call Zelda III: A Link to the Past "one of the worst games ever created".

(Seriously: it's the Super Famicom boxart for Zelda III, and it's not for any of the CDi titles)

  • @chaosLeader0

Sigh. I specifically mentioned 'Super Famicom' , because it IS boxart for the Super Famicom, and NOT the Super Nintendo. In other words, this was boxart for Japan only.

Google "Box art for the Japanese release link to the past wikia", and click the wikia link (youtube won't let me post an URL for some reason). Scroll down there. In this video, I cut off parts of the boxart, including the Japanese title.

  • @KajunW I already found it so I could reply to yours without being an ass

  • @chaosLeader0 actually Link had that lame look in ALttP. It just looked a lot cooler as a sprite

  • @chaosLeader0 so you have never looked at the artwork in the booklet of link to the past? I don't have it in front of me but I'm very certain that this art of link is in there, that is basically the overall art style used for the ALttP artworks. How can you confuse that with those CDi atrocities?? :)

  • @DaCellaFella because it looks so similar to the CDi atrocities. Also I feel like I should just delete my original post so that I can just stop getting people replying to me even though I have already said that I was misinformed and said I was wrong.

  • @chaosLeader0 sorry, it just seems to throw people off that you'd confuse the artworks like that :)

  • @chaosLeader0 Dude I love you, you fail so much that I can fuck up all I want but it will never beat what you do.

  • @chaosLeader0

I find it hilarious that your trolling is one of the WORST on YouTube to date.

  • @ViolinSnowKid Its not trolling if you are simply misinformed. Secondly I think that the worst trolling on Youtube to date goes to you my friend.

  • @chaosLeader0

    Dude are completely retarded?

  • @chaosLeader0 WTF!!! A link to the past!! FTW!! you know in the SNES era. the legend of zelda was king while games like final fanatasy were still in diapers...

I remembre trying Final fantasy 2 after finishing A link to the past... And it felt like a bad copy of the zelda series with boring fighting mechanics....

  • @chaosLeader0 ...isn't the legend of zelda: a link to the past thought by MANY to be one of if not THE best zelda game?

you might be thinking of faces of evil or wand of gamelon. =/

  • @chaosLeader0 Who cares about the picture when the music is this epic??

  • @chaosLeader0 YOU ARE SHIT

    選れs運いぢおた間lぢと日所で津ペッら間dれ間も名y手具s他食えてこじぇn

  • Zelda wouldn't be where it is today without the ingenuity of it's music composers

  • sounds like Superman

  • Lol look at LInk he has a funny nose. It looks more like a tv show pic than some videogame artwork.

  • @TwilightPrincess841 i think this IS from the tv show im not shure

  • @zoralink113 No, no this picture is from the manual of the first game, its concept art.

  • Dudes I TOTALLY heard the Superman theme from 0:18 - 0:26

  • @sabata2 lol me 2

  • haha before i looked at the comments i thought the same thing

  • Comment removed

  • I burned this on a CD once, John Williams is the maestro.

  • C'mon guys, you only say this sounds like Star Wars is because of the emphasis on brass instruments, along with a few other details. You're probably the same kinda people who say all rock sound the same and all metal sounds the same. :(

Sorry if I sound like an asshole, but seriously, widen your musical tastes. For your own good!

  • @zzzra86 Oh, the similarities go a lot deeper. The stacked fourths in a crescendo are a typical Williams transition. The staccato trombones + snare drum switching between four time and quarter triplets almost recall the Star Wars accompaniment precisely

  • @Superphilipp Yeah, but John Williams music is genius. The inspiration is better than most.

  • @5978888 I'm not denying that. :-)

  • @Superphilipp Oh cool! Sounded otherwise, but you can never be too sure of the tone of voice when reading it on paper. Sorry dude!

  • @zzzra86

Yup, I agree. All pop songs sound the same though:

    watch?v=5pidokakU4I

  • @zzzra86 *goes widen something else* GIGGITY GIGGITY GOO

  • @zzzra86 I would argue that the opening leading up to the melody is a something that sounds very similar to works done by Williams.. Also, the layout is quite similar. If you look at the star wars theme, or raiders of the lost ark, or superman, he lays it out the same: melody, then back off into a peaceful romantic melody, and then finish off with a triumphant return of the main melody. That is very Williams. Other than that, I think its a very faithful rendition of the Zelda theme song.

