    "Certain qin players waver and swing when playing. I don't agree with that, when I ask them why, they say they like it that way.

    I [ask] in return 'what strength do you use when playing the instrument?', and some answer finger strength, others wrist and elbows, and some shoulders. I say they are all wrong. What they should be using is the Qi (natural force) from the whole body.

    We have Jing (essence), Qi (Force), Shen (spirit), and if we contain our Qi [into the qin], we inject our Shen into it. If you start swaying, the Qi will disperse. If the Qi/Yi (intention) is dispersed, there is no Shen left to be seen or speak of."
