intonation was bad but you put so much feeling in that wonderful piece of music^^ The octave up at the end was amazing^^ Keep on working please you can become a very good bassoonist later on!
amati's are not better than Schreiber's by the way... I had a very good Schreiber bassoon but now i have to play a better one for advanced pupils because maybe I'm goin to study it.
It's irritating when people make statements like this about any instrument. The bassoon is essential in symphonies and in a good amount of chamber music for winds, and equivalent statements could be made about the oboe and the viola and the various other instruments that some people like to mock.
Am I the only one that notices the video ahead of the sound? Look at the fingerings; at the end, he takes his mouth off the reed, but the sound just keeps on going. Better get that camera fixed.
I take private lessons, and I sounded like that, and my bassoon teacher literally went to a university and asked them if I could borrow there bassoon.
your tunning and breath technique isn't too good..

Not bad,
Use more air when you hit the higher notes, and they are tending to go flat :(

Good! use a little vibrato though

your tone is pretty good, but try adding something artistically interesting to it, like crescendo's or accents.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
As an oboe player, I feel betrayed, a member of my own family (double reeds) is playing a solo that was clearly assigned for the oboe.

The intonation needs some work. Band teachers don't know anything unless they are bassoonists are have PhDs in musicology which is somewhat rare.

Your bassoon has an extremely covered sound. What kind of bassoon do you play on?
MercifulMe 5 years ago
I don't think that the bad sound is from the bassoon.
I think that is come from the camera.
Because my theacher tald me that i have a very good sound..
