  • Windows has more programs for it plus the Apple hardware is more stable than PC hardware. There are a whole lot of people have switched to iMac's or Macbooks and have installed Windows on it using Parallels or Boot Camp. A lot of those people are using theirs as both Mac and PC. There are some that don't like Mac operating system so they use Windows instead.

  • screw mac. i hate it.

  • @cokacutter who cares.

  • um why do people have there little wars over mac and pc there both equally the same in there own way. There is not perfect os nothing is perfect.

  • mac is really cool i love my macbook pro :) mac ftw

  • thats tiger and not leopard running on ur mac right? significant changes between the two, macs are AMAZING

  • OMG same thing for 2 finger scrolling !!! whenever i use somonelses computer (pc) i get frustrated

  • I use tap a ton, even though I dont think I do (tap click) and when Im on a PC, Im like.. fuçk this! xD

  • yep. i tried it out at the store. its pretty cool. but i know it might be very different if i'm using it at home. i would need to use it over a period of time to find out if its stable or virus prone etc etc.. so i probably wouldn't know until i buy it. thanks for the advice.

  • Shut the fuck up Macfag. God Damn, you fucking morons are like cult members when it comes to your computer. Idiots.

  • What's your point???? Have you ever worked with a MAC??? I worked with pc before I tried a MAC. It made me crazy. Mac cost more but last longer. When they crass it's not so hard to get them back up. (but they don't crass to often) Just try one... your like it. Go ahead, do something different, you may want a MAC after that, don't follow the crowd. I think its pc that's like a cult.

  • 7:26 !!! Detroit Tigers Logo in the picture frame! Is Chris from Michigan???? :D :D

  • I think macs are easy, but the biggest learning curve is quitting programs instead of just hitting the "X" button.

  • Macs are very easy to use. They are made for idiots.

  • they are made with idiots in mind :)

    good programming skills, that is

  • Agreed, but they are not exclusive to idiots alone either.

  • if you are able to make an idiot proof os it means you are a good programer

  • i have always had a pc.. .wait... very small learning curve and you can get all the software you need for free online... what changed me is this... no viruses... and i do run a virus program just for peace of mind.. virus barrier .. i will never go back to a pc.. never... once you use a mac for a week... you would agree.. my mac is a year old and its just as fast as when i bought. . mac user for life. No virus.. no spyware.. wow.. what a deal!

  • hmmm... i feel like trying a mac. maybe i'll love it too

  • It's pretty sad that some losers hide behind the keyboard, thinking that they are taunting you, and getting to you, just because you humor them and play along.

This medium is just to set your opinion, and it's pointless to instigate a fight with someone you will never meet.

I'll respond with the truth. Because if you are getting off on pointless behavior, you should reflect: get a life.

Dedicated to Gianvil07 and losers like him.

    My condolences.

  • He's a complete twat.

  • Gianvil07 is a Loser, even at his own game.

  • GianvilO7 is a Loser that needs to get a life.

  • dcabral00 you are a joke. Just because you are wrong you can't take it. Fuckbrain.

  • Get a life. Loser.

  • Cock

  • You're an absolute dickhead

  • yes you sure are

  • Mac for professional film and music making- PC for games and fun.

  • Oh wait, what I meant to say is LOSER!!

  • Get a life.

  • Get a life? Amazing.

  • You should just learn to shut the fuck up.

  • Get. A. Life. . .Loser!

  • GET. .

    A. .

    LIFE. .

    Loser.

  • Cock

  • You're the cock Gianvil07.

  • Absolutely right!!

  • Get a Life. LOSER

  • Cock

  • Blah Blah ... meet me face to face etc etc.. Tried it twice with a couple of bum fucks that were all talk, they never turned up. I'll let you be the internet tough guy if you want.

I dont want to meet you face to face. I'm too scared.

  • Seriously, GET. . . A. . . LIFE!!

  • First of All. . . DO NOT tell me what, OR what NOT to say. Free Country you know.

  • Loooser!!

  • "Blah Blah ... meet me face to face etc etc.. Tried it twice with a couple of bum fucks that were all talk, they never turned up."

Give me a break. Everyone. . . Meet the tough LOSER over here.