  • @Rocitev I see what you're saying and I agree.

  • @Rocitev but it's not williams who pioneered this. it's called "march style," or ABA structure.... many of williams's famous pieces are marches ;)

  • @zzzra86 The reason it sounds like Superman or Star Wars is because these are John Williams themes and this particular transcription was done by him.

  • @koalaswrath williams had zero involvement in this.

  • @zzzra86 I guess people say it sounds like Star Wars because John Williams did the arrangement for this, and it carries his handwriting to a certain extent, but that doesn't make it sound any more like Star Wars than like Harry Potter or memoirs of a Geisha :D

  • @zzzra86 Stick et' to em man! Seriously, when great scores like these based on classic games that will last a lifetime; people ALWAYS have to compare it to something like 'Star Wars' or 'Lord of The Rings', or something else that is widely known.. Just.. Let the music be people, listen, and enjoy; don't compare.

  • @zzzra86 it's only cause john williams arranged this particular arrangement of the song

  • @aetyate

This version was in fact not arranged and conducted by John Williams.

It was in fact arranged and conducted by Toshiko Watanabe, during the Orchestral Game Music Concerts in Japan during the 90's. Google: "Orchestral Game Music Concerts Toshiko Watanabe", and the first link will show proof, as well as a sound sample for this particular track. Also search Youtube for "Legend of Zelda Orchestral Game Concert", and the first hit should supply you with this exact arrangement.

  • @zzzra86 I feel John williams in this. I like Williams pieces, and yes that's what gives it the star wars feel around 3:09 to the end. I like Yasunori Mitsuda the most though.

  • I've heard the first won is made by John Williams. That would explain the similaritiy to Indy Jones and Superman

  • Exactly, John Williams is the maestro of this.

  • The very start sounds like Indianan Jones.

  • Yeah, with a bit of Superman thrown in just before it all kicks off for good measure

  • awsome i still play legedn of zelda thx man now my brother does to

  • Master Sword goes pew pew!

  • I forgot how incredible this theme song is. It makes me want to play Zelda again. :D

  • What has this to do with Indiana Jones? Or George Lucas?

  • Absolutly nothing, why do you ask?

  • I wish we had something like this in America.

  • Loz is badass

  • And it's not like I'm a mindless hater of George Lucas: I LOVED the new Indiana Jones movie, for instance.

  • well that's good i guess i'll accept your apoligy but let me just say i was only talking to herxpeas about not agreeing with your oppinyen on the prequels and i understand your not one of those mindless lucas haters which is good to me so dont get upset with me next time when i said i love the prequels so no hard feelings

  • Thank you very much, I understand ;)

  • dont mention it

  • When God was creating the world, I bet he was listening to this

  • PS. I'm an atheist, so that's saying something!

  • watch?v=4CLfLdGqqRI

    try this !

  • Anyway, I love this music, Zelda music is just so amazing, Koji Kondo is the name of the musician who wrote it, isn't it?

  • Yeah! that's truth. Koji Kondo's the name

  • Sweet! XD, my favorite composers are, then:

    Koji Kondo

    Yasunori Mitsuda

    Nobuo Uematsu

That one guy who did "Secret of Mana," Kairabaca something like that? O)O I forget! But I really like those guys' music...

  • @SergeOfArniVillage Hiroki Kikuta did both Secret of Mana and Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3).

Favorite VG composers 1st one being top fav, rest are equal:

Koji Kondo (Legend of Zelda Series, Mario Series)

    Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy Series)

Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Seiken Densestu 3)

Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Series, Xeno Series)

  • EPICx37845y34875034985

  • The same version they now use at the international "Video Game Live" Orchestral Game Concerts.

  • I think this might be the arrangement John Williams did though...

  • My Man Koji Kondo

  • no. they definitely shouldn't.

