Marijas song was the best in Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki! I was Marijas driver as voluntary about 2 weeks. Marija is a very good singer, nice, warm and beautiful young lady. All the best for you Marija and Boznia-Herzegovina.
Bolestan covek.
Bolesniku bolesni i nepismeni. Ja sam pisao o Mariji ŠESTIĆ, a ne o Mariji ŠERIFOVIĆ!!!
Ja nigde nisam pisao o nacionalnosti Marije Šerifović!
Ti si jedan težak patološki slučaj, kada pišeš ovakve boleštine i govoriš kako sve što vredi u Srbiji jesu ljudi nacionalnih manjina.
The song is great. The singer is beautiful and she has a great voice. This song deserved to be in the top 5.
But let's get one thing clear. She is representing Bosnia, but she is Serbian! Yes that is possible. A third of the people living in Bosnia are Serbs.
I am sickened by Bosnian Muslims who start to see Bosnian Serbs as "one of them" only when these Serbs are successful in the eyes of the world. Otherwise they are portrayed as animals and are said to have nothing to do with Bosnia.
Why third, Bojan? Serbs are the first people in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
It's ok, let Bosniaks speak Bosniak, if they want, but MARIA is Serb, so she sings in Serbian. It's official language in Bosnia-Hercegovina.
You're calling other people stupid, when you didn't even understand him? Bojan said a third of the people in Bosnia are Serbs, he wasn't saying that the Serbs are in the "third rank". And it's not Bosniak, but Bosnian. Bosniak is the official term for Bosnian Muslims, not the language that they speak.
I understood him perfectly, I just said that for us our nation should be always in the "first" place. I know he wasn't saying that the Serbs are in the "third rank".
Others are very stupied if they say that "vjetar" is not Serbian!

Lepotan, she represented BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA on Eurovision song contest, not Republika Srpska. I thin that coments like this are stupid. Tinka Milinkovic , Bosnian singer represented Austria on Eurovision song contest. Nobody sead that she sunged in Bosnian then. So don't be silly.
Obviously the Bosnians tried to once again acheive the success they got with the wonderful "Lejla" the year before, and they manage it quite well; a very pleasant and powerful song who sounds like a dream, not bad at all, but I think it's a little overdone. Some bizarre moves by the backingsingers too.
Sorry for this silly question, but why do the title mention the Croatian city Rijeka?
Nice song - having lived in the UK for quite a few years now I now see why the BRITS laugh at the performances of some Euro countries ie the backing singers - u dont really get perf like that in UK they find i rather OTT & abit camp
I understand, ordinary Norwegian music have a waaay higher then our ESC-offerings. I've also been in Tanzania (This summer) and USA (Some years ago) - the Norwegian TV is overall much better than what I saw there.
Thanks, and I really like both "Molitva" (Deserving winner) and "Oro". "Lane Moje" is a terrific song and would've been a much better winner than Ukraine in 2004.
Serbs and Croats are pyssy. yopu se modern happlogroup test showed and prooved that Bosnian people today have 45% Illyrian blood.
Wihle serbs have 40% slavic blood. Croats have 35% slav blood. Bosnians have only 10% slav blood.
So geneticly we are 100% diffrent people.
Bosnians are native in Bosnia for over 25.000 years. We in central Bosnia created the happlogroup Y-I2ab wich are the oldest in europe. Which means we are the oldest people in europe too.
And you have right, she sings pure Serbian, of course, because she is Serbian.
Even you are Norwegian, you are smarter than these nationalists. Linguistically, languages in Serbia, Croatia, Montengro and Bosnia-Herzegovina are the same. It is ex Serbo-Croatian which is based on the literary Serbian by linguist Vuk Karadžić (neo-shtokavian dialect).
Okey, I see, it's seems like sensitive theme though. The way pople look at Serbo-Croatian seems to vary from where in the Former Yugoslavia you're from. But I guess that there are some regional differences that makes the Serbo-Croatian in Montenegro slightly different than Serbo-Croatian in Croatia for example.(At least it's how it's in Norway, where people in Oslo talk Norwegian in another way than those living in Bergen etc.)
Idiote!
azbukaabeceda fuk u bosnian has own words and own dialect and own words
like croatian say pisma bosnian say pjesma
or serbian say pas(dog) bosnian say (suko)
and many more words this language is calle dlike that because the croats and serbs thought in ex jugoslavia that they are the boss and can call thie language like that .its a jugoslavic language not srbian and she is bosnian her parent is muslim she is born in bosnia do i say american are same like english? they speak english! fuk u !
I agree yulkmn .. She's Bosnian.. She sang for Bosnia.. Not Serbia! .. Then again.. Should we say that Marija Serifovic iz bosnian? I mean her last name is SERIFOVIC :D
if she is serbian why didnt she sing for serbia that year yeah u just GOT SERVED ALL DOSE SERBIANS THAT THINK SHE IS SERBIAN SHES BONIAN hajmo bsno bsno bsno i hercegovino