  • Well, I figure the Loser gave up. He is a Loser even on his own standards. He figures that by having the last word, he wins. So I guess, we "won."

    LOL

  • Yeah he is an absolute loser.

  • LOL!!

First of All. . . DO NOT tell me what, OR what NOT to say. Free Country you know.

The best Operating system for ME, is the one I prefer to work with. I provided only one reason for my preference because there is not enough time or resources to NAME THEM ALL!!

After four Frustrating years, practically compromising with XP, I should kick myself in the head for not getting a MAC from the beginning.

Besides, you're contradicting yourself at the end; attacking me, and then Unix=Best!!????

  • Shut up

  • Get a life

  • Another instigating cyberspace-cowboy tough guy. . .

You're original. I will not curse you out, because there is no point. Meet me face to face, and maybe what you say can be taken to consideration. Otherwise, get a life, loser!!

  • Ha Ha. "loser". Ha Ha .

  • "Ha Ha. "loser". Ha Ha . "

Ha Ha. Knowing laugh of "Realization" Ha Ha.

  • Yawn

  • "Yawn"

How stupid is to pretend yawing and actually typing it up.

Not the best instigator in the world. Get a life. Loser.

  • OS X is the best Operating system there is. Apple provides the best Hardware that is provided to consumers. Quite simply, you just get what you pay for. Hands down.

If there is a need for anything you need to do. . . There is an application, simple or complicated out here in the for the Mac.

Example: As a prof. photographer, I shoot RAW. Apple OS is able to provide thumbnail views of such files specific to my cameras just as implementations of updates. Other OSes do not do that!!

  • DO NOT say things you do now know about. Just because of a reason like that, you cannot judge OSs as best or worst. First off, a tweak/addon to XP can do the trick, and second of all, Unix is the best OS. Period.

  • "DO NOT say things you do now know about."

    Wait a second . . . WHAT!!

  • Lol yeah, that was a pretty strange typo xD

  • Nah. It's alright, I know what you meant.

We may have difference of opinion, but at least you are not a Loser instigator, like GianvilO7.

This Loser hasn't respond for a while. I hope he actually got busy getting a life.

  • Why dont you shut the fuck up. Idiot.

  • DO NOT say things you do not know about! Why don't you take thepcdudes advice?

  • just bought my first mac mini a while ago and loving it!

  • I never used a Mac before until I went to college. We have a lab full of PCs but have a corner of about 5 Mac Pros. So I began to sit down and see what everyone was talking about.

Let me just say that I was BLOWN away at how easy everything was. Within my hour of free time between classes, I already knew how to use many of the functions that it took me nearly a day or two to use on a PC. As I'm typing this I am saving up for a Macbook Pro. Overall, the learning curve isn't too high.

  • good video, i want a mac but i just need the funds

  • Same. I used iMacs for a few Apple CS3 courses and so want one, they are great (not perfect).

  • i just got my first mac last week, and i completely agree with you, i'm running XP professional with vm fusion and it works beautifully. and hes right, you have to get past the "boo its different, its a stupid mac".....i'm very happy with it.

  • i just got my first mac ,.. i would say there is a learning curve ,.. mostly in features widows doesnt do ,. stacks ,.. ect.

as well there is a list of small things that a pain the arse to figure out. but all in all i think i will like the ac after i figure it out

  • this was interesting and reassuring! I've got an exam on computer skills and thisyr they've suddenly dcided to throw in the macs... but they just toldus ad i've never so much as turned one on! so... I hope he's right!

  • I'm really considering wasting all my money (since im a kid im like poor) on a mac mini. I mostly want it for the iLife and iMovie software. As well as the more secure environment.

  • oh mah gawd i knowz uz

  • I love this man.

  • There is no learning curve. I walked into an Apple Store and knew how to use it perfectly.

  • death to But

  • The Mac is greatness. Years ahead of anything in Windows. Not perfect, by any means, but the closest you can get.

  • Perfect for some. I personally would love a Mac but not to solo with. I could never leave windows for my gaming.

  • yeah but you can run windows in a Mac with dual boot or whatever the hell it's called :)

  • Yeah I know. But a perfect example would be "Crysis". Its a highly graphical game. Say I needed to update hardware in my computer. I could shop around for the best price and item available. With a Mac I have to order the hardware from Apple and their own hardware is more expensive than most items in the PC market.

