Fable III is an OK game, the kind you play if you get it for free from a friend or download from a Torrent. I give it 5.5 out of 10.
Most of my problems with the game from the lack of depth and complexity. It almost feels like an Action-Adventure-RPG game that was custom tailored for broader girl appeal. It's also not very challenging.
I personally think Fable I was the best, it had a better gameplay, there were way more spells for will, and Fable I actually had real proper armour rating, like plate, chainmail etc. Fable II had cloth and stuff. I dunno prob others might think otherwise, Fable III was just bad, im sorry, but it was different for sure

i guess he left out the brightwall tower quests....(book collecting, helping out in the dungeon area, etc.) those r pretty difficult to accomplish and require u to explore the world i've had a hell of a time collecting them on different saves bc they're always in a different area sometimes. overall tho i give it a 8.5 out of 10 it's a good game and all and spell weaving is pretty neat (who doesn't dream of casting lightening swords lol) but as said the game lags sometimes but the shadows part

Idk why everyone hates this game so much. I played the original fable, loved it, haven't played fable 2 yet though. But I found fable 3 really enjoyable. The combat was streamlined and very fun, the decisions you made actually had a lasting impact on the world around you, and the twist two thirds of the way through the game was really unexpected and awesome. I want to mention a fault on the review.. If you want a good completion you do need to purchase every house and business in the kingdom, you need it like hell!

I 'm not a gamer, but my parents bought me an Xbox for Christmas, and Fable III came with it. So I didn't know how to critique this game, since it's my first experience with an RPG, I have nothing to compare it to. But even I could tell off the bat that I was bored. It didn't get interesting until I actually got to get involved in combat. And since money is easy to find like you said, I haven't even bothered exploring owning properties. Maybe I'll stop playing this and play Fable II first.

I quite actually enjoyed Fable 3! It makes it easy to pick up on the game if you are now new to the whole Fable trilogy. I am a person who likes to wonder through the game and finish all of the quest before finishing the whole story line. Either way I had fun and dont mind that they made it so easy!

The humor was great and I did get attached toe characters. I also had issues with the trail though and the graphics were not their best. It could have been done better, but I still liked it all. My main complaint is that it went to fast.
Fable III was designed for the wrong age group they have sex in it, but they put 6 year old graphics and story depth as compared to fable II which had a less cartoon look. Fable II was a letdown in my opinion.

Personaly,I enjoyed Fable 3.Nowhere near as much as I LOVED Fable 2 but still,it was fun to play and the responsibilities I was suddenly forced to take were amazingly emphasizing the meaning of the world Fable."You can make promises but that doesn't mean you can fullfill them.".As for the gameplay,it was buggy and straightforward for most parts and the customization,if this even counts as customization,was not as good as I expected.I prefered augments to the shitty mini-quests of the weapons.

The only thing I like about Fable 3 was spell weaving and the changing weapons. Everything else was crap compared to the second one. Fable 2: Hammers, cutlasses, longswords, axes, cleavers, katanas, maces, 3 types of rifles and pistols, and 4 types of crossbows, with an amazing targeting system. Fable 3: Hammers, swords, rifles, pistols. What the fuck? How does taking away weapons in a sequel make sense? Also, I hated how short Fable 3 was, with little to do after the game ended.
Fable 3 was shit, I was shocked I only got knocked out once. And you don't even die. Its like playing Sonic, you just lose some coins and go play to gameplay.

I don't know if I misunderstood something, but I clearly recall you being asked to raise money to be able to take the "good" route in this game (which is stupid to begin with), but then after I was almost there, having rented out and sold buildings, worked my ass off on the lute, the game ended happily anyway and it was all for nothing.. Also, the moral dilemmas was moronic, like "do you want to kill everyone, yes or no? Want to starve all the kids, pollute the river, yes or no? Uhhh.. No?

Fable 3 did disappoint me, however I'm not going to say it sucks. I've found out over the years that each fable game has had its own unique traits. Fable 3 was actually really fun to me, but the only downside is that it felt like I was playing more of a linear action game then an RPG game.

Inaccurate. It's NOT that easy to make money fast unless you're playing evil. Playing evil in this game hands everything to you. It's practically cheating. Try playing a good character THEN review it. It requires so much money (millions) yet you can't own money from properties while not playing anymore meaning you'd have to invest HOURS of doing random crap just to get through the end-game! They did a few things right and everything else wrong. Fable 3 was such a let down.
I have to admit, I haven't gotten very far, but so far I like it. I picked the princess character and am going the good route, but my concern is about the storyline. I enjoyed Fable 2 a lot more than Fable 1, but sometimes I got so sidetracked with sidequests that I'd forget the main story and when I did the main story it seemed painfully short. I'm more hoping Fable 3 doesn't do that.
One of My favorite aspects was the industrialization of Albion. I definitely agree that the dumbing down on many things, such as weapons and leveling, was a bad move. However I still enjoyed this game, almost as much as Fable 2.

