  • We're doing this at my school. The dentist is just how he's supposed to be. This is a hilarious.

  • Why is the Dentist's shirt sooooooooo BIG!

  • Getting some ideas for Mushnik. I've been cast as the part in my high school's production and this is by far the performance I've liked the best,

  • I LOVE ORIN SO MUCH.

  • WOWWW!! this is amazing! I have just got the part of Seymour in my high school's production, I hope i can be as good as that seymour!!

  • This is one of the funniest and best performances of my favorite song in all of Little Shop. I'm so excited to be doing this show at my school I get to play Crystal!

  • Amazing. I love the incorporation of the comedy in it :D

I'm doing this play this year and I have the part of Mushnik, so I'm flicking through Youtube videos to help me out with the vocals.

  • @eXoDusHD so am I, no way!!

  • Wonderful performance! Loved the choreography!

  • this is not really a comical performance and i bet all the people who said this guy was good probably came from that school. not to be mean or anything its just way too long of a scene and the song was stretched way too far. dont think im a judge mental person for saying this. it's just my opinion.

  • fantastic performance, well thought out!

  • 00:18- 00:19 priceless

  • Actually amazing! Best Mushnik and Son in the history of the show!!!!!!

  • Wow I'm extremely impressed. This is INCREDIBLE for a high school production. Actually it would be pretty darn incredible for a professional production for that matter.

  • loved all of the chracters soo much!! great show

  • I played Mr. Mushnik in my senior play in high school. I am a girl. ^-^

  • do you have suppertime??

  • This is almost as good as anything you'd see professionally. Mushnik is very good, and the kid playing Seymour is terrific! That young man DEFINITELY has star potential.

  • @zooeyhall the guy playing Seymour is Buzz431

  • I actually based my singing on mushnicks when I did this, nice job 2 mushnic

  • we did the show and our version was so much better!

  • @simonan100 no it wasnt yours sucked

  • THIS IS THE BEST ONE ON YOUTUBE!!!!

  • my school has some of the same moement that wa in this video

  • should've been in the movie!

  • GREAT SEYMOUR! <3

  • i love this! lol

  • This is my favourite Mushnik & Son video. The Mushnik is perfect and I'm liking the dentist! Best Mushnik I've seen so far.

  • hmmmm the tempo is weird... it should be a tat bit faster

  • The places where people laugh always frighten me.

  • My school just put on Little Shop, (our last show was tonight) and our blocking is legit the same as this. Although, I like our Seymour better.

  • Haha i loved Seymour in this!!! Soo funny!

  • so dang funny i could die they make a great team in this song for reals 2 thumbs way way up fun for the whole family! lol

  • I loved Mushnik's breath-holding performance! =D

  • I love everything about this production except the fact that the Audrey 2 is nearly white. In my opinion green Audrey's are the best but I've seen yellow's pulled off well and even purples!

  • i love this mushnik, our school is doing this next year and i'm playing dentist/ plant voice and i hope our mushnik can be ask good as this guy, and our seymour for that matter. I love this cast they're excellent. Plus for a school the sets quite impressive too

  • This production certainly puts mine and my Mushnik to shame.

    Great effort!

  • wow this mushnik is wel gd im playin mushnik but i cant sing im well nervous :S

  • how fast is this version please?

  • Sounds great to me its the best out of all the versions iv seen here on youtube. The acting is GREAT too.

  • The guys in your production are wonderful!

  • amazing! you cant help but laugh out load! well done!

  • Wow. I never seen it like this!

This is great! Good freaking job, it was hilarious.

Im sure that audience was huge.

  • I laughed out loud at the breth bit, and i dont norm laugh out loud on things on youtube, good job!!!

  • That was really good! I love your Mushnik, he was fantastic!!!

  • both mushnik and seymore are AMAZING!!!

  • best ive seen out of high schools...better thn ours

  • this video makes me so happy.

    i want to marry mushnik

  • You must have a big audiance. It's practically deafening.

  • this is so great! i just loved it :)

  • Just fantastic, both Mushnik and Seymour have great chemistry between them... and that what makes this scene tops, and the harmony dead on! Great would love to have these two reprise there role on Broadway someday, again great job both of you

  • Hey this is pretty darn good considering highschool performances. I put up my video of my mushnik and son (me as mushnik). I'm really glad we got a horns section.

