This is British Funk at it's best with mama used To Say. Shame it was not a hit first time it was released in UK, but he had to go to the States to become a hit than back to the UK. Brilliant voice and very under rated.

Really inspiring songs from Junior....listen & get moltivated...I remember always turning on the cassette player...loaded with Junior Giscombe...cassette, on entering my VW Beetle...with volume high...I was in my prime....great memories from those sunny days 1982, Chelmsford, Eseex, England....Thank you, Peace my friend.

@gercav155 I don't know. The surroundings seem kind of mellow. The beat was slowed down and he's older. To me eveything seems, not so much grim but cooled out and relaxed. The mood picked up when he sang his second song.
Junior stiil sounds great, wonderful voice, pure and crystal clear. I am sorry he did'nt have a longer career because he certainly deserved one. Major talent. Bravo Junior!
Junior Was major hot in the 80's, I was a teenager at the time. I am so happy that with youtube i can enjoy a lot of the music i grew up with. Junior sounds great!! He totally rocked this! The two jams i remember the most is Too Late, and Mama Said.. Classics!!
you ARE an Incredible Talent Junior! Thank You Much for continuing to Express Love through your Voice! What you are doing, is allowing God Essence to express freely through your Body, how awesome is that!
What the fuck is wrong with these people? Everybody should be dancing. This was the shit back in the day and it still is. What a boring crowd of people. It hurts just to watch this.
yeah man...where was this? A nursing home banquet!!! That crowd is so dead. I would have been getting my groove on too. Junior is another very underrated artist!
Wow, what a voice! Sad theme and never knew that it was about domestic violence. Pretty popular back in late spring of '82 in CA. So sad that we'll probably never hear such new, fantastic voices similar to this guy's. The industry won't allow it.