  • the mac uses standard PC hardware, so graphics cards, hard drives and memory can be bought from anyone as long as it is mac compatible :)

I plugged a maxtor HD from my old PC into my mac and it works fine, also mac can read windows file systems so all my files were retrievable.

  • I know Mac can run windows, but lets take a look at what you said. "the mac uses standard PC hardware, so graphics cards, hard drives and memory can be bought from anyone as long as it is mac compatible :)"....Compatible... I rest my case.

  • you can also run mac on windows(illegall) for free, so screw BUYING A MAC

  • the thing that made me want to switch to mac is kost's videos and garethhall's videos. They have some great videos

  • i just hate the keyboard no f-n backspace instead delete in other words no delete!

and i hate the mice, but i think the interface is intreging in fact i downloaded a mac theme for my pc

so i get the sounsounds ,widows ,themes ,and ,docklet (,even the menu bar.

  • Sorry if this sounds means, but where are you getting your info? On an iMac, the delete key above the enter key is backspace, while the delete key under help is your delete forward. I'm not positive that it's the same for the new Apple keyboard. If it's not true for the new keyboards, then Microsoft's Mac site lists some keyboards that have backspace for Mac.

  • are you saying there is BOTH backspace and delete!

because i tryd my teachers g4macbook

or what ever it was called

and it has a delete key that backspaces!

and no key that deletes.. understand?

there is a key that delets the left side of the curser but not the right side of the curser....

  • Well, according to images and acutal video tips, only the Macbooks (not sure if regular but definitely the pro version) and the new wireless Apple keyboard don't have a delete forward (right side) button. All I can say is that my current Apple keyboard can do both (I tried it). The thing you're complaining about is a laptop, which means it won't apply to all Apple computers. I'll try and look up that video about deleting on the right side for you later, may be it will you.

  • Alright the URL is:

I did not find the video I saw mentioning it. However, here is the linking that discusses how to forward delete on Macbooks.

    video . google . com / videoplay? docid = 4381721504239650547 &q = delete+forward+Macbook &total = 1&start = 0&num = 10&so = 0&type = search&plindex = 0

remove the spaces for the address to work

  • the delete backwards key and delete forwards key are the same on the new macBooks, you just have to use the function key to delete forwards

  • Thanks for the reply. I knew that the delete forwards and delete backwards key was the same, but did not know for what models, besides MBP.

  • People are going to start to relising that you get more for your money and better quality with a Mac. Dont belive me? Look at the benchmarks. Look at the software and hardware prices. Look at how little you have to maintain OS X. Look how much lower Leopards system requierments are than Vista, and how long you wont have to upgrade. Its overall much cheaper.

  • Now that they are able to use Windows XP or Vista I am definitely gettin a Mac.

  • @JerryWE Why would you get a mac to run windows?!?!?!

  • @amrahc3232 Build Quality, looks, Tech Support, etc

  • @TechTalkTips Ok, what I meant, was that it's stupid to do that. It's like me buying a PS3 to run linux, granted, PS3 doesn't support linux anymore, but you get the point. Anyways, those are irrelevant. 1.) I build my own PC's, and they have superior build quality compared to macs's. 2.) IMO, the PC's I have built and bought look better than macs. Not really a fan of the macs design. Though I hate when computers are too flashy. 3.) I have better tech support than apple, the internet.

  • @amrahc3232 You make a Valid point but, the thing is most people dont build their own pc s like me and you. The general Consumer wants a computer that: works, is going to last them, Look half way decent, and a computer that if it fails the company will fix it without any fuss. most people would rather call the company and explain their problem rather than search through forums. in the end i love building pcs, but enjoy the "no hassle" of being on a mac

  • Wasent this guy on tech TV, I think it has turned into G4 now...

  • I wonder what kind of worthless asshole you are to post THAT as a response! Try not to piss off your mother in that basement!

  • took you a week to come up with that did it? I'll stay away from the obvious response "no, that's your mother in my basement" comment ;)

  • That's not hell, it's the spinning beachball of death ;)

  • I thought I made it clear I'm NOT buying a crapple ;)

  • ok then buy microshit then;)

  • Whoa! mac can zoom? whoa! mac can expose? OMG Mac is going to be able to do VirtualDesktops?

