  • the chillis need to play the good old songs in a tour..... damn...... good shit heyuh

  • YES I FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CARALHO HILLEL, VOCÊ ERA FODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! ;___;

  • RHCP would be a great band if it weren't for Anthony Keidis

  • @simmy3000 you sir! is what would be known as a dick.

  • @simmy3000 You're either trolling or extremely stupid

  • Young Chili Peppers is so much better. Its actually funky, and it rocks. What is all that disgustingly shit soft rock theyve done since 1999?!

  • @mrlee192 I agree totally

  • @mrlee192 i agree, but u know, they got older and more mature......

  • I got the vhs original! Its my prefer relic. This is the beginning of all..!!!

  • Nothing they do now is anywhere near this awesome!!!

  • goooood i love this band so muchhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • They weren't playing Whole Lotta Love's riff, you need to correct that. Although it sounds like it they are actually playing the riff to Funkadelic's "Mommy, What's a Funkadelic?" and putting the lyrics of "What is Soul?" from the same album on top of them.

  • wow!!! "Me and my Friends" it's better with chad on drums!!!! :D

  • this is way too awesome, damn!

  • there is something more underground than this? I love red hot chili peppers old school .. this is a relic, thanks

  • rhcp is a legend.

  • fucking amazing. when this ended my house went so quiet lool

  • hillel was the fucking proof that there ARE NO WRONG NOTES ON A GUITAR!!!! :-D

  • Nice, i hear the early version of Magic Johnson at 4:37. I always thought Chad made that drumbeat up.

  • Just like I remember it.

Saved from 80's pop crap and new wave.

    Suddenly, a new beginning

    Gawd bless you RHCP's.

  • man...I`m 32 and I wish I could have a time machine

  • hillel slovak is a GOD!

  • you know how hard it is to dance like anthony? can any one do it?

  • 0:10 dumb & dumber.

  • thnx 4 tha post this kicks ass.

  • This made my ears bleed urrggghhhh! This is like their catepillar stage then come the early 90s they evolved into a beautiful butterfly!

  • Great show!..Got to see them in Ft. Lauderdale in '86, I think, Button South, maybe a hundred people there, it was intense! They were virtually underground until Mothers Milk came out. Was an original fan of the first album when it came out in '84, was really groundbreaking debut..

  • They should do a concert, where they do all their old stuff, for the real hardcore fans. <3

  • I hate my parents for making me in 1994, why the fuck didn't they fuck in 1973 or something so that I could be here in these kind of Peppers' performances and buy those amazing LP shit.

    Fuck man, amazing

  • lol!! that blond guy from the intro looks a lot like the foo fighters drummer xD

  • this is like jewelry from the crown for a chili pepper fan.... god damn it!!! thank you so much for uploading this!!!

  • how in the hell is there only 150,000 views in 4 years? People are retarded when it comes to music now. This is classic shit, thanks for uploading. \m/

  • Thanks 4 posting this.

  • Thanks 4 postin' this.

  • yeahh fuck jin tonics and clubs, up the thumbs for the pleasure and fun of real music !!!

  • . . . He said "it just sounded like one long funky song that never ended!"

  • in 1987 I saw this lineup on the Uplift Mofo Party Plan tour! It was at the Cameo theater in Miami Beach. Saw Fishbone open the show, then watched the Chili Peppers play a set like this one, but even more freak-out-spastic energetic. They played non-stop, with no breaks between songs so the final note of one song was the beginning note of the next song. I was a 17 year old skateboarder and I loved it. My friend who never listened to the Chili Peppers hated it. He said "It just sounded like . . .

  • @ggzo3 It wasnt Fishbone but faith No More that opened up and i have the ticket stub to prove it:)

  • @MondoReyTV1 I don't doubt that you have that ticket stub, but I must have seen a different show (I know the Chili Peppers played the Cameo more than once). I might be wrong about the year. That was a couple of decades ago so I'm not really sure. Could have been 87? 86?