Did you really get a combover for that part? That's dedication. o_o

  • The mushnik was perfect

  • When my highschool did this production, our Mushnik held his breath so long and started banging the phone on the desk infront of him. It was hilarious!

I wish I could get my DVD of the show to work.. I was Chiffon : )

  • Our school is doing this play and Mushnik doesn't hold his breath for that long.

  • EAR RAPE AT 3:16!!!

  • This is my favorite performance of this show out in YouTube Land.

    =D

    Especially Seymour.

He just lights up the stage, man.

    :]

  • i agree, this is that best i've seen on Youtube as well.

    super funny! :)

  • @goepinflames You should look up harriton high school's version :)

  • Everyone does that musnick Ayayay bit differently. This one is pretty close to how broadway did it. I'm Mushnik in our LSH and I plan on doing it that way too, all the way up to that A# :)

  • My grandfather was in this play a number of years ago and played Mr. Mushnick. He was great. Hopefully I can see this play again sometime.

  • at my high school we r going to do the same play and there is a guy who acts and talks like the guy who plays the dentist, i hope he can play as the dentist.

  • his face at 0:19 thats the money shot

    LOL!!!!!!

  • Can u give the karaoke version of this song please?¿?! u_U'... I 've been asked for that! I'd be really thankfuL!

  • hey im playing mushnik this year in the school play but there is one issue. there wasnt enough good male actors and my teacher decided to change Mushnik into a Mrs. Mushnik and give me the part. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? please send me a message if u do!

  • yeah same thing happened to me. have as much fun with it as you possibly can. also pretending to be angry ALL the time is rather fun.

  • this was spectacular

great job on both Musnik and Seymour and even Orin at the begining

  • Just got our various-sized Audrey II's....... they look just like that one (audition still at least a month away, right now we're in run/dress throughs for "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead," I'm Polonius there.)

  • sooo im playin mushnik this year in our school play :D

ifff any one has any tips on playing this role,,, tell me yo =)

    thanxs mucho lots,,, later

  • hay so am i i love this song im so excited

  • i'm playing muschnik too!!

  • As I said earlier, I don't know all this music terminology (just want to sing just well enough to get the part, I KNOW, and so does my teacher/director, that I have the character down.)

So- what is pitch, tone, tempo, and all that?

    Thanks, and mazeltov mein khavers!

  • Pitch is hitting the right notes. Tone is basically like projection and tempo is speed. Most are pretty self explanatory when someones telling you about it

  • The shimmy is so much harder than it looks when singing

  • @Codezzzz even though this was posted 2 yrs ago...tone is not like projection at all, it is the way you sing the words i.e angry, sad, happy, desperate....

  • @JACFeva765 What are you on about? I wasn't referring to either projection or tone. I merely meant the fact that you're using your lungs for more than just singing at the same time.

  • @Codezzzz "Tone is basically like projection." those are your words dude. ANYWAY thanks for clearing that up with me. im not trying to be on you about anything, just trying to clarify EXACTLY what you ment.

  • @JACFeva765 (3 months later I reply) It's because you replied to a different comment that I was confused what you were talking about haha. I forgot I made that other comment.

  • I played Mushnik in our production of Little Shop of Horrors 4 years ago.

    Greatest part EVER!

  • just thought i would say that that was one of the most amazing, fantastic , hilarious things i've ever seen! fantabulous job!

  • Ahh I have just performed LSOH as Mushnik. It was so fun! Went well, too :)

  • I'm a Yiddish Jew, and I'm going to be a senior this coming year; we're doing LSOH, and I want Mushnik, everyone wants me to get it. Teacher/Director says I've already got the sleezy cranky side (just finished playing Paravichini in The Mousetrap, to give you an idea) but I HAVE to learn how to sing.

Just decent enough for the part.

    Any tips?

  • Don't try to push yourself. Just sustain the sound of your speaking voice. If that doesn't work, character voice.

  • this is the best i've seen so far. :)

  • do you have suppertime posted?

  • I hope I do as good as that =P

  • good luck!

  • 1st "pre-audition" today, as we just saw if we had the right people to put on the show. I snag the first few lines of this, and it went well! They said I should work one tone. Any suggestions?

I owe so much of whatever success I had to listening to this Mushnik. Thanks and kudos!

  • Ok......... I know he has to sing Mushnik and Son and Closed for Renovation, what else does he take a LEAD singing? (Harmonizing, I do, I think, and for big chorus seens, I'll hide my voice behind someone good.) ;)

1st singing audition tommorow- any tips at all on singing? PLEASE?! I want to be him so badly, and like my teacher/director says, if I can sing, I'm 90% cast.