Bošnjaci, Hrvati ,Srbi i manjine su narodi BiH...A svi oni čine građane BiH prije svega. Tko to ne prihvaća ima problem.

One more thing.
There is no such thing as "Bosnian" language. It is Serbian (or Serbo-Croatian). Languages do not just spring up when a country declares independence.
If Alberta became independent from Canada they would still be speaking English, not Albertan.
Forcefully changing a few words does not do the trick.

realistESCfan 3 years ago
I understand, ordinary Norwegian music have a waaay higher then our ESC-offerings. I've also been in Tanzania (This summer) and USA (Some years ago) - the Norwegian TV is overall much better than what I saw there.
Mangoteppe 3 years ago
Certainly, but you had some really good participants on ESC (last year Maria Haukaas, or Secret Garden "Nocturno" - one of the my favourite...)

Thanks, and I really like both "Molitva" (Deserving winner) and "Oro". "Lane Moje" is a terrific song and would've been a much better winner than Ukraine in 2004.

Indeed, Rijeka is the name of a Croatian city, but it is also a common noun meaning "river". :) Hence, the song title is "The nameless river".

Then I understand, thanks! (I'm Norwegian, and have no clue about Serbian, though it sounds nice)
Mangoteppe 3 years ago
It is Bosnian, not Serbian.
Aquariusjab 3 years ago
Sorry! But doesn't she sing in Serbo-Croatian or something?
Mangoteppe 3 years ago
Yes your right but Bosnian is almost the same!
Why is it so hard to understand??
ShAdYGrEaDyLaDy 3 years ago
I'm Norwegian so I can't see the difference, but I guess that difference is very easy to see for those living in the ex-Yugoslavian countries.

ehh yes the diffrence is easy to se.
MrBosnianPyramids 2 years ago
And you have right, she sings pure Serbian, of course, because she is Serbian.
Even you are Norwegian, you are smarter than these nationalists. Linguistically, languages in Serbia, Croatia, Montengro and Bosnia-Herzegovina are the same. It is ex Serbo-Croatian which is based on the literary Serbian by linguist Vuk Karadžić (neo-shtokavian dialect).
azbukaabeceda 2 years ago
Okey, I see, it's seems like sensitive theme though. The way pople look at Serbo-Croatian seems to vary from where in the Former Yugoslavia you're from. But I guess that there are some regional differences that makes the Serbo-Croatian in Montenegro slightly different than Serbo-Croatian in Croatia for example.(At least it's how it's in Norway, where people in Oslo talk Norwegian in another way than those living in Bergen etc.)

u fuking bitch azbukaabeceda she is bosnian not a fuking serb her father wrote the natinonal anthem of bosnia so be careful what u say
shes not singing serbian she sings south slavic(jugoslavian)
language is not called serbian .
learn history then u see that serbian killed sometimes whole civil population of a city (srbrenica)
if a war hadnt been and they wouldnt be so nationalists and call bosnian people turks.
i would see them as my brothers but the reality is different.

Idiote!
You are the bitch and fucking fascist!

azbukaabeceda fuk u bosnian has own words and own dialect and own words
like croatian say pisma bosnian say pjesma
or serbian say pas(dog) bosnian say (suko)

Jadno!
I ko ovdje priča o bošnjačkom?
Marija Šestić is Serb from Banjaluka and she sings in Serbian, of course.

Was the girl scarred or what? At first her voice sounded horrible.

In my humble opinion, this is much better, much more melodic than Molitva.
