Madeleine Carroll is gorgeous in this movie. She's also marvelous in "Honeymoon in Bali", if you haven't seen that one!

His name was pronounced as DOUGH-KNAT, (an accent on the latter) a superb actor who unfortunately succumbed to Asthma when very young. His film Goodbye Mr Chips was splendid, unlike anything coming from Hollywood in this era.
