@kevinturvy It's called skill. The guitar player is nearly 90 and he still performs just like you see here in a clip from 7 years ago. The drummer - who as I mentioned had to skip this tour because he was performing in play - is nearly 90 and is one of the best drummers I've ever heard. You're never too old to rock!
In case anyone's curious, the reason why Dick Richards isn't playing drums on this clip is because during this particular tour he was actually acting in a play in Hollywood (look up Dick Boccelli on IMDb for his film credits). As for why sax man Joey Ambrose is wearing a full tux rather than the plaid is anyone's guess!
Yes Saskabush, but I also detect Frankie "Frannie" Beecher on guitar (he died a few months ago at 93) and Johnny Grande on piano, along with Marshall Lyttle on upright bass and vocals. A nice clip. I love both, Comets and Jodimars. Greetings from Spain.
I'm glad I was wrong. But I notice you I did read he died in some web page. But I repete: I'M GLAD THE WEB PAGE IS WRONG !! Thanks for the good new !!
A great clip! It's a shame Dick Richards isn't in this one -- during this tour he was performing in a play in Los Angeles and unavailable, so Bernie Reis sat in. Joey Ambrose seems to have misplaced his plaid jacket!
Well, it's all over now...Johnny Grande is dead...
Franny (91) re-tired from touring....
But I'm glad- I saw them (including Dick Richards on Drums)
in 1994 and 1997 in Leverkusen/Germany....
In their "Hey-Days"....Thank You..."Comets"...
Your legacy nowadays is in good Hands :

@opeth333 tear down the mail box, rip up the floor, smash out the windows and knock down the door's.
Seems a little optimistic for men in there twilight years that's for sure.
Notice how dainty the piano player hit's the key's? Surprised any sound at all can be heard from it

Yeah ok it swings great.
But I can`t help but thinking that Marshall Lyttle(Bass) Joey Ambrosia (Sax) and Dick Richards (Drums) all left Bill as early as 1955.
But Franny Beecher(Guitar) and Johnny Grande (Piano) stayed with him untill 1962.
Johnny as long as from 1949 to 1962,so the other guys are cashing in on a dead man,I think.
Bill was only 55 when he died in 1981.
It`s hard to run a Band, especially if the members keeps asking for more money.
Bill was fantastic.
