because rock band and guitar hero's singing part is pretty simple compared to this game. and games like singstar. to put it really on the edge would be to say that why use a karaoke machine when you got guitar hero? the game has a bit more advanced singing mechanism that makes it more accurate and fun if you just wanna sing :)

I'm the same age, and like popular music if it's got some originality and you can tell the band has talent. I can enjoy a lot of overplayed music and music with simple lyrics because I rarely listen to the radio or watch TV anymore and if the lyrics aren't great I can still enjoy the rest of the song. What bugs me is when songs use autotune to hide bad singing, or a sample that everyone calls "original" and "the best part of the song". So it's not a BADtracklistIMO...butalittle*t­oo*recognizable.