Anyone else have a director who chooses a play and casts it before he or she casts it, if you know waht I mean...

  • it's weird. every Mushnik and son video i've seen has a mr. mushnik. Our school just did this musical and they had a MRS. mushnik

  • I WANT to be Mushnik, if we do this next year (and it's looking like we will, crissing my fingers!), but I CANNOT SING!

any tips, because my director said if I could sing I'd probably get the part.

I'm the department specialist on sleezy/shady/jerk characters, and I love it. Plus, I'm 100% Jewish, and can thus easily do the accent, so that's a plus.........

Any acting or singing tips would be appreciated- thanks and mazeltov!

  • U Don't need to sing THAT good to be mushnik, Trust me!

I'm gonna be Mushnik this year, and I Can't sing for $hit

Heck, the only reason I got the part was because I can ACT like Mushnik lol

  • So can I- agasin, I'm the Jerk specailist, and I'm Jewish, so I can do the accent. ;)

    Still- any singing tips?

  • Well...Mushnik has some pretty major songs in there.

  • Ahh yes! he part of Mushnik is an extremely fun part. I am him this year for my High School's June production.

  • What does mazeltov mean?

Also - can you settle a debate for me? Bubbelah - is it pronounced boo-beh-lah or buh-be-lah?

  • "tov" means good, and "mazel" is usually applied to something like good in a higher, more occaisional sense, so mazeltov is a congradulation or ecstasy on a special occaision, like a birthday or New Year's.

And ""oo" as in "food" pronunciations in Yiddish are rare, so it is "buh-ba-lah."

  • Woot, I am the best Mushnik in the land!

  • Psh, you suck. =P

  • I play Mushnik but we don't have this song. ;(

  • Srry to hear that, I Know it's in the script wee reading, but i'm not sure if it will make the final cut =(

  • I thought it was quite funny, but I wish the Audrey would have put on some sort of voice like she is supposed to. It's pretty much a necessary Audrey thing.

Don't get me wrong, it was really well done!

  • I thought that you guys totally killed the song/scene, orin is trying to act like Steve Martin from the movie

  • i like how this school did the whole performance

it makes it funnier than the film

    dont get me wrong

    the film is great

but there wasnt really any laugh out loud moments

    this is great :)

  • i thought this was very well done. i am the mushnik understudy at my high school as well as the interviewer. and im pumped. i didn't like the audrey much. she couldn't control her laughter in the beginning. i think ours is a way better actress.

  • lol audrey is trying not to laugh, when orin was doing that weird look

  • hmm i jealous of your plant...ares was super heavy and solid haha...you should it out.

  • We are also doing "Little Shop" at our school and the guys playing Seymour and Musnik are hilarious. **Seymour is great in the whole play on here. :)

  • The character, who is a biker dentist, in a comedy isn't supposed to be funny???

  • Well yeah. He doesnt beat on Audrey for comic relief!

  • eh, our preduction was better.

  • don't you mean "production?"

  • haha ya! me and my dang spelling

  • LMFAO!

we did this play at my school,

and it wasnt half as good as you guys

    you really are so talented.

this song came out great! :D

  • Oh My God, Mushnik is brilliant, very convincing in his character's age for a high schooler.

  • These two are good together! So funny, I laughed so hard until I had to piss. Then I laughed at that.

  • I was deprived from this play when i missed it at my school, but this one is great! it's so funny!!!

  • We Did This At School , Except A Girl

Played Mushnick ! She Was Great ..

  • "Now sir don't be rash, u always said that i was trash"

    "Oh i was joking"

    "sir I'm choking!"

    so awesome!

  • absolutely gutbusting it seems like you went off script a little in your production. A definate success

  • best production on youtube

  • agreed.

  • best production on youtube

  • i love this song in the play!!!

i wish it was in the movie or on the sound track

this brings back so many memories fronm when my school did it =]

  • hey. i have 2 tell u guys that our school bcc in australia have based our mushnik n son on yours. i will show u when i can upload it. i jst want 2 thank u guys for it. peace

  • I love the Mushnik. I think he's amazing and the Seymour is amazing too, but the Audrey tries to be funny to make up for the fact she can't really sing. Actually she can't. But Mushnik and seymour ARE AMAZING =)

  • Another good one; try not to let it get to your head.

