  • I really like your accent.

maybe it's also just your personality, don't know :)

some American accents are really annoying, in MY opinion, but yours is not.. :D

  • @lemonrain13 Thank you for pointing that out.

  • Down in Pittsburgh we call that "Bubbly Carbonated Drink" pop. We also say 'yinz instead of 'yall , people still say "Hey you guys" and stuff but it's more natural to say 'yinz.

  • i've heard the way you say it aluminum and pronounced (Al-You-Min-Yum)

  • wicked pissa video, going to the bah to drink some beahs

  • @B0STONBRIAN hahahahahaahha

  • 8. What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?

"Shoppin' kaht." My favorite, sweet vid.

  • Pill Bug

  • In Britain, aluminum is spelled with that extra "i" after the "n."

  • @lemonrain13 every time i watch the history channel and its narrated by a British person i hear them say aluminium... i thought i was goin crazy lol. i went to London and was you guys sounds funny in a joking way... im from Boston and they're like.. you sounds funny! lol

  • you are gorgeous! ;)

  • "GET A BONER! GET A BONER! GET A BONER!" how in the world did I get from Jimmy Fallon's kurt kobain impression to this lol

  • Wow she is adorable :3

  • Im a New Englander More like massachuettite

  • You don't sound like what one thinks of as Bostonian, but you do really come across as a New Englander to my ear.

  • Lol wtf. This is interesting. Also random since I was listening to Killswitch Engage when I saw this video lol

  • never mind

  • what about pahhhhhhhkkkk the cahhhhhh in the hahhhhvahhd yahhhhd

  • "aluminium"is almost in spanish which is "aluminio"

  • You rock!

  • lol at 4:19 you sounded very australian.

  • I keep hearing Denis Leary's voice in my head sayin' stuff like: aigh (alright), ka (car), asshole (asshole), and this video is to blame. :)

  • You're beautiful...i won't lie, i only watched this because you're cute, but you're confident and smart and this was a cool video ... p.s. It's a British thing saying AlluMINIUM as opposed to aluminum, you can tell by the spelling -Boston & Proud

  • @360toLyfe In 1761, Louis-Bernard Guyton de Morveau, a French chemist, isolated aluminum for the first time and called his discovery "alumine."

Humphry Davy, is credited with renaming "alumine" to "alumium" in 1807. This was later altered to "aluminum" in 1827, when the German chemist, Friedrich Wohler, isolated Oersted's 1825 discovery. Two years later, in 1829, "-ium" was added to the end of the name to create "aluminium," because of its new mineral status. Aluminum is ONLY used in the USA.

  • "one of those people is my nana and she's 92 soo" hahahahah

  • YOU. ARE. SO. ATTRACTIVE. <3

  • Oh and we just say grandaddy instead of grandaddy long leg

  • Where I'm at we say y'all instead of you guys or whatever and we don't say pop or soda we just call it coke so pretty sure everybody knows where I'm from lol

  • I am from Mexico and i learn English in Australia so when i came to America some were mucking me in my pronunciation of Aluminum, but i see Bawstin New England accent is the closest thing to British. Your video was very enjoyable :)

  • who all came up with these questions?! lmao

apparently those are just random objects to them..without names? i dont get it

  • @dirtygoats they're just asking to see what you call them since they're all objects that have different names in different regions. they describe them so that they aren't giving them a specific name, since you're going to be naming them in the answer (like how a remote can also be called a clicker and soda can also be called pop or tonic, etc.)

  • You know, I came here thinking you were going to be some dumb girl thinking they were all cool from southie, but then I watched the video, and I think I deserve you an apology even though you didn't know that's why I came here. You are really sweet and nice, I thought you should now that. Alright carry on!

  • @FeebiDraven haha thanks :)

  • @FeebiDraven Hey, I read your comment with no expectations one way or the other, but you struck me as a swell person. I'm glad there are people out there like you. Keep on being cool, man.

  • @hipnickster Thanks!

  • wicked cute ;)

  • the boston accent quite similar to the newcastle/northumberland accent, especially sure cause we say it sura

  • I really like your personality! You're really smart and pretty, unlike most girls these days :p +1!

  • @kayspace1 aw thank you! :)

  • @kayspace1 Yeah, I agree. She is bubbly and seems very nice and outgoing. :) Very pretty etc. :)

  • lets go out

  • I normally don't watch stuff like this EVER but that was worth it.

  • Enjoyed it. I'm sick of hearing the "boston accent" jokes. The problem is when you slip into it while drinking.

