Yeah, Toby's kinda hot. Nonetheless, I was just intrigued enough by the premise of the story by the time Part 3 came around to want to read this Bronte tale. The protagonist obviously came from a very ugly environment judging by flashbacks and her precipitous flight at the beginning of the movie. Women in those days DID NOT leave, by and large: they stayed, were abused, had their children abused, and suffered. Women have difficulty getting out of bad situations now, it was much worse then.