  • MUSHNIK KICKS ASS! omg i wasnt crazy about the audrey but when mushnik did that 'insi....yiyiyiyide" it melted me!

  • This is the best seymour and mushnik on the net. i lovge when mushnik if holding his breath i have seen this video like 50 times and it still cracks me up. Seymour is also a great singer.

  • those two are real professionals.. even though theyr'e highschoolers

  • I can't get over how amazing this Seymour is! And Dentist (whose name I forget XD) is absolutely hilarious.

This Mushnik is great, too. :)

  • This was amazing just amazing really funny and just well amazing.

  • wow, this made me laugh so much lol!

  • Wow, i have been watching a lot of lsoh clips, because i am playing in the show soon, and by far this is THE best one i have seen that was done by a high school, thanks for posting it i have a lot of ides ;) you guys did awesome

  • oo who are you in it??

  • Seymour :)

  • She was trying not to corpse at the beginning, did you notice? :)

  • This video just made my day

    =D

  • pauses were both briliant and horrible all in one song. Some of the subtle pauses like the "seymour...(pause) how would you like...(pause) to be...(pause) my son?" were briliant. But the "inside" line from mushnik was way to long and the holding breath scene was also to long. Other than pauses i loved the dancing in this one too and the singing (harmonies i loved) was very very good.

  • This is the best rendition of this song that I've seen. Your timing's great, the little touches are hilarious. Great work!

  • DKAFBJSDF that was awesome

  • I have to say that this is the best Mushnik and Son I've seen on here. The pauses are amazing, the harmonies at the end are dead on. We are doing little shop this year and I had to suggest the noise when Mushnik is holding his breath! I play the drums for the production and I heard him do it and it made me smile and think of this!!

  • I prefer the shorter version on the original Off-Broadway Cast Recording, 'cause it's a lot easier to memorize!

  • They were absolutely phenominal at the paueses during everything i saw from these.

  • I looked all videos from this group. Just great. That is so fantastic!

    greetings from germany

  • I like this performance, but the characters kinda fall into sterotypical misinterpretations of the characters. In the front of the MTI script i specifically tells you not to do this. Its still good though!

  • Yea, I noticed that they did this in their performance during this whole play...and I noted that it says that in the script as well.

  • It was a good performance, but i found some of the acting a little hammy at times. A lot of the acting was looking for uneccessary laughter at the wrong times.

  • its supposed to be hammy...its little shop of horrors! We did this last year for our musical this was difinatly one of my fav. parts of the show and you guys did GREAT the only thing that is kinda odd to me is the trio. they dont realy get into it...but thats fine!

  • i love its the best ive seen but it wasnt better than my schools production but it did make me laugh a lot and the singing was amasing

  • Oh my God! That was amazing! Seymour's and Mushnik's voices really blended well together. The dancing was great and I thought that the stage chemistry was definatly there. The only tinnie, tiny thing I would have to say is a flaw is that Mushnik could've been a little more Jewish. All in all, excellent performance!

  • Mushnik is as cute as he can be. All of the clips of this production are top notch!

  • I thought Seymour was very good (although a little too fond of falling over) and Mushnik's singing was good, though I had pictured him more Jewish, and less overly dramatic (the breath holding, and 'inside'). And the less said about Orin the better. I liked the dancing.

  • lol i'm playing Mushnik this year in our production, cuz there's so few blokes in our school we've changed it to Ms. Mushnik! this production's really good, Seymore and Mushnik are hilarious!

  • I love this song. I was Mushnik this past year, nd it ws such a fun part to do. Good work.

  • The actor for Mr. Mushnik is perfect for this! I absolutely song this song! Though the music could've had a bit more.... I don't know, a more Jewish sound to it.

  • I did this in high school about 5 years ago, I was Mushnik... really great character work in this one...

  • I almost fell out of the chair. This is soooooooooo funny!

  • absolutely classic, kudos to you guys, you pull it off amazingly and you got the charecterization down pact, im playing mushnik in my school play and i think he's the funniest charecter in the show, you just have to know how to use the role to get its full advantages great work you should be proud

  • Nice Work guys

  • i like it but i did this show and nobodys besides maybe Clinton has down it better vocals arent thats strong

  • You guys are so funny, I'm going to watch this thirty-one times in a row. Mushnik is so hot!

  • Wow, you are really good!

  • I officially love you two. XD
