  • Tate and Violet <3

  • *69 o:

  • The song is based off a story that Meg and Dia wrote. It's about a man named Henry who was abused and locked up at home. He never knew love, and had no way to show it to others, so when he asked the girl he liked if she knew an address, and she ignored him, he raped her. Then he went home and burned himself in the bathtub. Such a sad story.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior I want to read that book.... East Of Eden is the name?

  • @ShadowTheEevee123 I don't know. I found out about this story on a blog that Dia wrote.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior

is it like, out? if so, can u tell me the name of it?

  • @darknessinsunnyville Um....I don't know. I just searched google for 'Monster meg and dia lyrics meaning' and stumbled across the blog.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior can any one recommend some good songs like this

  • @Xx1loveanimesxX Specifically about these topics, or with the same type of beat? Anything Meg and Dia's good. Along the same topics as this song (sort of) is Sick Puppies' Howard's Tale.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior so then whats with the "Hannah's regrets" and the bathtubs full of glow flies

  • @BlessTheFallenOnes Hanna's regrets are because his parents beat him and locked him in his room as a small child. "He battered his tiny fist, wondered what it's like to touch and feel something." Bathtubs full of Glowflies means the bathtub he lit himself on fire in. The 'Glowflies' are either sparks from the kerosene, or shards of glass from the lamps he broke in the tub to get the kerosene. :)

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior so is hannah like the mom who locked the boy up?

  • @BlessTheFallenOnes Yes. Hannah is his mother, and she locked him in his room, so this story goes.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior and "I'm a glass child" is about...what? that he's transparent and an object to his parents?

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior abused by his mom

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior

Uhmm, They didn't write it. It's a EXTREAMLY old story called, "East Of Eden"....

    Look it up.

  • @divnaHOPE Yeah, I realized this. One of the sites I was looking at for meaning was incorrect. :)

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior where can i read it? :0

  • @MelodyVocaloidChii Um, check your local library, or online for free downloads. ;)

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior ok but whats the title of the book? is it monster?

  • @MelodyVocaloidChii The book is East of Eden.

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior thanx :)

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior Meant read. They didn't write it. The book is called East of Eden. ;)

  • @ShadowfootTheWarrior they didn't write it, they based it off a character from the book "East of Eden"

  • fuck u man!!!akakakkak

  • @DarkRose108 if you can't read in cursive than you're going to be helpless :3

  • Can someone explain this song to me please?

  • It's about this man named Henry who was locked in a room as a child and beaten never knowing what love really was. It doesn't say in the story about it if his mom was raped, but I think she was: Hannas regret. Eventually when he was in college he asked a girl for directions. When she didn't answer him, he showed love the only way he knew how through violence. He proceeded to rape and when he realized it hurt her he filled his bathtub tub with kerosine and set himself ablaze- bathe in kerosine.

  • @MyRainbowSh1t I believe its' about - A person who wants to be loved and always wonders what it's like to be held but can't because their monsters everywhere. & I believe the monsters represent his abuse that he's been going through, and how he can't escape his monsters :)

  • wow this song is great!

  • cant we just not see the point of the song and ENJOY THAT FUCKING MUSIC

  • Those are some serious lyrics... (O_O)'

  • i dont get it whats the rl story?

  • Like this if GETTOxFABxFOREVER brought you here:)

  • This is a beautiful and sad song. The begging part (not the part with the raping) feels like me.. I sometimes feel like an outcast and a "Monster"..

  • A boy never knew the meaning of love, he cut himself to feel something but he was numb, it he didn't feel anything

so then one day he kidnapped a girl and abused her, and "stole" her virginity, he thought it was what love was to simply sleep with somebody, but he realized he was hurting her so ran, leaving her pregnate.

Hannah, then had a child who years later heard people talking about him as Hannahs regret so then he went into a bathtub full of keroseen and lit a match, ending her "regret"

  • @Coleboy44TheThird Wrong. so wrong..

  • I'm going to cry a little bit, this song reveals my feelings..

  • wow....this made me so sad, like i had heard the song and knew it was about rape but i didn't know the whole truth....but reading the top comments....wow T,T it just tears at me

  • @xXxBrokenStringsxXx reflecting on there personality breakable, fragile ect.

  • ive had this on repeat all morning<3

  • its alot slower than the remix

  • my real name is hannah, ronni is my stage name

  • I THINK that glow flies is the fire, because it says 'their words are tottoed in his veins, yeah.' or something..... It's something I think, not that it really is like that....