  • Magic Johnson? 04:35 - 05:03

  • @giorgiomelis2 ha it does sound like it

  • Damn is saw this on tv when i was 7. Brings back so much memories.

  • dudes the chili's should take this footage, re-master the audio and video and re-released it with the uplift mofo as some special edition or something

  • Ha ha,i bought this video at a record fair years ago, still have it,but not watched it for a long time.Nice one for uploading.

  • i love you for uploading this

  • show this video

  • I'm so liked zoned here ! this is a favorite video of the 80's........that rink was so awesome ! yeah! I GOT MY VHS copy of this ! lol ! love that tune at 6:55-7:20.........nice go skaters ! thanks martinsoage !

  • acdc cover @ 15:27.... that's a 1st!

  • doidera da poxa!!

  • tony hawk at 4:33 to 4:35

  • well here's a funky fact that I know is real...

the Red Hots have Baby Appeal!!!!!!!

  • too bad they didn't play baby appeal...

  • this is the cat's pajamas !!!!!!! hillel

  • at about 3:45 it sounds like Magic Johnson from Mother's Milk

  • jack is soo fuckin funky

  • If you think about it, if the info is right meaning this was recorded on Sept 20 1987 that was a week before The Uplift Mofo Party Plan was released, so the audience heard some of the uplift songs before it was released.

  • they played backwoods, me & my friends, and love trilogy on 1986 too.

  • i AM RED HOT!! but am not a chli pepper :~)

  • tony hawk was there?? coool

  • I really love the old peppers way more than the current., but theres no way in hell they would be able to play like this for 20+ years with this much energy.

  • I saw them 3 years ago, they were hardly less energetic than when i saw them 20 years ago!!!!

  • They have 20 years more

They cant jumping like then becouse they have 45-46 years

  • my 2 favorite things skateboarding and the chili peppers! ! ! !

  • Man that change into the punk part of love triology is just amazing

  • THESE are the red hot chili peppers!!!

    god damn, what a show.

  • top 5 best videos on youtube !!!! :)

  • kiedos looks like hes fucking fast forward or something haha the spotlight guy cant keep up

  • Why does everyone cal these guys high on something? lol

  • Because they are. You should really read Scar Tissue. Anthony Kiedes and Hillel Slovak were strung out on coke and heroin at just about every show, including this.

  • dude. kiedis is so high on coke

  • I see old RHCP and new RHCP as two different bands, but both are GREAT.

  • F*CKING AWESOME

  • very good

  • CLASSIC CHILI PEPPERS!

  • two of the most amazing things... skateboarding, and classic funky-ass chili peppers!!!!!!! and i agree with tubejohnny, love to hear that magic johnson intro they had already

  • With you man!

Nice to see old chili lineup fans ;)

  • I'm sure someone else pointed this out already, but it was cool to hear the "Magic Johnson" intro to "Me & My Friends". I didn't know they came up with that with Hillel.

  • the comparisons of the two aren't fair at all. they're both so amazing, and the music is perfect and timeless, so leave it there.

"go by the truthness or the falsness of the whole thing. forget about comparing. thats where we make our biggest mistake, is trying to put our ego against another persons." - jimi hendrix

  • This version of the Chili Pepprers is the best. No Doubt forget the current lineup.

  • this is soooooo much better than nowadays!!! Hillel is master

  • Hillel is a better guitar player in my opinion than John.

  • yeah well they are both very different. I think that Hillel and John are very good and talented but the music RHCP made before Hillel's death is better then they made after the comeback of JF.

  • More energy for sure. Really fresh and alive.

  • mother's milk and bssm are incredible albums though. after that they pretty much sold out

  • very well said omfgapolarbear. . very well said. . . and we love them both. . .

  • The beginning says it all!!!!

    xD

  • questi erano chili peppers!

  • What? Be more specific...

  • shit how does anthony rap that fast

  • practice haha

  • Well, I think the coke helped. lol

  • Waited (!) 20 years to see this. Thanks. Hillel RIP - wow

  • So much energy.