@VansLegacy i know what you mean, Fable 1 back then was an incredible RPG, besides the fact that it was easy to 'cheat'. The STORY and basic leveling system and characters is what made it great. The landscape was definitely a wonder as well. Fable 2 was okay, the story was lackluster, but other than that... Fable 3, on the other hand, has no immersion imo. I dont feel like my character is a hero, but just a citizen out to do random quests, there's also a linear leveling system now, sigh

Hey, it was the evil option but I don't give much a sh-- when the rest of the other npcs is all cardboard.
But already my issue is on how short this game is.. D:
Bioware's Dragon Age 2 was also rushed yet I got 60 hours of gameplay out of it... and then some with different endings and playing mage!

The only thing I like about Fable 3 was spell weaving and the changing weapons. Everything else was crap compared to the second one. Fable 2: Hammers, cutlasses, longswords, axes, cleavers, katanas, maces, 3 types of rifles and pistols, and 4 types of crossbows, with an amazing targeting system. Fable 3: Hammers, swords, rifles, pistols. What the fuck? How does taking away weapons in a sequel make sense? Also, I hated how short Fable 3 was, with little to do after the game ended.

I wish Fable was good, someone needs to hand the games off to someone else and they need to take all three of them (Fable: The Lost Chapters, Fable II and Fable III) and make them into one massive game the way it was suppose to be. God, they add some awesome new features to fix what was bad in the last but take what was good in the last and break it.

For me Fable 3 is an even greater dissapointment then Fable 2 and thats a damn accomplishment. At least it had a slightly less crappy main vilain than F2 but Jack is still king. So much potential wasted. Can't wait for Fable: Journey being ever worse ^_^

i hate that there are very few weapon types, there is no expression wheel, and its impossible to just be a cold-blooded killer. why would you want to kill a bunch of villagers when you are their leader? thats stupid, in fable 2 you had no responsibility for them, it was fun to be evil

I wish Lionhead Studios would watch this review and take everything said 100% into consideration before making Fable 4. I kept wondering if they'd been bought by Disney, it was so straight forward, easy and innocent. Follow the glowing trail for a couple of hours and you're there!

I don't know if I misunderstood something, but I clearly recall you being asked to raise money to be able to take the "good" route in this game (which is stupid to begin with), but then after I was almost there, having rented out and sold buildings, worked my ass off on the lute, the game ended happily anyway and it was all for nothing.. Also, the moral dilemmas was moronic, like "do you want to kill everyone, yes or no? Want to starve all the kids, pollute the river, yes or no? Uhhh.. No?

Fable 3 did disappoint me, however I'm not going to say it sucks. I've found out over the years that each fable game has had its own unique traits. Fable 3 was actually really fun to me, but the only downside is that it felt like I was playing more of a linear action game then an RPG game.

Inaccurate. It's NOT that easy to make money fast unless you're playing evil. Playing evil in this game hands everything to you. It's practically cheating. Try playing a good character THEN review it. It requires so much money (millions) yet you can't own money from properties while not playing anymore meaning you'd have to invest HOURS of doing random crap just to get through the end-game! They did a few things right and everything else wrong. Fable 3 was such a let down.

I have to admit, I haven't gotten very far, but so far I like it. I picked the princess character and am going the good route, but my concern is about the storyline. I enjoyed Fable 2 a lot more than Fable 1, but sometimes I got so sidetracked with sidequests that I'd forget the main story and when I did the main story it seemed painfully short. I'm more hoping Fable 3 doesn't do that.

One of My favorite aspects was the industrialization of Albion. I definitely agree that the dumbing down on many things, such as weapons and leveling, was a bad move. However I still enjoyed this game, almost as much as Fable 2.

@VansLegacy i know what you mean, Fable 1 back then was an incredible RPG, besides the fact that it was easy to 'cheat'. The STORY and basic leveling system and characters is what made it great. The landscape was definitely a wonder as well. Fable 2 was okay, the story was lackluster, but other than that... Fable 3, on the other hand, has no immersion imo. I dont feel like my character is a hero, but just a citizen out to do random quests, there's also a linear leveling system now, sigh

story line, decision making, cool killing moves, characters scripts/voices and i didn't mind the mythical path and menu
i disliked
the shit maps, repeatedly pressing one button to kill, how the fights weren't challenging, how money was pointless till the end where you have to build a business empire which takes ages and is tedious, the dog that can't find anything (unless nothing is there!) and i also didn't see the point in making a family.

I totally agree. Fable 2 was entirley better as far as quests, weapons, customization, gameplay and story. This was too short, rushed, and pretty straight forward. It felt completly irrelevent to the first 2 fables.