  • @MissEssiemee1 no, glow flies are the fireflies, the story is on google

  • what is kerosene is that like gasolin or sumething did he cmmit suacide at the end? un

  • @EmoShadowDragon14 Kerosene is the stuff that you light camping and tiki torches with

  • @tourniquite321 ohh wow thank i did not know that but did he cummit suiside??? wanna be my friend :) <3

  • After learning the true meaning of this song, it scares me.

  • In a way, we are all monsters. So how should we feel? </3

  • @101Supertwilight No, the people that created twilight are the mosters. Lol, jk jk.

  • this songs meaning isnt nice but the song is so haunting, i love it!

  • It's based off a book, he was abused and whatnot, tried to love this girl and raped her because love was what he wanted. (Then he stole her) taking her virginity, got her pregnant. He realized they were afraid of him, and it wasn't love (Then he realized their nightmares were his dreams) Then he did the whole Kerosene in the bathtub deal.

  • @blackm00n5Its not a book. he was abused when Hannah, His mother, died and his father, he called him Sir never dad, His father called him monster and torchering him in a black room, and everynight he saw a white glowing girl, He knew what he did to the girl with a red sleeved jacket, puled her in close and kissing her while she resister then he left crying, Later when he went home he let fireflies come in and did suicide in his bathroom using Kerosene, and he drank denaturant for my alcohol.

  • this song blew up my earphones.

  • oh god i lobe this song

  • @DumbTard121 lobe?

  • how is this about east of eden? i dont really see a connection... :O

  • Thumbs up if this song was stuck in your head. <3 ^.^

  • @yeseniagreatsinger IT'S SOOOO CATCHY!

  • @yeseniagreatsinger LMFAO. This is one of the things that bother me about this song..It's so amazing, that its always stuck in my head. >_<!

  • A hundred percent better then the remix..

  • Love this song. good job :)

  • I love this song so dearly! Everytime I listen to it I cry <3

  • i like the remix better

  • i felt like crying

  • Who ever says "It is funny because this song is about rape" You are a jack ass. Mkay. LIsten, it's about a boy who was neglected by both his parents and got no hugs, kisses, or anything, POOR HANNAH! Dead because she was trying to make a friend, Go F*** yourself. -nods head- Who else agrees?

  • @Unic0rnTV And guess what, jackass? This song is also about rape.

But seriously, if you wanna have an argument about the true meaning of the song aren't there forums for that type of thing or something? Just enjoy the freaking song and respect the person that spent time and effort on making a good quality video for our entertain. Still think THEY'RE the jackass? -_-'

  • @Unic0rnTV Hannah is actually is mother. The girl he raped didn't try to make friends with him. He asked her for directions and when she didn't answer him, he raped her. He didn't kill her though. Then he went to his apartment, poured kerosene into his bath tub and set himself aflame. The original story is somewhere on Google.

What the user meant by "funny" is "ironic" because it's a response to the top comment (I'm raping the replay button). In any case rape is seriously bad business.

  • @kuroneko3713 that depends entirely on your perspective.

  • @kuroneko3713 whats the name of the original story?

  • @iDogsLove Dia made a background story, how to find, Go on Myspace then /megdia/blog/122397730?page=1

  • @kuroneko3713 wat do you look up to find the original story

  • @LuckySugarPie I looked up 'Monster meg and dia lyrics meaning' and found a website. I can't remember the name, but the story was on there, as well as the background behind it.

  • i think cascadas is better

  • That was just simply beautiful

  • LETS ALL GET THIS STRAIGHT. This is about a boy who was abused when he was a child. He didn't know what love was, but he knew it existed. He wanted to love somebody but didn't know how. One day he met a girl walking down the sidewalk and raped her. He didn't regret it, but knew it was wrong. So he poured kerosene into his bathtub and lit it on fire. The "glow flies" are fireflies. He likes them because he is afraid of the dark (his parents kept him in a dark room as a child) THE TRUTH. 100%

  • @TpendragonT what book is that? i want to know please. so i can read it and understand this song more.

please reply with the name of theis book.. some1 seaid East of Eden but i looked tht up and it was wrong so please!!

  • @jukugyal1 it's not a book. it's a short story they wrote based off a book. I think it was east of eden

  • @TpendragonT No. 99% true. Glowflies means fire. He's bathing in gas.

  • @LPSPokemonLover No.. "glow flies" are fireflies. A simple google search will confirm this.

  • @TpendragonT Glow flies could mean either, Fire flies, or sparks from a fire. Sparks would make more sence. No matter what Google says. People have their own appinions of what something means.

  • @Ieattoxicglitter There is no opinion. The people who made this song know exactly what it means, dumbass.