Jack Irons was an amazing funk drummer and hillel was a great guitarist but nothing can beat mr john frusciante. He's unbelievable, A.K is amazing too; just finished reading his book, scar tissue, an amazing story. Flea is unbeatable too

  • The chili peppers really are two different bands in two different incarnations. The Hillel/Jack chili's were a totally different band from the john/chad chili's. They're really two different... breeds almost, of the same band. And I love them both

  • I dont know about that, but its true different members ultimately will make a different sound

but what I mean is look at the Beatles, they had the same 4 members the whole time (except for a couple songs where they had different musicians filling roles) but they sounded a lot different in the late 60s than they did in the early 60s

which is the same idea of the Chili Peppers haha

  • @omfgapolarbear

don't forget about the jack sherman/cliff martinez RHCP, or the hillel/cliff RHCP,

    or the chad/dave RHCP!

  • @omfgapolarbear Although what you said was clearly said with good purposes (and I also love every RCHP era), I don't think you should understand it as two different bands. If you listen to Mother's Milk, you'll see John ("the RHCP fan") playing a lot like Hillel. In BSSM, the guitar starts to sound more original, but you can still find a lot of influences from the "funky guitar". The changes that happened are simply a natural process of a band that's being awesome for almost 30 years.

  • @omfgapolarbear The problem with saying that is that when John was doing heroin with the peppers they were pretty crazy like in the slovak days.. its seems more after john came back did they 'become more commercial'

  • @omfgapolarbear Yeah, they became shithouse after 'blood sugar sex magik'. In the 80's they wrote punk rock and funk influenced good time songs. Now they are just commercial fodder. A shame.

  • @xalstarx NOPE. YOU FULL OF SHIT. SHITHOUSE

  • @SupWitDat19 I know the truth is hard to take. Tough break, guy.

  • everyone goin on about hillel.....

dont forget the funkiest drummer ever.... mr jack irons

  • there doing an earlly version of magic jonson!

  • at least you werent 2. i love them to death

  • hillel was incredible! amazing, and made the chili peppers what they are, but john frusciante is equally as good as hillel! you cannot say a bad word about californication, the same as the early stuff like 'nevermind' or 'out in L.A'

  • that's exactly what i love about the peppers. the old music i so much better. to bad it was 5 years before i was born

  • wish i was there...i was 4

  • Don't feel bad...I would have only been 8

  • @CmnDmn I was 6.

  • say nuh uh...this shits fuckn insane

  • this is AWESOME!!!!!

  • this concert is sooooo damn great!!!!!!!

  • Is that Jack Irons on drums?

  • yeah

  • shit this wasn't long before hillel died

  • This is awesome!! I like the old shit so much better.

  • me too.RHCP is the 90' s best band of this kind. Unbelieveble many bands with the PIXIES n NIRVANA style emerged but no one like them. May be Urban Dance Squad? Here in Italy we adore a half french, half latin band called SWAVE. Seek their song "In the Future" is awesome too

  • Lol wish AK still sang like this ;)

  • me too

  • Great show!! I remeber this from back then. Thanks for posting the whole show!!

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers are rad and i wish i was half as cool as them.

  • flea is rad!

  • Eblouiissante composition de Flea.

  • ooh shiiiit!!

    great live perfomance...

    chili peppers forever!!

r.i.p. hillel. the chili peppers with red ballz.:)

    rulez rhcp

  • Magical years, the 80´s and sk8, what a combination...

  • awesome vid man, thx for rescuing this :D

btw, look at 7:21 the man with the 3D glasses xD

  • Anthony's "Oh shit" at 11:59, when Hillel's sliding on his strings always makes me laugh ;D. It's funny, but also full of energy and passion.

  • i wonder if mike v and rodney mulllen were there to

  • I live for drum fills like the one at 09:28!!

  • I wonder if John is in the audience watching this.