  • grew up in that area with parents who didn't have the accent too. understandable. good job with the video

  • @odistabettor thanks!

  • well strangely this has helped me with my English Language coursework

  • 'tis Aluminum in the states and I think that the guy who named it was American. Aluminium is how they say (and spell) it in the UK and quite a lot of other places because it's sounds similar to other elements

  • You're funny, nice accents. 😉

  • i say yall not you all but i think your accent is so cute and i dont like the word clicker and i love rolly poleys me and my sis use to put them in water to see if they would flote then we would throw them at each other.

  • @gabilovesheatherlynn And this is from....what Alabama? I don't think I've ever heard the word Rolly Poley before

  • Comment removed

  • @anisocoro no! do you really think that just because i'm white i'm a white supremacist?

  • Comment removed

  • you have a slight accent!!:) but omg you speak so clear!!

  • up here in canada we call question 2 a potatoe bug they're annoying cuz the dont do anything at all but walk

  • Your so cute :)

  • aliminium is the name on the periodic table... its an american thing because it was a name that an american brand used... kinda like wanting a kleenex instead of a tissue or saying styrofoam is a foam cup... styrofoam is a brand that doesnt make anything used for eating or drinking

  • why would you wanna skip your rambling thats prolly the best part lol

  • OH shiz. Rolie Polie Olie. :P

  • Lol, that's cool. You're the first person to mention saying coupon--- "q-pon" instead of coo-pon. I'm from southern Jersey and we always would say q-pon. :)

  • In Massachusetts instead of water fountain we say bubbla

  • Americans say it the way you say it which is fine, but in Europe and Australia (that i know of) its pronounced "Allah-minium" but not spoken slow or protracted.

  • in the united states we maintained aluminum with one i in europe they added a second i fourty years later to be contemporary with naming practices of the time. ie strontium borium etc. but the united states honors what the original scientist called it. so who ever told you that you were wrong for calling it aluminium have them google "aluminum" and then "aluminium"

  • U did well and i live in boston and pronouce them exactly as u said them ^^

  • Thumb up if you like this vid because of her beauty :)

  • I totally love your accent ! Also in regards to your aluminium VS aluminum - I'm Australian & everyone here says aluminium (pronouncing the 2nd i! ), but yeah I know everyone in the states says aluminum the way you do, as far as I know it's an american thing.

  • rocket, i love em too!

  • Nice video Hahaha I bet you have Irish blood in you :D you look really Irish trust me I know I'm from Ireland :p

  • I like your hair and your eyes. You are pretty :D

  • You sound better without the accent. Js.

(Ended her cuz of a departed video #winning)

  • hahaha well, I did one of these too =)

im not from boston though LOL

    im from KY

  • It's interesting to me that my late husband said his "rs" more like "ah" and he was from South-End-On Sea and London, England.

  • We say aluminum in British Columbia, Canada.

  • Aluminium is British.

  • Your Boston accent sounded like a natural.

Im from South Boston and I dont consider my accent that thick but it comes out when a say things like car or ma.

People expect to hear an accent like Matt or Ben or the Walbergs will do. Thats just an exaggeration. Though it does get thicker in areas like Southie, NorthEnd and Charleston.

More people these days say soda but I grew up saying tonic. I asked a coworker to get me a boss tonic a few years ago and she looked at me like i was crazy.lol

  • You're wicked pretty!

  • 11. What do you call the store where liquor is purchased? (The packie!) ;-)

  • Also, you're a total sweetheart :') subscribed.

  • @PieceofMindmusic thanks! :)

  • "Aluminium" is the latin pronunciation. "Aluminum" is the American English pronunciation.

  • yu so cute

  • You're so hot! <3

  • LOL...NICE JOB KID!! ;)

  • The lady married to your uncle is pronounced "ahhnt", with a broad a if you asked me. You said it in the video like my grandma from new york! haha Also caught and cot sound like two different words when I say them. I'm from just outside of Boston and have an accent, so I thought about it and that's how I'd say those words. Nice job trying it out!

  • @HeyHeyHeyItsDave Oh and your groceries go in a carriage at the supermarket of course... You take your bundles out to the car in a carriage. Well I still would say groceries, but I'm sure you've heard bundles at least once!

  • you are cute ;)

  • @DPalms309 aww thanks :)

  • In England, it's spelled Aliminium because it's spelled that way here.