  • @TpendragonT No need to call me a dumbass. You are so stupid, as to not even realise i meant that he/she could have taken it as something eles.

  • @Ieattoxicglitter My god you're still not seeing the reality of it. THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS STORY HAS OFFICIALLY STATED THAT "GLOW FLIES" MEANS FIREFLIES. HOW ARE YOU NOT UNDERSTANDING THIS?

  • @TpendragonT I know that you fucking idiot. I am saying that some one eles could have not know that.

  • @Ieattoxicglitter No, you were saying I was wrong and it could have meant something else. As far as someone not knowing; How could they not know? I fucking said it in the comment they replied to.

  • @Ieattoxicglitter in the book glowflies are fireflies

  • @TpendragonT And does it have to do with East of Eden? Ive heard a few times that it did. Just wondering.

  • @twilightluv11 Its based off that book

  • Omg... I need to learn how to play guitar so I can finally go around on halloween and be just like Meg and Dia with my bestie.

  • 0.0 *dies from amzement* i think i was loved by the "monster"

  • Amo essa musica, mas da versão original!

  • what'd the replay button ever do 2 u? ;*(

  • I hate how you can hardly hear her voice over hear sisters guitar (sorry meg)

  • You cant rape the replay button ok because to be rape the replay button must be un-willing and my replay button is very VERY willing mwahahahaha

  • @cutxXxslashxXxdie i agree xD

  • @Pulitzerpro Poison.

  • @RainbowCandiez No its pretty much jet fuel(A-1, A, B)(or rocket fuel RP-1), its what they use in the jet dragsters, And the fireflies mean he lit the kerosene on fire and killed himself.

  • @DJAppler

    Glowflies

  • @Pulitzerpro It's a highly flammable liquid that's usually used for lighting, such as lanterns and old fashioned lamps.

  • what is kerosne

  • i love this song.. wanna get the book

  • this song makes me so wanna read the book :)

  • This song isn't about Rape, I don't understand why everyone thinks that. That shows that pretty much everyone has a sick and disgusting mind.. Someone even said the correct description of this song below. Think about what this song really means inseatd of just thinking it's about Rape. That's disgusting..

  • i love that thiis song iish bout rape <3 :(iits sad but iits means somthiing.

  • I am so used to the remix its way faster then this

  • Dowwnload the audio from this vid at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • thumbs up if you heard this on hatena

  • The song directly. Is about an illegitimate boy abused from when he was baby. His mother Hannah didn't teach him how to love properly. So of course he falls in love with a girl and is afraid she will leave him. So he cages her, literally... and steals her virginity. I believe he slits her wrists and ankles and murders her as well. It goes on to say he is a fragile child, and Hannah's mistake. Obviously he can't sleep due to guilt. He uses a bathtub of karosene and goes up in flames... yeah..O_O

  • I think we should all realize, some music isn't good for listening. I like this song, but I do not agree with their message. Their argument for writing this was very weak. They used the idea, as I stated earlier. That illegitimate children don't receive enough love as well. They state some very childish and offensive things. Anyways, these girls seem to have some issues... I DON'T recommend checking out the book that inspired such bad philosophies. We need more love, not hate.

  • @mariegoslar What are you? 8? Want songs about love and parties only? Get back to reality. These kind of things exist and they are a very powerful source of inspiration. What you call bad philosophies is an obscure precious form of art. The song's not spreading hate or anything. Don't be a fucking child and never, never say one's argument for writing is weak. If one feels like writing about something, that is already a strong argument. Sorry if I was rude, but naive people like you makes me mad

  • This is a very disturbing song. The book " East of Eden" inspired it, but it isn't based off of any book characters. It's about rape and how so called illegitimate children all become Monsters. Direct quote from Meg and Dia.I know that logic is fucked... but It's their opinion. My sister has a son who is illegitimate and I love him. He is no Monster. I am illegitimate myself. I am no Monster. Hannah is supposed to be a friend of theirs who had an illegitimate child BTW. Not a character.

  • whoa.. my name is Hannah, LOL!

  • my friend told me to listen to this song and im glad a did

    its a great song

thumbs up if you think so too!!!! BS

  • What is a "glass child". I really wan't to understand.

  • @Yasextreme me to

  • @Yasextreme He's comparing "Glass" with his personality... Breakable, fragile, etc..

  • who's hannah:/

  • @MusicLover12451 hannah, so ive heard is the "moster" who really is an unloved kid, hannah is his unloving mother who had him by accedent... BD

  • @Spinnyhorse Hannah is the child of the woman of the rape. Its her daughter. The monster is the unloved boy who raped her, not knowing he did so, so he set himself on fire in a bathtub full of kerosene.