    Geez, mac are really slow.

And people say vista is over-hyped.

  • Ive got to say i had the swop to a mac because of my course which i am doin which is video edit But i am very glad i have after i belive mac is way head of windows and there struggling to keep you with the stuff mac has. Soon i feel more and more people will swop to mac and windows will fade out coz they really are that good.

  • you can get software for windows that reads the color profile as well, but it we talk just what comes with os i guess it's true.

  • my mom is not very computer savy and has trouble working on a winpc but give her a mac running osx and there is no problems so i guess if you grew up around winpcs like myself because of school you will obviously have no problems and know how to avoid them on a winpc and moving to a mac is very easy and i love osx

  • I don't hate people who buy macs, My neighbor has a Mac book and I have never used but it looks nice. I just don't like Apple product tech support.

  • I personally don't agree that Macs come with more for the money. Yes, the Mac hardware is coming down in price, but it is still more expensive than the PC equivalent hardware. The Mac Pro, for instance, does seem cheap, and it is, in my eyes, very good value for money, but it is still quite a bit more expensive thn a comparable PC. But, adding software after buying the PC system, will bring the price just under the Macs price, so they are nearly the same.

  • macs are just so much better than PCs. they are nicer to look at, much easier to use, can run any OS, come with more stuff for the price, just overall better. I have a regular MacBook, not the pro, and am able to play any game easily in Windows in boot camp.

  • What I hate is when people write MAC when they mean Mac.

    Mac = Macintosh Computer

MAC = Media Access Control address

And that's NOT the same thing!

  • Sure, there's a somewhat slight "learning-curve" going from Windows to MAC. But MAC OS has always been structured from the ground-up to be intuitive and user-friendly. Once you get the hang of the menu similarities, everything falls into place rather naturally and effortlessly for the average Windows user. Same applies going to the Linux "Window Managers" (GUI's). And it's surprisingly less intimidating, once you just spend a little time with it. Either way, no Win BSOD! :)

  • Just use a Mac and run Vista or whatever virtualised on your Mac, you are not going to lose anything.

  • Yeah I have been using Mac since last christmas. Its great and everything, only thing is that it doesn't support very graphic games right now. But on the upside you can look up for folders in a blink of an eye on spotlight. Loading time isn't that bad even if you had max out your harddrive. Also, Macs has a lot of useful program already built in. Also you don't have to 'install' most program, if you know what I mean. (its run on a cache I believe?)

  • I use a macbook pro 17inch and I run windows xp ,Mac OS and Ubuntu Linux without using paralles. The way Apple lets you run all 3 oses is a real boom to the developer. But if there is no reason to run os x go with a pc. Apple charges a lot for hardware.

  • All new Mac users are switchers, they do it for a reason, and not many regret it. There's got to be something in just that - think about it.

  • Well they have the money to switch. For me I can't afford a $1000 Mac Book even though there are faster/cheaper laptops out there.

  • You must tell me what those faster cheaper ones are? Name them?

  • Uh I don't know um a Dell XPS M1210 laptop which is slightly cheaper. But still Apple is expensive. How can an 8 GB Nano cost the same as a 30 GB iPod? Apple sells because they have a stupid fan base and whatever piece of shit they put an Apple logo on it sells, like the iPhone

  • "Uh I don't know um a Dell XPS M1210 laptop which is slightly cheaper." You're correct.. you don't know. If you are going to do some hating, then you should probably do some research first. That Dell you mentioned with the same specs the base MacBook is actually more expensive than the MacBook, and the MacBook comes with far more built-in, very capable software.

  • You didn't mention the iPod part which is fact...

  • Let me get this straight; you are comparing a product made by a company to another product made by the same company.. what's really your point? And if you were wondering why the 8GB nano is the same price as a 30GB iPod, well firstly the nano uses flash storage which is smaller, which is why the nano is tiny, and way more expensive and gives you much better battery life. The good things is you're not forced to buy it, which is why I own a little shuffle - which I'm perfectly happy with.

