SL63 AMG 518hp torque 465 ft. lbs, (stock) is electronically lmtd to 155mph) for an extra $12,500 the limiter is taken off for a top speed of 186 and you also get the AMG susp. AMG active body control, lmtd slip, compd braking and perform. steering wheel/ E63 AMG 518hp 465 ft lbs. torque, you do not get as much of the perform. mods as the SL63, and I do not see an option to remove the 155mph limiter. Basically you are gonna pay more for the SL because it's performance oriented more than Luxury

why is everyone here saying this car is ugly this and ugly that? when the 2003 SL model came out people thought it looked ugly compare to the model before that. but now look at some of you, you guys think the 2003+ model is better. there is a purpose to why it's styled like that. you'll find the answer not here in the united states' but rather in a place like germany (where all AMGs are build) where no economic crisis is occurring at this moment.

my dad pre ordered his.....240,000 U.S. for the car. he put around 150,000 down. He got it in carbon black and it is an Amg Black series SL so hes getting it with twin turbos and around 680 horsepower with 650 bhp and 712lb-ft torque. Cant wait to take it out.

The SL63 has nowhere near that much power. It's rated at 518hp (I forget the torque). Trust me, I just PDI'ed one at my dealership today. Probably the most fun car I've driven.

yes you are right SL63 has 518 hp, and the torque is about 460, but the SL65 AMG has 604 hp and the torque is 738, and The Sl65 AMG black serias has 670hp , the torque is the same 738. And something new. The new SL tuned up by Brabus has 730 hp (I have no idea about the torque)and the top speed is about 270 mph

the brabus tuned SL makes about 974 pound feet of torque, but it is limited to 811 due to problems with the TC, and probably to save the transmission

it's top speed is somewhere around 220mph

I was replying to some body who was talking about the brabus sl biturbo roadster, I will refrain from calling you dumb for making that mistake.

The top speed of this car even when limited is 186 mph, which is already much higher than you thought. Not to mention the older SL55 amg can get over 200 with the limiter completely off.
