Innovation and development is not always a good thing. Why must every car design change every 3 years. Who says that the new design looks better. Who says that a new car looks better than an oldtimer? What is definiton of modern? But I guess thats the nature of humanity. This will be the reason why the humanity will be one day stop to exist. We never can let things how they are, we always have to improve.
Whoever keeps saying that they are changing their sound. You are really not even listening to their music as a true fan. Every great band changes some elements, but they have been true to that unique sound that can't be copied. Adding Charlotte James, just takes their music to another level. Try listening to all their music and what they have produced then go from there.
I can't understand why people keep wanting them to repeat their old sounds either? Like all true innovators, they keep moving forward without compromising what it was that made them great in the first place - when Wide Angle first came out. As someone who loves Wide Angle, Disappear Here was one of my favourite albums of the last few years...their magnum opus so far and their music production just gets better with each album. Charlotte James is Hybrid's new secret weapon too, fabulous addition.
All I can say is that if this is Hybrid 'selling out' then I wish they would do it more often. Once again, a stunning track that shames the pants off most electronic chart fodder out there. I'm sure they've got the confidence to know it too.
The nice thing about Hybrid is...if you don't like the original song, they will inevitable release a badaxe remix or two of said song that is just as sick as anything in the old days

They are still unique, progressive and innovative masters of breaks'n'beats. Who cares about music structure when its fresh and original? I've been a Hybrid fan for 12 years now & they are still my favourite 'dance' act. Their music has mellowed slightly but thats probably age catching up with them haha. Love the new stuff chaps, keep it up.

@windsor6400 I have 2 dreams...1) Hybrid joins forces w/Tori Amos. 2) Hybrid gets radio play in the states. I'm in the states and have been listening from the beginning. There was a great amount of difficulty in finding their music back then. Disappear Here imho is Hybrid's best work and a testament to their genius. To be able to switch gears into a new sound and do it well is amazing.
My one disappointment with this is how much it sounds like it's from 'Disappear Here'. Not that this isn't awesome, it is, I'm just nervous about a lack of evolution. But, hey, the album is forthcoming, so maybe I worry for nought. Anyway, awesome stuff.
Your music has transformed over the last several albums and I love the direction it's going. Charlotte's voice layers wonderfully over the strings and is easy to be lost in. Thank you for the wonderful sounds and the amazing talent, looking forward to the new album.
@hybridsoundsystem Nostalgia rules all. Usually I dislike new choons the first listen through, then I start hearing the depth and brilliance in the track and things change.
Hybrid is amazing; been a fan since I heard Morning Sci-Fi years ago. There's not a single song of theirs I don't like, and this isn't an exception!
