As for the Kosovo - well it was well-serbian in 1300s, not anymore in 20th century. Actually I am as "independent" observer do not see any problem, that kosovo declared independence...of course they should have treated serbs accordingly.BTW, in vid it is stated, that all 700k albanians returned to their land, not entirely true - many are in CH...making troubles :)

I mean, it is very likely that the serbs were the dominant ethnic group there at that time. But it cannot be denied that, during the Ottoman occupation of the land, very often there were joint incursions against the common enemy, that is albanian and serb villages joining together to fight off the turks. It wasn't much change from the time of the kingdom to the time of the republic, until Tito intervened and granted Kosovo and Vojvodina autonomous status. Before 1974, Albanians weren't allowed in the streets after 6 pm or they'd be shot in the spot. This was Rankovic's èra. A very interesting documentary. I was shocked to learn about the Croat genocide of (mostly) the Serbs. The Jasenovac horror is probably even worse then Auschwitz. Thoughts of what went on in this extermination and torture camp is beyond any sane thought. Probably in between 300.000 and 500.000 people where slaughterd like catle. The 1941-1945 periode must be one of the most horendous periods in Serb history.

I mean, it is very likely that the serbs were the dominant ethnic group there at that time. But it cannot be denied that, during the Ottoman occupation of the land, very often there were joint incursions against the common enemy, that is albanian and serb villages joining together to fight off the turks. But it is true though. On many cases there were albanian brides beign married away to serb families and vica versa. This hate that we're seing today has it's origins on the time during and after the Balkan Rebellions (1890-?)

It wasn't much change from the time of the kingdom to the time of the republic, until Tito intervened and granted Kosovo and Vojvodina autonomous status. Before 1974, Albanians weren't allowed in the streets after 6 pm or they'd be shot in the spot. This was Rankovic's èra. Please do your research based on documents from the time rather than from some speudo-fascist "history book"

It might and it might not be so that the population in Kosovo was predominantly serb prior to Ottoman Expantion, but what about the time prior to Serb expantion into the Area? I mean even you admit, one of the first state entities of the Serbs was Raska, Raska lies north of Kosovo, not IN Kosovo, so the idea of Kosovo being the "cradle of the Serbian nation" doesn't hold water.

@myowngenesis - Yes I agree with this. Raska (predominantly modern Montenegro) can be seen as the "cradle of the Serbian nation" moreso then Kosovo as far as I'm concerned. As for the population of Kosovo prior to Ottoman expansion, well the Decani Charter is the piece of evidence which shows it as having an overwhelming Serbian or slavic populace. And of course it had a zero Muslim populace prior to Ottoman expansion.

As for alboz genocide on Kosovo?? OEBS stated 1600 albanians missing and dead nearly half killed by UCK for treason(not wanting to fight). As for losses during the war itself Pristina Korpus lost 3 percent of total menpower(3,147) and UCk and Nato cassulaties were 9,700 in total.

They say, when Turks left, arnauti(albanians) surrendered, they raised their white flags as a sign of surrender, and when Serbian officers got out of tranches arnauti started shooting. This is just an overview. In Albanian Serbian relations I missed out much of the earlier sufferring of the Serbian people as well. Remember Albanians were a tiny minority in Kosovo before the Turks came along. That is a fact. And how do you think you went from being about 5% of teh population to over 90%? odgledao sam oba dela, i video mi se bas svideo. deluje prilicno realno, bez preterivanja, iako si nas "ostetio" kada je rec o zrtvama pogotovo kada je 20. vek u pitanju. prvo, u 2. sv. ratu je poginulo 1,7 miliona jugoslovena, ne znam koliko je procentat srba, ali je veci od 70%.drugo, jasenovac je imao 700.000 zrtava. trece, u srebrenici jeste pocinjen zlocin, ali ti tvrdis 8000 zrtava, a cak i muslimani kazu 7000, iako je pronadjeno 2000 ili 3000 tela ... eto, moj utisak. sve ostalo je kul.

bate dobar ti ovaj film,samo sto mi se ne svidja pocetak,tj. da su srbi dosli od nekuda,pogresno su te ucili,morat ces da modifikujes ovaj film. Mi smo staro sjedioci a ne neki ''dosljaci''.

mate there isn't a macedonian nation, so for the sake of serbia (for us the greeks skopje is a zone of serbians, bulgarians, albanians and a greek minority) call it FYROM, for macedonia is a "territory" not a "national entity"

Appart from being far from complete, this history of the Serbs ss not entirely objective, and there are some historical as well as logical errors, but it's more open minded than most such videos on youtube, and a good step in the right direction

A very interesting documentary. I was shocked to learn about the Croat genocide of (mostly) the Serbs. The Jasenovac horror is probably even worse then Auschwitz. Thoughts of what went on in this extermination and torture camp is beyond any sane thought. Probably in between 300.000 and 500.000 people where slaughterd like catle. The 1941-1945 periode must be one of the most horendous periods in Serb history.
