  • Great vibes!

  • off the chain

  • He's going to be in Epping soon!

  • The surroundings seem so grim for such a great singer. When he comes on stage and says good AFTERNOON. Tragic.

  • @gercav155 I don't know. The surroundings seem kind of mellow. The beat was slowed down and he's older. To me eveything seems, not so much grim but cooled out and relaxed. The mood picked up when he sang his second song.

  • He Still Jamms!

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH This BOYYYY Is BADDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!

He sounds just like the record !!!!!!!!!!

  • @JGfitzz Thats cos he's semi-miming you can hear the original vocal under him. Still great though.

  • Junior stiil sounds great, wonderful voice, pure and crystal clear. I am sorry he did'nt have a longer career because he certainly deserved one. Major talent. Bravo Junior!

  • wow, i didn't know that either...i do know he can sing his behind off!!!

  • yeah this is Richard Blackwoods uncle

  • @prorealtor1999 from croydon...and hes not a nice guy.

  • Wow, what a voice! Sad theme and never knew that it was about domestic violence. Pretty popular back in late spring of '82 in CA. So sad that we'll probably never hear such new, fantastic voices similar to this guy's. The industry won't allow it.

  • this is soooo good to here and see

  • im so glad he wasnt the first 2 people on the stage. scarred me for a second.

  • Damn, never new he made this song.

  • Juinor u sound the same as when i was in europe back in 82 lol..you sond very good..never was much of a looker but the voice. is off the chain

  • Still sounds flawless. Thats real longevity. I miss the afro though

  • Excellent Post! Junior looks exactly like "Todd Stroger". Todd is the Cook county president politician of around 10,000,000 Million people in IL.

  • Ha! I'm from Chicago and you are NOT lying..he does look like pig headed todd stroger.

  • This man looks great still!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Wat an artist!!! his voice hasn't changed a bit and he sounds AWESOME live all these younger cats need to take a lesson instead of bumpin and grindin and choppin and screwin and I'm not that old!! but I recognize real r&b!!

  • I totally agree with you.

  • Well said!! Totally agree with you on this!!!

  • One of the first black British acts to break into the US RnB charts in the early 80's. Before Loose Ends and Soul II SOul

  • Don't forget Imagination, Five Star, Princess and a few others I can't recall.

  • can someone tell me about juinor,i loved his music, but i dont know anything about this artess....thanks

  • 4:22 dats ma song!

  • da chorus for "Mama Used To Say" is very catchy

  • Junior is too good for the track being played he is underselling himself . Junior these songs were meant to have instruments so do the right thing and don't lower yourself or your songs to compensate rap ! You are better than rap

  • INCREDIBLE !

    GREATLY APPRECIATE THIS OFFERING!

    Much Love,

    Jeff

  • Classic rite there, if u listen to Do Me right by Guy, I think Teddy Riley stole some from this guys.

  • Junior is awesome! They should have more respect. This is talent at it's best.

  • Sounds and looks good for a 40+ year old

  • Junior looking good and can still dance. The crowd was useless but my baby still got off, that's what ole school will/can do.

  • More music like this!!! Less guns and killing.

  • Sweet!!!!!!!!!!1 Dude still sound the same! Thats true talent right there jack!

  • I agree. Junior is a legend and the audience is showing no respect. Either they're too young and/or too stupid to realize this man's musical contributions.

Too bad he hasn't toured in So-Cal in a while. We'd be up screaming, dancing and singing along to every song. I too can proudly say that I still have my Junior debut lp on vinyl along with his 12" singles.

  • Not only can he sing, I'd like to get him on the dance floor.

  • triple Platinum!

  • Afetr all this time the man still has it!

  • Man, he sure does!!!! He sounds amazing!!!

  • this is a classic they needed to show him more love. he was jammin

  • Big tune. Dead crowd tho.

  • i dont understand, how come the audience dint like it,, hes a legend.. and if you look at someone like solja boy.. hes tottaly crap and he gets more fans that these classicss. wtf.. solja boy can hardly pronaunce his words lol.. fact he cant rap!!! jusxt looserrrr.. this man is legend....crowd should love it!!!!! soz for english

  • I AGREE, THIS CROWD DID NOT SEEM TO APPRECIATE THIS CLASSIC MATERIAL!! I STILL HAVE MY JUNIOR RECORDS, ....NOT CDs. THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!!

  • Totally fabulous!!!! Talented bugger!

  • someone should kick this crowd in the ass....lol.......dnt they know they are lucky to be able to see a great musician and a legend perform....its like they have a effin broom stick up there ass...that place should be on fire they would get more out of me and im only 19

  • CLASSIC DANCE SONG!!!

  • That's cool how he got Pac up in there!! Love it!!

  • This is cool! He still sounds the same!! I love this song. Takes me back! Thanks for posting this. Good to see he still doing his thang after all these years.

  • I love this song!!! Shame on the audience for being so lackluster! The man is a legend!

  • Listen to the joint "Mama Used to Say" by Krayzie Bone - Keef lifts a recognisable snatch of the chorus for this one

  • and the title too it seems.. savages in this town

  • "What the hell's going on in here?" --[line from Junior's song "Too Late" @ 1:48]

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw how ungrateful, lethargic and boring the audience was. What the hell is their problem? This man is a legend! An icon! This man is one of the founding fathers of the British Soul/Funk scene. Not to mention that "Too Late" and "Mama Used To Say" are two of the best songs ever recorded in music history. Those people ought to be ashamed treating a legend like a nobody!

  • @A86 I second that my friend! Well put! Embarassing to say the least. Looks like maybe a supper club full of people who have LOST their Soul. Love ya Junior!

  • Please do you have the song "communication breakdown" by Junior?

A video upload would also be nice.

  • This brother is talented! his songs way way ahead of its time! those of us know know, those who dont dont know music! keep listening to shit hop while we listen to genious music , Junior! love you man!

  • great voice! mama use to say one of the best songs of the 80s

  • Wow - the dude sounds just as he did all those years ago - Great voice

  • incredible ..

rare are singers that keep so much groove n funkyness after 25 years

he moves like a young cat.. damn

  • wow still looks the same without the afro :)

  • He's still got the talent!

  • OMG! I love him!!! This song brings up soooo many memories.

  • i miss da fro-looked kool on him

  • Good to see Junior. I was a big fan of his music when he was introduced to the States back in the '80's. His albums had several nice cuts. (I swear, the way you Brits speak just knocks me out! Love the accent.)

  • I like this new version of Too Late, he still sounds great after all these years.

  • This song is a great classic, you have to know the era of music to get a full feeling of the grooves that made us move.

  • Amazing, he sounds just like a quarter of a century ago, only the afro is missing :D

Poor guy, he was probably performing at a Tupperware meeting.

  • tupperware meeting? lol ahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!!! dang you say it like he can get gigs only at rinky dink joints lol.