  • HERxPEAS: You've never read the Thrawn Trilogy, have you? ^^

  • dont listen to that idiot Herxpeas he is a prequel hater

  • heerogunkenobi: Oh lord, here we go again. The prequels are NOT all that great. Seriously, some of the worst dialog I've ever heard in a movie is in the Star Wars prequels. Not that they're awful movies: they are still entertaining to watch. But they do not enhance the Star Wars legacy, they detract from it. They're just not on the same level as the original trilogy, k? Now, anyways, about the Zelda music, which is why I came here in the first place: it's brilliant, I love it ;)

  • fuck you the prequels films dont detract

  • and for your information i was talking to HERxPEAS about ignoring you not yourself so fuck off

  • also i can love the prequels all i want you cant make me

  • and dont you dare replay to me again prequel hater

  • heerogun: Of course I'm gonna reply to this! Obviously I don't want you to hate the prequels: you are entitled to your own opinion of what movies you like and such. I respect your opinion, and you should also respect mine, because both of our OPINIONS are perfectly valid, because of the FACT that they are merely OPINIONS, k? There's no need to get worked up over it, I'm sorry I've offended you so much :(

  • And I was just kidding about the Zelda music, lol, but I really do think Star Wars needs to be redeemed from the mediocre prequels.

  • Kajii Kondo did good. There was no deed to mess it up.

  • koji kondo

  • LOL kajii sounds messed up.

  • "kaji" means fire in japanese, well more like a fire burning down houses and stuff

  • Star Wars? No, I think it sounds more like...hmmm, Legend of Zelda? LOL

  • Nintendo have myamoto and Koji Kondo. How is possible this coincidence???

  • That one really sounds Star Wars-ish xD

  • Yeah, exactly was I was thinking too.

  • thats because Koji Kondo got lots of inspiration from John Williams, who made star wars. YES< i lve them both XD

  • actually the build up sounds a lot like the superman theme

  • Comment removed

  • Uh no Kojii Kondo a video game composer that has worked for Nintendo for years wrote this. It does sound similar to John Williams work though.

  • Wow... great piece. somebody deserves a thousand dollars.

  • If anyone can tell me where to find a conductors score and parts for this, please let me know

  • this is a beautiful piece

  • Why have they never orchestrated Zelda boss music?

  • it sounds great! i think Zelda beats mario

  • completly oblitrates mario man

  • @Aardvark954 True because Zelda is more epic and has only had 3 bad games, where as mario has had about 100.But god zeldas barely trump good marios

  • 3:15 sounds like superman.

  • Beautiful piece.

  • I've always thought this version was kind of based on Williams. The intro right before the theme is pretty much Superman.

  • The thing I don't like about this version is that slow and calm part that takes up most of the song..

  • Huh!? You say that John Williams had something to do with this? I guess I can believe it.

John Williams not only pawns, but he might possibly be immortal!

  • This is awesome. I love this version of the theme.

  • Woah, I got chills.

  • The Main Theme of Zelda is easily one of the top 3 most recognizable video game songs of all time. I think by recognition, The Main Theme of Zelda is only beaten by the Super Mario Bros main theme song.

This a brilliant orchestration of one of the most iconic pieces of video game music ever made.

  • Just...awesome...sweetness.

  • All i have to say is 2 words sick and awsome also sweet

  • when overworld started i had a mini siezure

  • lol @ 0.19 - 0.26.

    sounds a bit like superman

Great version of a classic theme though

  • Thats because John Williams had quite a bit to do with this version of LoZ's Theme

  • Awesome version of this song, love it! Ive noticed there are quite a few people who cant find this song, if you would like an mp3 of it, pm me. I'd be more than happy to send it to ya

  • coool....

  • Shivers down my spine.

  • i got goose bumps

  • Anyone got an idea how to get this file on PC? Would like to have it included in my MP3 player.

  • sometimes its hard to believe link used to look like that(exept if your an adult)

great music, i love overworld theme

  • I'll have you know that some of us "adults" prefer this look!

  • I guess... its what you've gotten used to, but I like TP Link better, oh well

  • cough*gaywheeze* hack .....

    ehem... sorry

  • nonono! this comment was aimed at that guy that said we like this version of link better! the song was awesome!

  • Anyone got a tissue?

  • I know!

  • its ok...no it's AMAZING!

  • nice