  • sure, he was a real fanatic of the band before joining

  • that was sick haah, chilis are so sick

  • i liked how anthony sang back in black hahah

fight like a brave is still my favorite chili peppers song of all-time; my first red hot chili peppers song i ever heard. and it was on tony hawk 3. ironic?

  • im glad everyone on this page isnt a jerk you guys kick ass in an rhcp way

  • got this vhs posted on ebay just search red hot skate rock

  • you should make dvd.s of it and trade/sell it!

  • Thanks for the info!!!

  • This was recorded on the day I was born. Damn!

  • I love this video soooooooo fucking much! Expect comments and views from me daily, thank you very much!

  • I love Flea! Why more men dont realize how "FUNK" can get to a woman, in a GOOD way, blows my mind! If a man plays a funkyass bass (like Flea) NO WOMAN CAN RESIST HIM! Get it guys???

  • i always do that to my mother jk. Great vid!!!

  • That riff between 7:09-7:22 to f'in die for I swear, awesome awesome riff, but best song ever done by these guys has to be blackeyed blonde, funkyass tune Ive dug that one since its debut! And I dig it even more today!! The version on here rocks!

  • Oh Yeah, Thanks soooooooooooo much for uploading this!

  • OHHHHHHHH FUCK YEAH!!!!!! Work it boys!!! These are the Chili peppers I KNOW!

  • that thing theyre playing at round 4:50 sounds so much like Magic Johson

  • i heard somwhere that it was written out of a jam that they did at shows.....so probably was that...and johns first show with them...they played the jam that subway to venus was based on.....aaaand, just incase your wondering...first time john and flea jammed was when flea first played the basslines to nobody weird like me...

  • This comment was for ptrLeGrand.

  • This comment was for danielgazda.

  • and what's the bad thing about it? i want to see you bein 'pro' when you just started sth.

  • They had soul... Now they do pop music for dubasses like you (learn english before commenting back).

  • haha in the middle of reading scar tissue and ive never seen them perform before blood sugar sex magic.

This is classic i never imagined they were like this man, he mentions how he danced around the place like a nutter and they totally rocked the place out funk rock styley! Love funk rock too much! RIP Hillel!

  • me too i miss this music

  • When I was 7, my dad sent me to Sleep Away camp w/ 2 CD's... Beastie Boys-Check Your Head, and Red Hot Chili Peppers- Uplift Mofo Party Plan...

I wish they would perform these songs now...

  • you have a tight dad. especially giving u the uplift mofo party when u were 7

  • nice

  • there aint no musicians like them

  • Wow... that was fucking awesome. Miss Hillel Slovak loads, I can't believe I've never seen this gig before. So good, makes you realise just how good they really were back in the day. None of this sanitized poppy middle of the road safe ground they tread now, just totally raw funk rock.

Thanks to the uploader. Totally made my day dude. =P

  • awesome!!!! but I have a question as you load a video that exceeds 10 minutes?

  • If you are director, comedian or something like that, you can load a video longer than 10 min.

if tou are ''youtuber'' you cant do thath

sorry for my english, im from Argentina

  • thank you for response

  • YEAAAAAAAH, This rocked my ass! I miss Hillel, no one can replace him...

  • yo hes awesome but some one did replace him

  • What are you twit?

I know that, but it fucking sucks now.

    It was good with Hillel.

  • now their music is more mature...

so what? it's only less funky... :(

  • This is not only less funky, it's pop music now (fact). They are making a motherfuckin lot of money and they enjoy it! I understand it, they are reallist poeple (maybe except John) and they only want to feel comfortable in their old days. Hahaha

  • this is one of the best things i've ever seen.

    soo oldschool.

best mix with the chili's and skating.

  • now you said it all!

    "SOO OLDSCHOOL"

and i love it that way!

  • Tony Hawk 26:02-26:23

  • i used to rent this video from the local grocery store back in 92

  • This is a great concert, one of my favourites.

  • nobody tops the peppers.. i just can't get enough of blackeyed blonde's fuckin bassline! flea is a legend like all the other members