  • Comment removed

  • aww ur accent cute

  • Aluminium is the english way to say it, yeah. To Americans it's always aluminum

  • You did a great job! One word that I wanna help you on is pecan. It's actually pronounced pi-cahn with a boston accent. But other than that you did really good. NICE JOB:)

  • @DPBYaTuSabes Thank you :)

  • @vtekmonstah your so cute! =D

  • So cute! I am from Mass and the accent is really heavy. I really don't have a Boston accent because my mom was from OHIO so I learned to speak from her. My accent is slight. I live in the south and most people think I am from MI. I can't say Sparring though I say Spaghin and there is no cure so I don't say it lol....

  • I'm a slightly homesick Massachusian who thoroughly enjoyed this video.

    GO PATS!

  • @coolworx hell yeah! :)

  • you clearly know nothing of the boston accent.

  • @CarbonInTheCrease clearly! it's not like i've lived here my whole life surrounded by people who have a boston accent :P

  • @vtekmonstah - you shouldn't make videos like this then, it offends real people from the area. we don't appreciate being the butt of your jokes.

  • @CarbonInTheCrease You do know that was sarcasm right? What jokes? I never said anything bad about Bostonians in this video, then I'd be making fun of myself which wouldn't really have a point.

  • @CarbonInTheCrease I think she did a pretty good job for someone who doesn't naturally have one. I think instead of being a hater you should totes like help her out instead!

  • @DPBYaTuSabes - i don't remember asking you...

  • english people pronounce aluminium: alum-in-yum

  • Americans have actually dropped the second "i" in "Aluminium".

    So damn lazy... -_-

Also, the H in HERB is NOT SILENT! UGH!!

  • @Menkhor Everyone that I know doesn't pronounce the H, whichever way you choose to pronounce it just really depends on what region you're in. Pronunciation rules aren't always universal, and that's what the point of this tag was.

  • @Menkhor you're such a herb

  • @Menkhor and why is that something to get pissed off about?? It's just how Americans talk. Chill out.

  • that pronunciation of aluminum is actually how britians say it, al-oo-min-i-um or how ever it is broken down lol

  • mean't to say heavy >.<

  • She fooled me. I don't have the accent but I do happen to have friends who have really have the dialect O.o

  • o she sounds sort of like mine

  • you are sexy!!!

  • Yah, Al-lu-min-e-um pronounced does come from England, Because My dads family used to say that.

  • I'm from Ottawa, Canada and you sound pretty much like me or friends that grew up in a big Canadian city (ie. Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa). One main difference is how you pronounce A's more in your nose, and we say it more in our throat. Once you get into rural Canada though, the Canadian accent is pretty strong.

I find when I talk to my friends from rural Canada I pick up their accent. Do you find this when you talk to your friends with Boston accents? Also, what do you think of Canadians? haha

  • Armadillo bug

  • Brits say alaminium

  • It's aluminium almost everywhere else in the world outside US—comes from Latin. Not saying that either way is wrong.

  • My dad is from Salem so I know the Boston accent and you totally nailed it.

  • I live wicked close to Boston & nobody really has heavy accents, but like every other word the r disappears lol. & I love how confused u were with all of the other 'terms' I guess around? Haha I've only heard the words u said too

  • If part of you wants the accent and part of you doesn't, learn how to switch ;)

  • @ThomasTheGlitcher haha i doubt my accent's good enough to fool bostonians with real accents ;)

  • Haha this is great - I live in England and we say aluminium with the second "i" pronounced but we also pronounce the rest of the world differently. We emphasise the "al" and "min". :)

  • I remember that show!

  • Omg I really do talk like that.... smh lol!

  • Has anyone ever told you you look like Carrie from Mythbusters?

  • @Valerie5421 haha i love her! but no one's ever told me that before :)

  • Can some good, kind person answer my questions please? D8 I'm from South Carolina and I may go to college in Boston next year....I was wondering, is it true that people in the North don't say "Yes sir" or "No ma'am"? I've heard that people get offended if you say that...Will people make fun of me because I don't have a Boston accent? 8( I know these may sound like stupid questions but I need to know... DX

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul while it's true that no one around here says that, i definitely don't think anyone would be offended! if anything they might be a little shocked because you'd be coming off as wicked polite ;) i'd be careful with using ma'am because some women feel like you're calling them old by saying that haha. and people definitely won't make fun od you for not having a boston accent! not everyone here (myself included) has one :)

  • @vtekmonstah Alright, thank you for answering my questions. 8) Do you guys not say it because it's just not part of Northern culture? I thought someone was going to attack me or something for asking that, ha ha. My friend used to live in Boston and she said Bostonians were rude. I don't know why she would say that...I think that's ignorant of her to say that. 8/ Thanks for answering me honestly. 8D
