Even though the original is probably the best I really loved Karate Kid II because I was fascinated by Japan at the time I saw it (probably late 80s on TV) and the girl he got in that one was so gorgeous (to me anyway). I don't know how I missed 3... I'm going to have to watch it now. I couldn't get myself to watch the "remake" since that's not even Karate.... Wasn't "The Next Karate Kid" the one with the girl? Looked stupid...
i think all 3 were great. i think it was good to stop at three because if a number 4 came out it would loose interest. but if it had a good plot to it then i woul watch it . the karate kid by jaden smith is bascically number 1 all over again :P but still a great movie.
I can't believe how bad this movie is! Good lord! After I saw it for the first time, i was like WTF!?! How did a movie like this get green lit? Why is Daniel such a weak whiny little wimp!?! He can't fight at all in this film! He's only able to punch that guy at the tournament at the end of the film only once and wins!?! It makes no sense at all! Talk about a real kick in the nuts to end what could have been a good movie! The director, producers, and the writers should be ashamed for this!
Many critics said horrible things about this film but I totally disagree. Karate Kid 3 was as great as previous two films. Ralph macchio and Pat Morita were brilliant as always. Plus it was interesting to see Robyn Lively here. Her film "Teen Witch" was released the same year. She is my favorite Macchio's screen girlfriend in this franchise. Thomas Ian Griffith, Martin Kove and Sean Kanan were great bad guys but I still expected better final scene - not just one punch from LaRusso
What a PATHETIC film...Danny was fatter, weaker and more ANNOYING. The hero of stone from KK2 was turned into a flabby noodle. It's as if his KK2 battle with Chozen was forgotten.
Unlike Rocky (who pounds his opponents to shit), Danny was turned into a sad case. Let this be a lesson for filmmakers on how NOT to ruin a hero...
@Joelomite Im not saying to write a damn script Im saying that if you could make a movie better than this then i will eat my words. But i dont see it happening.
@DemonXY2J all I'm saying is the writers DESTROYED Daniel-san. If they had more sense they would've had: 1) Ralph Macchio (Danny) take a break from filming to lose weight and get in shape. 2) Have Danny to stand up to Barnes and the Kai, not put up with their CRAP like he did 3) Make him a bit more serious and less talky 4) Do something with his money instead of the dumb bonsai shop 5) Give bad guys more depth and less goofiness 6) Make Miyagi tougher. He was lame here.
@ybet0ula2 It makes a HUGE difference when the good guy (who you're CHEERING for) stands up to his enemies, rather than submitting to them. This was WORSE than KK1 because in that film, he had a REASON to be weak. But by KK3's timeline, he should've been tougher, stronger and not willing to stand for any crap, especially from Cobra Kai. After destroying Chozen in KK2, he should've EASILY chopped Mike Barnes into dogmeat.
@mikenelson16 - Best story of the series... but I gotta say that Part I and especially Part II had better endings. But the set-up in Part III was brilliant.
No daniel doesn't do the drum technique here's the clip with the part where he says dont do that watch?v=z_6wkp5W7tw go to 4:31. And mr miyagi said that the drum technique is only used as a last resort. Daniel got whooped in the end because Mike was using cheap shots and because for some reason they made Daniel incredibly weak in this film
@UncleSam116 I'm sorry but are you high? Chozen could kill this guy and the whole cobra Kai unit. He's a Okinawan karate student and his teacher knows everything Miyagi knows. Not only that he also teaches the military in Okinawa how to fight... I'm pretty sure the "karate bad boy" wouldn't stand a chance.
@FEARfilmz No I'm not high, but look at that guy, in that part when Daniel tried that drum punch he used to defeat chozen on that guy he said "don't do that" and he threw him on the ground. and he tried to fight back at mike but mike keeps on beating him till the end when Daniel won.
Now the man must make a choice, and the kid must become a man.

I don't get why people dislike this film. I think it's a classic. Not saying it beats part 1 but this is still a classic.

KK3 may not have been as good as 1 and 2 but it was still good in its own way.

@ClubPenguin7705 I disagree. But, of course, we are all entitled to our own opinions. But It's still the worst of the series!

Dude, the next bad guy is tougher than Chozen from the 2nd karate kid. I mean that ine scene when he did the drum technique on him he blocked it.
