What majority? I think the mainstream listeners are the minority, while the majority music listeners are metal and punk. The mainstream core market changes all the time which means theres more metal listeners than mainstream listeners. YAY US!!!

Mainstream just means the most money making group. If you look at it those stupid parents that pay for a $1000 ticket for Miley Cyrus, then the record companies already made them selves another billion dollars. Mainstream doesn't have to mean that the majority of the people in the world listen to the same music. It just means if theres as group thats going to make record companies billions of dollars, than thats mainstream.