  • I've compared a Mac to an XPS laptop, a Mac is $250 cheaper. You need to understand that the baseline of macs normally have better stats than other PC venders, I had to bring up the hardware a little bit on the XPS to match the Mac.

  • DIDN't know about the track zoom thing! Thanks Chris!!!

  • Switch to os x!!

  • i was there when he did that im the person named but

  • I was a PC power user for many years and I made the switch to mac a little over a year now, and I must say it's been amazing....I think the best piece of software for mac power users is Quicksilver form Blacktree...(it's a 3rd party app and it's free)...the windows equivalent is Dash but be prepared to pay for it

  • I just started using Quicksilver a few days ago and it's great, I agree. I don't need to throw the Applications folder on my dock anymore because of it :-D

  • I have my dock on hidden view because I hardly use it......Chris should do an entire show on Quicksilver

  • Oh man I want those monitors. Anyway yeah, once I got a MacBook Pro, I don't think I will ever want to use any Microsoft OS.

  • I don't like it! It's not Windows! lol.

  • i use all three operating systems at the same time

  • There are more than 3 OS on the planet you know?

  • and .....do we care about those others os's? No...:)

  • Without 'the other OS's' you wouldn't have OS X as we know today.

  • And who are "we" referring to? There are more people than those who just want to run "all three OS's".

  • all three big OSs - Linux, Windows, OS X

  • I prefer my big five BSD's - FreeBSD, OpenBSD, netBSD, DragonflyBSD and Mac OS X; which all run fine on my Mac; thank you very much.

  • i dont really like most of the bsds

  • I don't really like Windows.

  • to each their own

  • That's what I am trying to getting at, so yea good to see you saying that now... just don't assume "all 3" is 'all there is'.

  • Macs are like the easiest fucking computers to use in the universe.

    You're living forever.

  • Dude ... "learning curve on a Mac??" ... GMAB

  • Don't switch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why? Switching is very good, people learn what they've been missing out on.

  • Mac may have its lead pretty soon. OS X is pretty sniffty i tried it in Fry's the electronic store with like everything there i must say it is easier in some parts then Windows and much cooler to run Windows on a Mac. Maybe in the future i may just switch to Mac idk ;D

  • I just cant love Mac... I have some friends who say me... Mac is better... But I hate... I realy prefer Windows... Even Vista... May be less simple ak ''cute'' But realy more cool:D

    Windows Rule's!!

  • i run OSx86 its Mac OS X for standard PC's, Mac OS is nice i dont see why people bash so much

  • You run a very illegal version of Mac OS X.

  • Perhaps maybe in the US, but the Apple EULA may not apply else where.

  • I'm not referring to that. The x86 version uses (from every case I've heard and the tutorial itself) a hacked version which is downloaded online for free. Now that is illegal everywhere.

  • That is illegal, yes.

But you own a copy then you are free to make changes to the kernel so that it works on a compatible x86 machine. The OSX86 has documentation for doing this thing... not a thing for regular Joes though...

  • i dont tend to use it that much tho i do like OS X but i play a lot of games like Seven Co-op & Counter-Strike and software that you can only run on windows and VM software dont run them properly

  • Those games eventually will be ported to OS X.

  • cool! first comment! Well, I just have one thing to say to all the people who say vista is bad: according to wikipedia, mac os 10.0 had some problems. so, I just want to ask for some time for vista. ALso, I have no problem with mac osx, I hust hate the CRAZY users. that is all....

  • I really miss the lack of menus on Vista :(

I would agree with you, OS X and Windows are pretty similar; there are huge differences yeah, but it's not insanely challenging to change.

  • darn second :P Windows ftw macs cant play games

  • you may want to do some homework. mac do play games. ea and id

  • yeah, but directx > cider engine.

The games that will be released for OSx won't run at full native speeds. PWNT!

  • Macs got OpenGL...

  • Yeah, but the good games that are being ported to OSx are going to run with the cider engine and not OpenGL. Also, OpenGL is nowhere near as good for gaming as directx.

  • OpenGL>DirectX Do some research, we can play an game you lot can.

  • yeh if u enjoy pac man and the sims then great

  • What are you talking about? I mean, we can play any game you guys can on Windows. Are you saying that you only play Pacman and the Sims? Man you need a life.

  • first
